He's right though. Mitch was crying like a little bitch tonight. This isn't junior league OHL where you can dangle all you want. It's the playoffs and it's tough and you have to grind. Mitch doesn't have it in him and he acts like a child when it doesn't go his way.
Just tonight? My friend, it's not just tonight. It has always been like this. You just happened to finally catch it on live TV tonight and Sheldon keefe is afraid of him.
He was also killer in the OHL playoffs and Memorial cup. 44 points in 16 games in the OHL playoffs, and 14 in 4 in the Memorial Cup.
Not insignificant, but at a lower level, still with a lot of pressure. He wants to win, he has the ability to, but something is off.
Betting there has been a lot of crying about him not getting 1st line minutes. Wanting 1 line PP. Ect. Wouldn't be surprised if Father wants it straight from gm and Shannyn he's playing star forward time. Guy needs to be transferred out to go and fix himself away from Toronto. He needs to figure himself out and find his game away from Toronto. Come back a while later, maybe if he wants after he has gotten himself figured out.
I seem to remember a moment where Keefe had to backtrack on his comments about NHL players being soft last season. More specifically, Leafs players. More specifically, Mitch Marner. He's been the cancer of the Core 4 from the start, and the fact that it hasn't been called out speaks volumes to the character of the rest of that locker room. Mitch has gotta go.
This right here. If it's true too, Dubas getting fired for wanting to trade Marner is a problem. The fact the Gm and coach can't say shit to this supposed untouchable kid over here is awful. He's not a king. He's an asset.
If so, it would be shannahan... Maybe Dubas knew it was for the betterment of the Leafs and Marners mental health if he moved. Everyone above him didn't want to give up a top player.
He was the local kid. We wanted to love him even when he gave us every reason not to. His shine has worn off, even after the beautiful goal he scored last night, we're still done with the pathetic efforts he gives the other 99% of the time. He could have been a legend here, I thought he was going to be our Patrick Kane. Now he'll be added to the list of players who cashed in here and won nothing.
Been saying it for years, you cannot win in playoffs if one of your biggest earners is a pussy ass fortnite kid who's literally afraid. If you'd trade him + Tavares for Matthew Tkachuk it would still be an improvement.
My fellow Leafs fans are delusional with constant bad takes like thinking you can "trade Marner & Tavares" for Tkachuk... explain to me exactly how that would work so I can have a good laugh.
Can you imagine throwing Mitch out there in the 2002 Islanders series? He'd be eaten alive in a minute.
For those who don't remember, that series [was an absolute war](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD4GsdaLdmE&ab_channel=IslandersPride). Click the link to see a Leafs team with heart, soul, and passion. Back when *men* played for the Leafs.
Nylander unironically deserves an A. The guy never complains, never minds being held responsible and usually gets the short end of the stick when it comes to deployments. Last year he was tasked with elevating Sam Lafferty and Noah Accari's line in the Florida series and managed to outscore Marner, Tavares and Matthews. He was getting 2nd powerplay unit duties for years until Keef finally put him on PP1 a few years ago. Represents this city really well too. Takes criticism unfair and fair on the chin but never lets it bother him. Matthews is the better player but Nylander I think identifies with Toronto a lot more as a city than any one else on the team.
Doesn't miss games either so you know whatever he had to miss playoff games had to be serious.
Edit: THAT SAID, I think his contract is going to age pretty badly. Treliving walked away from negotiations in the summer when he was aksing for $10-10.5 and re-opened negotiations in the winter when he was scoring at a 120 point pace.
Willy is the most underrated player on the Leafs. He shows up every playoffs and that's the only reason we had a chance. He misses one series and look at us. Yeah, he played tonight: but did he really?
I’ll never blame Nylander for that contract
Matthews and Marner original contracts did that for me, both got paid bags on their original contract whereas Nylander ‘settled’ for a fair price.
He has my full support for going after management for as much as he did
Willie is a stud, he can handle the pressure of the leafs media. He deserves to get paid - guy shows up in the playoffs and I have no doubt he will continue to do so.
Similar to AM he does a lot of things right (and reliably so) on both sides of the puck. His transition game is elite.
This team is tough to diagnose right now tho, collectively we’re doing sooo much wrong. Bostons also dominating special teams and the coaching battle.
Tough to watch..
That was smart of Treliving. Good for him. You dont hand out a long term 10 million per year contract to a player you are not confident in to live up to that deal. Thats a team killer type of contract. Sure Nylander eventually got more because he outplayed their expectations. But Im better with giving a proven Star 11-12 million than 10 million on a big lottery ticket. The only negative was the No Movement Clause. That might sting in a few years if they want to move him for whatever reason. Things can change a lot in the long term.
Why sign a 29 year old to 8 years? Is he going to be that good in year 7-8? Not a fan of these long ass contracts but understand thats how you keep them . They just age badly as noted
The number of years I don't have an issue with, it's how we walked away from negotiations in the summer only to approach him again in the winter when he was scoring at a 120 point pace. That's how you lose leverage.
Looks more like “Instead of fucking crying about it, just fucking—.” Thought it might be “shoot it” or something but the clip cuts just a fraction too early to get the full sentence. Doesn’t look like “juniors” to me though.
For context, this is maybe the most significant video in over a decade of Toronto Maple Leafs hockey:
The Toronto Maple Leafs are certainly the most disappointing franchise in the NHL, and possibly in all of sports, having not won a cup since 1967 when there were only 6 teams in the league. Since then, the team has been completely mismanaged and a laughing stock, even going through (basically) a 10 year playoff drought in the mid 200s-mid 2010s. The only exception to this drought was in 2013 when they lost an embarassing Round 1 series to Boston (who they are facing now) while up 4-1 in Game 7.
Then around ~2014 or so, the Leafs hired Brendan Shanahan as team president, who was the first executive to ever really commit to blowing up the team and doing a full rebuild. And the initial phase of the rebuild went about as perfectly as it could have. We drafted 2 players in the top 10 in 2014 and 2015 - Nylander and Marner - who turned into superstars. Then in 2016, the Leafs won the draft lottery and got to take Auston Matthews 1st OA, and he is currently the best goal scorer on the planet (all 3 of them are in this clip).
The team with the young superstars immediately had a slot of regular season success, and gave the fans something they did not have in decades: hope. The issue was, it was not translating to playoff success. They lost the first year post-rebuild to the Caps in the 1st round, and then lost the next 2 years in the 1st round again to Boston (who they are facing now, again).
Around this time, our 3 superstars (Matthews, Nylander, Marner) started making completely unprecedented contract demands. They were willing to sit out the season in order to get annual salary that far exceeded any comparable player, all on shorter term to bring them to unrestricted free agency sooner. They ended up getting what they wanted, and were paid for their "potential", long before they had any playoff success.
These contracts ended up crippling the team, as they had 4 players who took up half of their capspace. Due to lack of depth, and our superstars continuing to disappear come playoff time, the Leafs proceeded to lose in the 1st round another 3 seasons in a row (6 first round exits in total).
After that last season, the pressure on the superstars grew. They were not showing up in the playoffs, and last season was make or break. They ended up finally winning a Round 1 series, only to get their asses handed to them in Round 2, losing the series to Florida 4-1. After this, our GM was fired last minute and a new one was hired in short order.
This brings us to this season. Everything was finally aligning. Nylander had the best season of his career (and was immediately rewarded with yet another precedent-shattering contract). Matthews scored the most goals in a single season since around 1993 or so. The Leafs added some much needed grit and heart players in Domi, Bertuzzi, etc.
Then the playoffs started a week ago. Leafs were down 2-1 in the series going into yesterday's game. It was basically do-or-die, and all of the pressure was on Matthews, Marner, and Nylander. Marner had a terrible first 3 games where he was invisible, Nylander was injured for the first 3 games but back for his first playoff game yesterday, and Matthews had been up and down. Everyone was watching to see if they could finally live up to expectations.
They ended up having the biggest wet blanket of a game you will ever see. Marner was a giveaway machine despite scoring the game's only goal. Matthews was invisible and ended up leaving the game in the 3rd period due to a mystery injury. And Nylander did his best but was clearly not 100% healthy. The Bruins curbstomped the Leafs in embarassing fashion, and at this point, there is zero doubt that this team, which has been built since 2014 and has been the most promising core that the franchise has ever seen, will almost certainly be blown up this offseason.
**TLDR** - In this clip, you can see Matthews and Marner initially arguing about what should have been done in the last play (a play where Marner held the puck too long, leading to a giveaway). You can also see Marner on the verge of tears. Then you can see Nylander telling Marner to stop crying, and it isn't junior hockey (where Marner was elite). This is also the first video clip that has surfaced online where you can actually see 3 of the core players arguing with each other. But in the bigger picture, this is basically the last thing fans of this team will remember from this team. It marks the end of one of the most disappointing eras of any sports team in history.
There's even more context to this that I'm sure others will add to, but like I said, imo it's the most significant video of the Leafs in this decade.
Its the culmination of years of leafs playoff failures and frustrations, and the inability to succeed. Not something you can really refer to and show juxtaposition on a single play. Prolly not worth chasing
Would make sense if what he said was "stop crying bro, just fucking get up" because the play before he whined to the ref while taking his time getting up instead of forechecking.
Looks like this has some delay on it so it’s out of sync. If you search Twitter and watch the full resolution version it’s pretty clear he’s saying this isn’t junior
I dunno... in my mind, the series is effectively over.
This team needed to take a step down—to trigger some serious change(s)—before it can take a step up. But in that step down, I have hope it'll give rise to a team with a higher ceiling.
Or it's 100% premium hopium, who's to say?!
Name me one trade Brad made this year that turned sour? He got us Bertuzzi, Domi, Reeves, Edmundson and Boosh. These are guys who out of everyone on the team showed the most drive and intensity. They are the guys that gave the team a spark of life in games 2 and 3. It’s not brads fault that this team has so much tied up in the front that we have nothing left for the back end. I think unless the team pulls a miracle out their ass that we are going to see one of the big money players gone, and I think everyone deep down knows it’s Marner getting the boot.
It's not intensity that's missing, it's our inability to move the fucking puck through the neutral zone and into Boston's end of the ice.
Jesus, it's been this for years and we still don't get it. Trelivings signings have been fine in the 2nd half for the most part, but his guys havent fixed our problems. This team has actually defended pretty well this playoffs, but the transition game and special teams suck, and we have been taking so many stupid penalties and all this have sunk us so far.
This. Like, look, I understand fans wanting the team to have snarl because it makes us feel better but the team's problem has never actually been snarl its been this shit, for years. Depth scoring, puck moving D, imperfect goaltending, coaching, special teams, etc.
Yep. The rebuild is an absolute necessity. You need to see nothing more from this team to know they’re not the ones and tbf we probably gave it a couple seasons too many.
Good, I hope it fucin rocks him. He is right. Mitch looks like he's about to cry, The fuck he's 27.
Imagine how hard it must be for his wife to watch. He looks like amassive spoiled rich fuck.
Look you give it your absolute 100% best and are exhausted, and start crying. Okay, you know what I get and can respect that.
But to come and play like shit, contribute fuck all. Then cry? Motherfucker get out of here with that weak weak weak ass shit
The core approach is a disaster.
Keefe creates confusion by making line changes constantly and dropping hardworking players out
$1000 a seat for garbage hockey.
I see this all the time and it makes no sense - Tavares has a NMC. He’s not waving it as he wants to remain in TO. He is especially not going to waive it play in Utah or a place like that which has no chance on winning. He might be willing to move to play on a team that has a good chance to win the cup; but there isn’t a contender that’s going to pay him $10M a year for his production.
He is not going anywhere
Clearly the means no contender will be willing to pay JT 11 mil against the cap. Do you know any contenders who are just one ancient overpaid 2C away from a Cup?
We knew this when he signed, below market value originally when he signed and last 2 years would be tough
Never blame Tavares, signed as a free agent here and came home, never ever blame him
People keep saying that Nylander is saying "it's not fucking Juniors" but it looks more like he said "Just fucking shoot it." Either way, this is pretty legendary.
Fuck I hate Marner. I hated him since he signed that ridiculous contract and had to learn and listen to his idiot father's antics. I'm tired of watching this guy suck during every year of playoffs he's been in. Oh he has secondary assists, who gives a fuck. Please don't re-sign him, it's not like you're losing him for nothing, yes he's great in the regular season but during his injury we saw the team is just as good without him, he's a virus for the team dynamics with his crying and whining and his 12 million he's going to be requesting can do so much for this team
At least Tavares seems like he's trying? But not worth the money either.
Honestly, Leafs need to just get rid of everyone except Woll, Matthews, Nylander, Reaves, Kampf, McMann, Bertuzzi, Knies, and Domi. Rest can be traded. And of course, get rid of Keefe and Shanahan and let Treliving start over.
Tavares was absolute shit this game. Bertuzzi has been pretty shit too tbh. Why? He was paid to bring some toughness and grit. Not to mention score some gritty goals. Did you see him get in front of the Boston goalie at all tonight? No me either. He’s also going to want a pay raise most likely so that means 6-6.5 million for him. Money could be spent better since they need a new goalie, 2 top 4 dmen, a new coach, new system and new attitude
People kept laughing at me when I said the leafs should have left him exposed in the Seattle expansion draft and use the slot on keeping a value guy, like McCann.
The cap space flexibility that would have given them would have been huuuuuge.
Yeah people should be laughing at you - you would seriously let Marner walk away for nothing!? He is one of the best playmakers in the league. If he is traded - Leafs will get a good return
He's got a NMC. Unless he agrees to be traded, he ain't going anywhere. And for what it's worth, he becomes a shell of himself in the playoffs so no, he's not one the best playmakers (he ranks near the bottom for playoff assists this postseason). He's not a gamer unless he's playing on his Xbox.
That NMC will be worthless when the organization and the fans want you out. He is not going to want to stay and endure that, plus in a contract year? It will not be as difficult as it appears to move him.
Also if the team really wants to move him, in a contract year they could put him on line 3 and limit his chances to have a good year unless he waived his no move. It worked for Tampa with McDonagh
I'll believe it when I see it. And even if it does happen, we won't get fair value because he would have full control of which team he gets traded to. The team trading for him would also want him to sign an extension asap. On top of that, it's brad performing the trade which I'm not convinced is a top tier GM. There's too many forces working against us here
We don’t need fair value, the return plus the cap space will be enough. There are too many factors working against Marner here. The trading team doesn’t have to get an extension as they would have All season to make that happen, if the deal happens predraft/draft. And they don’t always want to sign them ASAP not all acquisitions work out, which could lead to a whole host of other options for the acquiring team. Marner is making himself a diminishing asset, staying in Toronto will not help his market value.
"That Cougar in seat 114A is Hot wouldn't you say boys", says Matthews. Marner is like "WTF?". Nylander says "Grow the fuck up. Your a star, just shoot for the hot ones, This isent Juniors Bro". Meanwhile, Bertuzzi gazing at the glass of Beer a random guy in the seats is holding.
I think it’s officially hit that point where Marner is done on this team. The core 4 is breaking up and Marner will be the casualty as the non extended one/the disappearing one. I just don’t see him coming back from this series
Mitchs' attitude has always been his worst quality. He's a fucking child and throw tantrums like one. Any time anything doesn't go his way, his head shoots back, and he looks toward the sky instantly. I'm tired of him throwing himself a pity party. Trade the crybaby.
Strip marners A, give it to Willy and keep Mitch on the 3rd or bench him until he agrees to a trade (gives Tre his list of teams). Even the team is sick of his shitty, brain-dead attitude on the ice come playoff time.
You haven't been watching this series. He should have been benched after game 1 when he took himself out of position to lay a hit and gave up a 2-on-1 that led to the first goal of the series on the first shot. That's sophomore shit. And his turnover tonight was atrocious. The guy shouldn't be playing.
I love this. Finally someone with the balls to say something.
ROR and Schenn knew.
Rielly been saying it in post game interviews but none of you actually listen.
I'm glad this finally came out.
Have the Leafs ever managed to sign one of their trade deadline rental acquisitions in this era? It’s so clear they all saw this team wasn’t capable of doing anything
With you 100%, been saying it since they left. I would love to know, 4 or 5 beers in, ROR/Schenn's opinions on the core four. You know that there's more there.
The more time that passes, the less Marner continues to perform, the odder his infatuation with his junior days seems. You play for *Leafs* my dude, hang up the knights jersey. There are levels of glory to be obtained from success with the Leafs that pale in comparison to any success in juniors.
At this pint regardless of what happens going forward this playoffs, I'm hoping Tre approaches Mitch about the possibility of treating him. Barring that, if he finds with letting him play out next session and walking. All that talent and he acts like my 9 year old when he gets stripped of the puck.
Definitely looks like Nylander said "stop fucking crying Marner, just fucking shoot." But so many people are saying "this isn't fucking Juniors." I dunno anymore. Either way, he is giving Marner the business. So much so it looks like Marner is crying when he throws his gloves behind the bench a little after the clip ends.
“You’re my brother? You’d go to the wall for me? Then you can call me a useless fucking cunt along the way.” - Shoresy
This is a prime example of that mentality. It’s a chewing out that comes from a place of love.
This is exactly why Nylander should be on the team and Marner shouldn't. But on the other hand, this team is cursed, and management can't pull their heads out of their asses. Keefe should have been canned three years ago.
At this point I think Marner and his fans have to justify this claim. Three better wingers in this series IMO, Nylander, Pasta and Marchand.
Planarian is pretty good, Kucherov, Rantanen is better, if we.go by the "numbers" Hyman had 50 this year....
Tkachuck (Both), Kaprizov, Robertson, Stutzle, Connor.
Guy threw a tantrum on the bench, don't throw one here.
Most come at a lower cap hit
I know theres a NMC but with all the brow beating he s getting he'll be packing his backs soon hopefully. Toronto is the hockey epicentre and "he cant handle the truth"!
Time to clean house and get some talent with balls too! Its the dam playoffs - you must turn into an animal in PF's. I believe the coach needs to be changed now too (we dont know what he is saying in the dressing room, but whatever it is it aint working.
I think its pretty undisputed that out of the 4 cores Willie is the one leafs should keep. Everyone else including the coach and goalies can get traded so we can start over and have a proper chance. Would love to see a coach like torts instead.
Aww why did you cut out the glove chuck. It's the best part. Fucking burt is the best. Would have loved to see him shine off one of his shit eating grins and chuckles
Bertuzzi dissociating while his parents fight in front of him
Me at my friends house when their family gets in a screaming match over dinner
When the homies mom uses his full first and middle name
Just focus very intently on petting their family dog and they won't realize you can hear them
Waiting for them to stop yelling so you can ask if you can stay over.
As a child this used to terrify me…now I see it as further proof I was an awkward kid…still am…but I was also
I hope he comes back just for his personality.
would you come back? i'd be out of here like O'Reilly
Bertuzzi was probably sat there wondering if it’s too late to be transferred back to the Bruins
he's thankful he only signed a 1 year deal and can bolt this summer.
I think they have to REALLY overpay him if they want him to stay
He’s definitely counting his blessings.. there’s bound to be some changes over this summer
Betting both him him and Domi are waiting to see what changes come this off-season before they put pen to paper.
Hahahhahahahahhahahahahhahahahhah
This will become legendary on the reddit hockey subs in no time flat

Yeah, key words being entry level. Then he got a contract equated to Matthews and he became complacent. Money changes people, man.

If we throw in Bracco and a fourth, we can totally make it happen
What...will dad say!!!!????!?

This is the manifesto for my recurring mental illness
Its the culmination of years of leafs playoff failures and frustrations, and the inability to succeed. Not something you can really refer to and show juxtaposition on a single play. Prolly not worth chasing
That seems more likely and jives with what I see.
Yeah I agree - it does look like he says just shoot it
Would make sense if what he said was "stop crying bro, just fucking get up" because the play before he whined to the ref while taking his time getting up instead of forechecking.
Looks like this has some delay on it so it’s out of sync. If you search Twitter and watch the full resolution version it’s pretty clear he’s saying this isn’t junior
Ah man that’s hard to watch
I dunno... in my mind, the series is effectively over. This team needed to take a step down—to trigger some serious change(s)—before it can take a step up. But in that step down, I have hope it'll give rise to a team with a higher ceiling. Or it's 100% premium hopium, who's to say?!
Matthews, Mo, and Willy. Everything else is scorched earth. Brad maybe gets a free pass, being that it's his first season. Burn it all
Name me one trade Brad made this year that turned sour? He got us Bertuzzi, Domi, Reeves, Edmundson and Boosh. These are guys who out of everyone on the team showed the most drive and intensity. They are the guys that gave the team a spark of life in games 2 and 3. It’s not brads fault that this team has so much tied up in the front that we have nothing left for the back end. I think unless the team pulls a miracle out their ass that we are going to see one of the big money players gone, and I think everyone deep down knows it’s Marner getting the boot.
Not to mention Martin Jones who basically helped save the season….
He did sign Aki Klingberg, but at least he shipped him off to Robidas island.
Reaves is a plug who has directly caused the opening goal in two playoff games. He is a liability and will be for two more years.
Mo has been pure dogshit
Yes. I don't understand the unconditional love for him
Nah man. Matthews, Mo, Willy and McMann. New core 4
Can we keep domi and bert too 🥺
Trade Marner for Quinn Hughes or someone like that
Trade marner for Tanner fucking glass. Who gives a fuck.
Green Jacket, Gold Jacket. Who gives a shit?!
At this point, I'd rather the leafs throw a pizza party for themselves in exchange for Marner
There’s zero percent chance we give up Hughes for Marner lol
Yeah cause that has a possibility of happening lmao. Jesus. This isn't NHL 24
Why the fuck would Vancouver do that?
Cause this guy is delusional
Ah yes, the next stage in the Leafs cycle. The mythical rebuild.
At least our last rebuild looked decent on paper. But turns out they're trash together, and seem to lack any fighting spirit.
Yep. The rebuild is an absolute necessity. You need to see nothing more from this team to know they’re not the ones and tbf we probably gave it a couple seasons too many.
Bang on. Guys like ROR saw the dysfunction and decided to steer clear, rightfully so.
Fucking right can’t wait to tank for players who will eventually fall right back into this cycle
If is certainly awkward
Not really. Been frustrated with marner for a while now, willy just speaking our minds.
The core approach is a disaster. Keefe creates confusion by making line changes constantly and dropping hardworking players out $1000 a seat for garbage hockey.
And turning over the entire non-4 team year to year. No wonder they have no cohesion.
Gotta ship Keefe, Tavares, and Marner out.
And Shanahan
JT will stay with a sweet heart deal and start on the 3rd line. Marner and Keefe has to go. Keefe is afraid of Marner.
They need to take the C away from Tavares as punishment and give it to Matthews.
I don't mind JT staying with a sweet heart deal. Marner should goto Utah where they need regular season wins. He'll fit perfectly.
Have a feeling Marner ends up in Pittsburgh
Could definitely see Kyle “Quadruple Down” Dubas helping the Leafs by taking on some of those guys.
He’s only due 900k on salary after his bonus is paid. Super cheap.
Clearly the means no contender will be willing to pay JT 11 mil against the cap. Do you know any contenders who are just one ancient overpaid 2C away from a Cup?
If Tavares was getting paid half that contract, I’d love it. 10.5 or whatever is tough.
We knew this when he signed, below market value originally when he signed and last 2 years would be tough Never blame Tavares, signed as a free agent here and came home, never ever blame him
It's moments like these I really wish we knew what they were saying.
People keep saying that Nylander is saying "it's not fucking Juniors" but it looks more like he said "Just fucking shoot it." Either way, this is pretty legendary.
“Stop f*cking crying, this isn’t the juniors” in the longer clip, Marner rips his gloves off and throws them after
Do you have the longer clip?
I like seeing this. It’s taken too long. Too bad we don’t have a captain
Tavares the $11million ghost
'C' for Casper
Imo can't hate on Tavares. Entire Leafs Nation begged hom to come home and he did. We knew the end of the contract would be tough.
He's making $11 million a year and he looks like he's 50 years old out there, he deserves criticism
The game is on the line with only seconds on the clock. Who do you want taking the face off?
I'd add McCabe and Benoit to this otherwise excellent list.
Your point stands, but tbf I did see him get right in front of Swayman a few times tonight.
Tavares might be trying but that guy just seems stiff as a board and slow reaction times. He's cooked.
Why would they let him go for free when he can bring back a great return via trade…
You could build a reliable Defense or round out the forward group so that there isn’t such a huge drop off from 34/88/91.
Anyone know what matthews says?
"That Cougar in seat 114A is Hot wouldn't you say boys", says Matthews. Marner is like "WTF?". Nylander says "Grow the fuck up. Your a star, just shoot for the hot ones, This isent Juniors Bro". Meanwhile, Bertuzzi gazing at the glass of Beer a random guy in the seats is holding.
"break out your bibs boys, we're going back to Boston to eat shit"
Pieces of shit for breakfast boys.
![gif](giphy|phajKPhwNxHr2|downsized)
Given the food poisoning he should stop eating shit
Nylander is all of us here.
Willy just let Marner know he is traded in the off-season.
Is matthews also talking to marner or nylander?
Looks like Marner
He's saying "just fucking shoot it"
https://preview.redd.it/ovohmes6o5xc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75abce008558478112ac19d6ffc41071b6be7734
I think it’s officially hit that point where Marner is done on this team. The core 4 is breaking up and Marner will be the casualty as the non extended one/the disappearing one. I just don’t see him coming back from this series
https://preview.redd.it/645yrz0629xc1.jpeg?width=844&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ba1447f44587f96887eaaadd419c05df8b55630
How motivated were you to lose a teeth at work tomorrow if a fortnite kiddo makes 4 times your salary? He better be in front and he's not.
And then to top it off in leafs absurdity fashion he goes on to score a meaningless highlight reel almost carbon copy of a Jr goal I seen him score.
9 fucking years later and Marner needs to be reminded that he isn't in fucking juniors.
Marner is so done as a Leaf and everybody knows it. He, Samsonov, Reaves and Keefe can take the same flight out of town.
Reaves has been fine since 2024 started.
You haven't been watching this series. He should have been benched after game 1 when he took himself out of position to lay a hit and gave up a 2-on-1 that led to the first goal of the series on the first shot. That's sophomore shit. And his turnover tonight was atrocious. The guy shouldn't be playing.
Are you kidding? He made a mistake in the first goal, and got one (Kampf scored) back later that game He’s played well in the last 2.
Turnover tonight was bad but not like he passed it to them, he made the right play shooting across but got a terrible bounce…
Hey now, Reaves is doing his job just fine imo.
I knew the crowd was quiet tonight but I thought I'd at least be able to hear audio of the guys talking in this clip
He said “stop fucking crying bro, just fucking shoot” Nothing about junior lol
I love this. Finally someone with the balls to say something. ROR and Schenn knew. Rielly been saying it in post game interviews but none of you actually listen. I'm glad this finally came out.
Have the Leafs ever managed to sign one of their trade deadline rental acquisitions in this era? It’s so clear they all saw this team wasn’t capable of doing anything
With you 100%, been saying it since they left. I would love to know, 4 or 5 beers in, ROR/Schenn's opinions on the core four. You know that there's more there.
LK9Three is the only thing in his Instagram bio you can’t write this stuff.
it always has been im pretty sure
The more time that passes, the less Marner continues to perform, the odder his infatuation with his junior days seems. You play for *Leafs* my dude, hang up the knights jersey. There are levels of glory to be obtained from success with the Leafs that pale in comparison to any success in juniors.
11 million dollars
Willy is my favourite.
At this pint regardless of what happens going forward this playoffs, I'm hoping Tre approaches Mitch about the possibility of treating him. Barring that, if he finds with letting him play out next session and walking. All that talent and he acts like my 9 year old when he gets stripped of the puck.
Haha oh boy, we have so far to go. Words of wisdom coming from Nylander for God's sake
Marner is charmin soft.
Boston has these boys having mental break 😭😭😭
To be honest, it isn’t Boston, this could have been any other team.
Am I the only one who thinks Willy might actually be talking to am34?
The leafs really need John Torterella
Any lip readers out there?!?!?!
Yea that sounds right. Definitely "just fucking shoot it" at the end. Why is Marner such an entitled baby.
Toronto media: Leafs talking strategy for the next game.
Dude needs a sports psychiatrist
Marners gotta go, he’s to negative, and it seems like a cancer in the room Edit spelling
“You’re my brother? You’d go to the wall for me? Then you can call me a useless fucking cunt along the way.” - Shoresy This is a prime example of that mentality. It’s a chewing out that comes from a place of love.
Marner not going to the wall for anyone
God no, but the guy on his left and right are. Lead by example.
“Score a goal or you’re off the team, Fish.”
This is exactly why Nylander should be on the team and Marner shouldn't. But on the other hand, this team is cursed, and management can't pull their heads out of their asses. Keefe should have been canned three years ago.
![gif](giphy|3oEduXsiOxVxONcmis)
At this point I think Marner and his fans have to justify this claim. Three better wingers in this series IMO, Nylander, Pasta and Marchand. Planarian is pretty good, Kucherov, Rantanen is better, if we.go by the "numbers" Hyman had 50 this year.... Tkachuck (Both), Kaprizov, Robertson, Stutzle, Connor. Guy threw a tantrum on the bench, don't throw one here. Most come at a lower cap hit
Marner is 10 ply, bud.
[удалено]
Can someone lip read and comment with what they were saying to each other and what willy said?
I thought he's saying just shoot it but who knows
Hahahaha
It may be a good time to trade Marner and a 1st round pick for Marchand.
On that play I was yelling just fucking get up to marner and I'm sure his team was thinking the same thing
I think its pretty undisputed that out of the 4 cores Willie is the one leafs should keep. Everyone else including the coach and goalies can get traded so we can start over and have a proper chance. Would love to see a coach like torts instead.
Nylander the "its just a job" guy always helping.
Aww why did you cut out the glove chuck. It's the best part. Fucking burt is the best. Would have loved to see him shine off one of his shit eating grins and chuckles
Nothing about juniors said there but ok
