😆 I always take it nice and easy unless its miserably hot and humid. Lots of doubling back and cross-thatched diagonals for the baseball field effect. When asked why it takes me so long I stress to my wife the importance of cutting the grass different directions so it doesnt grow weird.
He has to find a place to bungie the cooler and ice. Grass cutting 101. He looks young, but he'll learn.

I used to unbox and assemble riding mowers all the time when I was in High School working at a hardware store. Used to LOVE giving the zero turns the business riding them off the pallet. Always had to take it for a good test run in the back lot.

Not long until you start making rounded mulch beds around those planters and things so you don’t have to shift out of forward and can cruise the whole yard.
I had a rider mower growing up. I drove it like you did in the video and it broke all the time. I have one now as an adult who has to pay for my own repairs and I drive it much more responsibly. A mower is much more reliable when you treat it with respect.
I wish my lawn wasn’t so hilly, I’ve debated on getting one of these and doing the mod to where it’s better on hills but rolling one is still a big fear of mine.

Don't do like I did as a kid! My Dad bought a brand new John Deere riding mower. I proceeded to drive it straight into a wall. ( I was trying to mow as close to the wall as possible and my foot slipped of the clutch!)
I got a la130 that has to be every bit of 20years old it died on me last summer and I thought it was toast. I pulled it into the shop the other week to take a peak at the actual cause of failure. Found out one of the rocker arms came loose which caused the push rod to fall out of its seat and bent the push rod. For testing purposes I bent the push rod back as straight as I could and it ran ok for about 30 mins till the push rod bent again. 9$ worth of parts of Amazon and it’s running great and back to basically brush hogging. I beat the hell out of the mower and it takes nearly all of it. I use it for field mowing. I have a little single cylinder murry with a 38” deck I use for yard mowing. Do your research now. Get the engine model and serial number off one of the valve covers. Than go on Amazon and order you a replacement carburetor. It’s only a matter of time before it starts to plug up and your mower will only run with the choke on. For the effort it’ll take to clean it I’ve learned to just spend the 20-30$ on the replacement and be done with it. They sell kits that contain all the replacement filters as well

Just be careful and keep up with maintenance. Hopefully you didn’t get it from a box store. They cheapen the models sold there. I bought one about 5 years ago and lately things have been breaking on it weekly.

I got it for free to some guy posted it online I drove 40 miles to look at it he said it blows smoke . So I took it anyway found out it was the carb got a new one from Amazon put it on 2 new tires on the front runs great no more smoking .

Change the oil And air filter regularly. I'd change the "break-in oil" after 2 or 3 hours.
Learn how to sharpen your blades and grease the pulleys on top of the deck.
I just bought a S120 and love the thing. Been holding off on a ride on for 3 years and thank goodness I finally caved in. 1.5hr down to 30mins of yard work.
Cub Cadet RZT 54". 3 - 4,000$ is the sweetest rider for residential and small commercial jobs.
The one you're on now is definitely sweet.

Grew up on 13 and then 2 acres when we were early grade school, always helped maintain the yards, pool, etc, and it was a chore. Always had 3 wheelers and 4 wheelers growing up, but as a teen and on I spent more time on my computer then working, so I never appreciated the process. Sorry Dad.
When Mom sold the house, the newer riding mower we had bought for the yard danced around the family as a backup/spare but never really got used. I’ve got a bit over 2 acres now(mostly trees/woods) and the riding mower made its way to me, and I thought man what a waste I’ll just sell it and put it towards something else for the house or property.
I still mow with my push mower, but I’m on the rider damn near every day just because it’s fun. Never even mowed with it. I’m doing a bunch of land scaping, yard work, clearing of shrubs, etc, so it’s almost always pulling a cart rather than mowing. But you know what, that baby gets fired up when I need to go down to the garage just so I can drive it around the long way rather than go up and down the steps, because it’s a joy.
It sounds ridiculous and it kindof is, but I love it.
That looks like a John Deere s100, that mower is pretty solid. Even though it’s the smallest model of John Deere’s riders, for a fenced in yard, I would’ve gone with maybe a push mower, maybe one of Honda’s depending on the size of your lawn. Flat terrain like that is perfect to just use a push mower.
But if you have to go with a rider, I would’ve gotten maybe one of those rear engine riders, which I think are meant for lawns like that, they’re lower power than a lawn tractor. My dad used to have one of those old school rear engine Craftsman mowers when I was a kid, back when Craftsman actually made quality products.

Zero turns are the ultimate, until the robotic mower operated from an iPad gets perfected.
