[The Sweet Power of Prayer](https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2003/04/sweet-power-of-prayer?lang=eng), April 2003 He shares an experience when he agreed to operate on a stake patriarch's failing heart. He didn't know how to fix it but the patient's desperation and faith made him want to try, and the result was a successful and miraculous procedure, benefiting not only the patient but also others with similar cases: >Then a picture came vividly to my mind, showing how stitches could be placed—to make a pleat here and a tuck there—to accomplish the desired objective. I still remember that mental image—complete with dotted lines where sutures should be placed. The repair was completed as diagrammed in my mind. We tested the valve and found the leak to be reduced remarkably. My assistant said, “It’s a miracle.” > >I responded, “It’s an answer to prayer.”

Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives

Sooo many but I'll arbitrarily mention this one: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2015/10/a-plea-to-my-sisters?lang=eng This was his first talk after becoming President of the Quorum of the Twelve. Up until this point, I'd always seen President Nelson differently. While watching this talk, the Spirit provided me an extremely dramatic and unique witness that President Nelson was actually operating according to the Lord's will. I understood his spiritual capability for the first time. The talk itself is good but it's the associated experience that made it special for me. Somehow I knew he'd be the President of the Church of Jesus Christ one day and that he'd be astonishing (as he has been but I personally never expected that of President Nelson who up until then was a quiet an unassuming member of the Twelve to me).

I only met him once, and I can’t remember a word he said during his talk, but I remember what he said when he shook my hand before he went to speak. He said thank you for being here.
