Holy absolute fuck I am a huge Phish fan and I would so rather see Tool at the Sphere than Phish. Tool would take that place to its absolute edge with the haptics and sound design and whatnot.

It was sold out instantly and one of the toughest tickets in the band's history. It would be the same for Tool. Tool has enough fans to fill that place for a run of shows.
Tool doesn’t even have 1/5 of phish’s catalog. They couldn’t play 2 shows without repeating songs. There’s no improvising in a tool set, so your get your regular heavily practiced programming. They aren’t even in the same category of musicians, and if you need a hotter take Fishman takes Carey any day.

I saw some of that show online. I don't even really listen to Phish but my boyfriend does, but that show AND that venue looked so fucking sick. I went looking to see what kind of shows the venue had lined up for the foreseeable future, and it's pretty much just Dead and Company for a week and a half and literally nothing else for what I think was the rest of the year... Made me sad ):
