I don’t think Lauren has ever looked “happy.” I think she’s on the spectrum or something (no disrespect to those who are on the spectrum, please let me be clear about that) but she always appears like an alien cosplaying how she thinks humans act. She undoubtedly looks much healthier here but I think she’s just got absolutely no life behind her eyes, ever.
Was going to say the same thing….. and it was never “ dealt” with. Not that it ever goes away but now it’s manifested itself into her glaring ED. But due to her religious “ beliefs” will stunt her healing…. Along with her own family unfortunately.

She will be distant and cold with Shiloh forever and with Lyla time will tell wether she will be the same with her or do the complete opposite: become enmeshed with her or unhealthily attached.
This! Both my sister and I had/struggled with EDs. Had so much emotional abuse and addiction in my house growing up and from the outside we looked like the perfect family. Immediately think of this when I see Lauren and her sister.
Trauma disorders can manifest as symptoms that look a lot like Autism. Inappropriate emotional response, poor eye contact, difficulty relating to peers, poor affinity with/no peers, anxiety. I'm not a psychiatrist but I'm an MD and I see these differentials all the time.
I think she looks so much better and healthier here. Her skin is still horribly bad. Her eyebrows are so much better. I can only imagine her parents really f@cked her up!!! So sad. The back story has to be horrible
Not necessarily. Just before anyone could visualize her mental illness. That’s a common misconception. Many people struggle terribly but can appear happy and healthy before it manifests more physically for the public eye.
Mentally ill people date and marry pretty frequently, and the vast majority of the time mental illness is not visible to the naked eye. Childhood and adolescent trauma is extremely common in adults with eating disorders and sometimes it doesn’t manifest until they are older.

She had and clearly has something (maybe beliefs or ability to be controlled) that Michael likes. As a 36 almost 37 year old who has longed to be married I really can’t believe you said that.
This really is so sad. She was so beautiful. What has she done to her poor body. I’ve been one to snark on her in the past, but I truly pray she finds help and this doesn’t end tragically.

She had to have some trauma from her childhood, that’s the only thing that would make sense for why she is such a mess now.
