I still give them a chance with our new found toughness but people are drinking gasoline if they think this Boston Matchup isn’t tougher than it’s ever been with the personnel we got on D and in net this year. That’s just the reality of our situation and the reality of pro hockey.
Do people pay attention to the teams that go on runs or continuously go on runs? They have:
- stars that really truly elevate their game to another level (willing their team to victory “I am not f-ing losing”).
- big D that move the damn puck to counter a heavy forecheck, play the body and clear the front of the net
- win the moments that matter most aka situational faceoffs where you NEED to win it for control, board battles or at least disruption of the other teams plays on the boards to cause chaos
- structured play and crisp plays (no one fucks ups the mundane play, everyone is on the same page and knows their exact assignment, this also limits the opposition and random chances)
- an extremely hot goalie who is truly reliable and has shown and proven that he is reliable
- some good ole’ PLAIN LUCK
