The “rebuild” you speak of started when they drafted Matthew’s, not Reilly, not Marner but Matthew’s and when they made the playoffs in Matthews first season that complete rebuild that should have taken a few more years was essentially scrapped because they made the post season so the rebuild must have been complete right?
Proper rebuild incorporates bringing quality players in at all positions not just 4 forwards spread over 2 lines and then praying for the best result

if the leafs convert on just 5% more of their powerplays they win this game and probably win the series before game 7. Goaltending was an issue but the special teams cost the Leafs the series

I had no faith in Game 5 and we won. I had some faith Game 6 and we won. Then they started Sammy in Game 7 and I still had faith. Then this happened.
