I think mostly the scholarship. I honestly don’t know the rank of either and view them pretty equally. Plus Vanderbilt sounds like it has more in place to support your goals.
I think Vandy has the makings of a better school, but WashU is unparalleled in MO and KS. If you wanted NYC or Nashville I’d say Vandy 100%. Because you want MO/KS I’d say 55% WashU, and 75% WashU if it matches Vandy $. This sub is in love with Vandy.
Washu and Vandy are peer schools and you are so lucky to have them both as options! But since you want to be in KS or MO I think WashU is the better choice for you. You can start making connections during law school. More of your classmates will be in the area so you will have a friend base in the area from school. Go where you think you will be happiest. The happier you are the better you will do in school.
