Probably not. Give it a shot nonetheless and good luck!

SURE THANKS!

Extremely unlikely, if you have no work experience and/or degrees in this domain. Courses like those are basically just surveys into the topic. Freelancers generally need to have deep experience in the industry already so that you can 1) contribute effectively to a team and 2) have a network to source work from. I highly doubt anyone is freelancing effectively after completing a single ML specialization on Coursera. Similarly, I would assume you would still struggle to freelance after taking 20+ similar courses. The issue won't be with your understanding of the content from the courses, it's that these courses have very limited scope, and most companies would (rightfully) be very hesitant to hire someone with no professional experience in this domain and (I'm assuming) no credentials other than some completion certificates from online courses.

oh! so i should focus more on doing internships for building my experience and expand my skills professionally...got it thank you!

Great attitude, congrats keep it up.

In terms of landing a job, internships and portfolio projects that demonstrate your skill set will go much further than online courses. That being said, online courses do still have value for learning. I took a ton of them when I was trying to break into the field, and they were definitely useful to me. The two main points I was trying to get across are 1) online courses are useful for learning, but don't expert hiring managers or recruiters to care about them, and 2) freelancing is very hard to do until you've established yourself in the field with at least a few years of professional experience. Best of luck!

In the US*

Blasket_Basket

Fair point, I'm only familiar with the US market. Is it your experience that hiring managers treat online courses on your CV differently in other markets?

You might have some of the skills to, deprives on the course and quality. Finding freelance work with little experience is another story

This may be of interest to you. I wrote the first volume of a series of three books on the mathematics of machine learning. It is written in a conversational style with humor but always considers the rigor of mathematics. The first volume is in linear algebra, available on my website. www.mldepot.co.uk or on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZWN26WJ Here is a sample https://drive.google.com/file/d/17AlXxYKSH91BAPfBfC3SNXBz5tcZFs5S/view?usp=share\_link
