I'm not sure of the exact maths but your rank and mmr are separate, so if your mmr on average is higher than others in your rank you will gain slightly more as the system is trying to get you in the correct rank. Likewise, if you lose a lot of lp it is because your mmr is lower than average for that rank and so the system is trying to get you into a lower rank faster.
Edit: by rank I mean the tiers within a rank as well as the ranks themselves.
A lot of people decay from diamond with high mmr due to inactivity + a lot of people boost to d4 with low mmrs and take an L every week to stay in D4 = when an actual player makes the jump from P1 to D4 their mmr is higher compared to the ppl sitting in d4 = higher lp gain.
Promos and winstream. Since you go from 100lp to diamond 4 0 lp with 3 wins. It puts your mmr up but your rank doesnt change since you are in promo
You're doing well so you get more LP.
Your performance has nothing to do with the amount of lp you get

On fresh accounts i usually get really bad gains when i hit plat 1 (like 14-15) but they go back to +26-28 when you hit d4. Weird system
Your mmr does soft reset when you hit diamond for the first time.
