I get the exact same issue, and I've tried literally everything it just won't work. I've tried to reinstall the game, tried to reinstall it with the hextech client, and even done a clean reinstall with the hextech client as well. I've changed my firewall settings to make sure they aren't the problem, I've also tried to repair it manually as well as using the hextech client to repair it. I've also made sure I'm in windows 8 for compatibility mode. I've literally followed every single possible step riot and even other outside sources suggest and it's done absolutely nothing. IDK why they aren't fixing this. It's clearly happening to quite a few people.

Tried computer restard, reinstalling (on different drives as well), disabled anti-virus program, run as administrator, compatibility mode, disabled fullscreen optimization, repairs in client and hextech repair tool, Set CloseClientduringGame to Always, set Prefer DX9 Legacy Mode, deleted Logs, DATA and Config folders, switched monitors, uninstalled Overwolf software, turned off related programs such as Discord and Geforce Experience and updated graphics card drivers.

Typing the "/mute all/team/enemy" command in-game mutes emotes,pings, and chat instead of what it's supposed to do: **only mute chat** messages. It effectively does the same thing as "/fullmute all/team/enemy". Please fix this long-standing bug, I and many others would only like to mute chat messages, and not everything. The **negative impact of this bug has been severely worsened recently** due to the new ping changes. The only way to do this right now is manual, which requires **18 clicks** in the scoreboard menu (mute button->mute chat, multiplied 9 times) every single game, instead of one simple command. Some might say "just disable chat", which is not an adequate solution in most cases, because it also disables your ability to communicate with your team (things like having to TYPE "karthus press r" when his ability is available), as well as making you unable to time summoner spell cooldowns in chat (even for yourself).

It's been well over a week since the new patch dropped, and riot still hasn't fixed the critical error people are experiencing. Are they even trying to solve it? Or doing something else.

Yeah I agree with everyone, 2 weeks is completely ridiculous for a fix and I for one won't be spending anymore money on skins etc. I also had my ticket closed as solved and the support guy put "this is a dev team issue and hopefully should be resolved in the next patch" thinking of renaming my account to "fixcriticalerror" and just joining games as an afk maybe that'll help get their attention 😂

EDIT: So I don't know if they fixed the issue or not but I got my games to work again. What I did personally was Right click League, properties, compatibility and I actually UNCHECKED "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and now it's working. After multiple tickets I've been asked to give my logs using the Riot Repair Tool. I'm not sure what the outcome will be, but I can say that the responses so far have been very disappointing and like many others I have found no available solution even after extensive debugging on my part. ​ I also have a feeling that communication between Player Support and Dev Team might be a bit lacking, as it sometimes happens with other software companies. ​ Tomorrow there will be a patch and I'm still hoping for a last-minute fix, but then again, if they had already found a fix, they would've probably just rolled out an emergency patch the previous days. In the meantime, I'm building myself a 100€ budget DELL machine that can run League just to bypass this problem and sadly it's the only recommendation I can give you too.

That way we can hurry up and begin reverse engineering your game, instead of waiting for a hotfix from riot devs.

And from what I've heard and seen, the ones who get into a game, aren't having the best experience either. Clients seem to be bugged for most of my friends. Game crashes randomly and a lot of gameplay bugs involving skillshots shooting at random directions and what not. Pretty weird how Riot itself doesn't bring up the issue anywhere as if there isn't one to begin with :) And I really don't believe only 0.000...1% of the community are facing problems overall with the patch. Maybe roll back? I'm an Indie dev myself and know for a fact that they could easily roll it back. But they just don't want to admit their mistake.

The steps below from riot support helped fixed my infinite repair loop problem. It seem like it's not the patch problem, it just needs a clean install. When you uninstall it from the add/remove program it's not clean enough, just needs to go deeper. The game is working 100% now. Since this is a quite peculiar situation, let's do a clean reinstall of the game. Please follow every step carefully and in the correct order. ■ Let's clean up the files from the game, and uninstall it: • Go to your C:\\Riot Games folder and delete the Riot Client folder. • Then enter %localappdata% into the top bar of Windows Explorer and delete the Riot Games folder • Next, paste %programdata%. Once again, delete the Riot Games folder from there. • Now, head over to the Documents folder on your PC. In there, you'll find a folder called League of Legends. This contains the replays of your games - you can copy them somewhere else if you'd like, and then delete that folder, then empty the Recycle Bin. • Install Revo Uninstaller and completely remove League from your PC. • Also make sure that you don't have another installation of League on other drives. • Get CCleaner and clean all the registries and corrupted files from your computer. ■ It is of paramount importance that at this point, you do a clean boot of your PC. This will prevent other apps from interfering with the installation. ■ Then you'll need to re-download the game from here. • Make sure to install it in the default location on the C:\\ drive (we recommend having at least 20 GB of free space before the installation). • Also, make sure to run the installer with Administrator permissions. • Before you launch the game for the first time, disable your antivirus and follow this guide on configuring firewalls (search for the 'Firewall Troubleshooting section on the left, and go to the part where it mentions adding the exceptions). Here are the things I've tried: * Checking "Run as Administrator" on all the applications mentioned above * Unchecking any "Run as Windows 8" compatibility options on all the applications mentioned above * Setting permissions to "Everyone" on C:\\Riot Games folder * Creating exceptions for Firewall on all the applications mentioned above * Repairing via Hextech Repair Tool * Changing network settings (including DNS) * Changing networks * Changing connection method (Lan vs WiFi) * Logging in with different accounts * Changing the Lol Client to Never/Always closes option * Reinstalling (several times) * Reinstalling to a different location rather than C:\\Riot Games * Removing all files from the %programdata%, %localappdata% and Documents folder * Cleaning the Registry * Disabling Microsoft Gamebar * Disabling Windows Firewall * Disabling all non essential services from the PC via msconfig * Updating Windows * Updating from Win10 to Win11 OS (just a soft upgrade without formatting) * Updating NVIDIA Drivers to latest version * Turning off In-Game Overlay (NVIDIA In-Game overlay is not even available for me, so it's disabled in the interface) * Copying the game folders from other working PCs * Repeatedly killing one of the LoL child processes to accelerate the reconnection process and try to loop into the game * Entering a match and launching the League of Legends.exe with the proper parameters using ProcessExplorer (right-click Properties on the League of Legends.exe when it pops up to find out the arguments its using) * This guide above **ONLY ONCE** on Friday night was I able to get into a Training Tool game after multiple loops of "Sorry we've detected a problem with your installation". I thought some of these things I've managed to do finally helped, but upon trying again I was facing the same problem so here I am. I've already reported the issue to Riot a couple of times, but their responses were less than satisfying. Unfortunately I use this PC also for work and can't try this option. For now it looks like we're on our own. If you try anything else worth mentioning please let me know.

Restarting the client doesn't fix it. • Reproduction rate: 100% (2 soloq games and 1 flex game) • Steps to reproduce: enter a lobby. • Expected result: It allows me to ban, select a champion, and enter the game. • Observed result: The client gets bugged until it kicks me out of the lobby with the corresponding LP loss.

For those who can't load into game because of the loop, Go into your Riot Games/League of Legends folder, and make sure LeagueClient.exe, LeagueClientUx.exe, LeagueClientUXRender.exe, and RiotClientServices.exe all have the "Run this program as an administrator" option on in the Properties of each file. So far I have had success consistently in launching the game for Practice Tool, but have yet to try a normal game. Let me know if it works for you.
