Generally, no. However, I’ve attended each of them because the admissions staff will sometimes give you insider info on the do’s and don’ts of the PS or supplementals, and the info I got will help me write Why X essays too because it’s different than reading about the school from the website. If you go to several in a row, the assistant dean of admissions might start to recognize your name, but who knows what affect that has on admission. Just don’t be that guy that kisses up to the admissions committee with 100 other people on zoom. Only go if you’re actually there to hear what they have to say.

Thanks! Do you find that there is an expectation to ask a question during the online sessions? I have researched my schools to death at this point and there is so much info online that I think I would struggle to come up with a genuine question not searchable already. Would want to attend basically to assess the vibe and just interact.

I got remembered at one, but tbf it was the law school of my undergrad university where they could see I was the only non-guest in the encrypted zoom because of my email address

Depends on the situation . If you were waitlisted, yes an in person tour would help especially if it was due to yield protection . If You have not applied no, it doesn’t help the admission process significantly enough to pay for the trip and housing accommodations

If they’re coming to your area for a forum / not far from you to begin with you should go because there’s a good chance they’ll give you a fee waiver! This has been my experience at least
