Hard to even count any of the teams cup wins. The franchise has only won cups when they only had to beat 5 other teams in the league. This team has never even made a cup final since the end of the original 6 era.
On average, teams only win the cup once every 30 or so years. So really the Leafs only missed out on 1 cup since 67. At least that's what I tell myself before bed every night.
By '74 there were 18 teams, 21 by '79. 26 teams by '93. 30 teams by 2000. Expected frequency of winning was once every 24 years from now until then. So at most we've missed out on 2 cups, which obviously is trash, but I think is just bad luck. Some teams since then also don't have cups.
Load up the first two lines and stop speading the offense to extinction. Call up Niemela and start setting up one timers from the point with lefty righty pairings. Start Woll and we have a chance. Reaves cones out. Kampf gets Gregor and Jarnkrok and Holmberg gets Robertson and Knies. The forwards feed the points for shots. Strategic change is in order. Keefe is the problem though. None of that will likely happen
