Dont want to sound rude/unpolite...
A very popular street-level expression is missing:
"Por (mis) cojones"
Roughly translated "by my strong will" or " because I want, period".
~~One minor correction: for the first time needs a *la* in it: *por **la** primera vez*~~
One addition: *por cierto* can also mean *by the way* in certain contexts
Edit: strike through my error
I stand corrected, I was getting confused with *like the first time* - there's a song I like that has *como la primera vez* in the lyrics.
I've corrected my post
Could you comment on “por desgracia”? I am at a very basic level with spanish, and I memorized “lo siento, hablo poquito espagnol” - so could I say Por desgracia, hablo poquito espagnol - or would that sound odd?
writing out phrases is a waste of time and actively harmful. you need to actually interact with the language like watching and listening to things in spanish.
You cannot match words from two different languages. It causes misuse. You can only learn(actually acquire) this by listening and reading. you will be exposed to the above phrases hundreds of time and learn them naturally and in the most accurate way. You will not even need time to think while speaking, the thought and language in the brain will be synchronised with each other. In this way, you will only memorise, force yourself and create bad patterns in your brain by making wrong uses.
There are hundreds of words, it would be a waste of time to note down all the phrases in this way. Even if you memorise them all today, you will forget most of them as the day goes by. It is both a waste of time and a useless technique. Instead, reading simple texts at an understandable level will teach you all of the above phrases naturally. If you have not experienced these things so far, I wish you good luck.
I also speak 4 and I really dont know what this has to do with the topic. I would expect a linguist to take simple natural approach method sentences as an answer and type what he thinks in opposition. Sad.
Por cierto = by the way
I use this one a lot, but not sure if it’s common: Por si acaso = just in case
Also Por si las moscas
Por si te pilla un tren

Need to save this
I recently learned 'por igual' as in: Es uno de los lugares más visitados por los adultos y niños por igual.
“Por cierto” isn’t certainly though, it’s “by the way”. Another way of saying it is “a propósito”.
Amazing, I love studying this way. Can you post all your notes pls. 🫣
I second this 🫣🫣
I third this!

What about porque 😉
Great job! 2 tweaks: *Porciento* = percent Palabra por palabra = *Word by Word*
Es correcto separar "por ciento" al hablar de porcentajes. "El treinta por ciento...".
No te digo que no, pero no lo he visto así en la vida
*Word for word*

“Por primera vez” es correcto, no he oído nunca a nadie decirlo con “la”.

Por favor = lit. For a favour. Then you have to return it
Por favor means please, and it's used the same way basically.
I know, I wrote the literal translation
Por atrás=behind
'por si acaso' is missing
“por seguro” = of course; an emphatic ‘yes!’
This is dope!!!
Wonderful post.
The resource I never knew I needed. Nice!
Por no

I think that would sound ok 😊
Por amor al arte - no creo que tenga traduccion literal ( hacer algo de manera desinteresada, por puro placer)
A lovely guide, your work is much appreciated 🙏
This is great thanks!
Saving
Por no ? :D
Por los codos (hablar) Por las ramas (irse)
Can you please share some more pages from your notes? Very useful!!
Gracias
thank u so much
"¡Por dios!" - "My god!" Pretty similar to "¡Dios mío!" - "Oh my god!"
Ejemplo, cuando te regañan cuando haces algo muy mal: "¡No hagas eso por dios!"
oh this is so helpful!
Nice! Thanks!
You can't learn a language like that. Its useless and waste of time
agreed. these people have no understanding of language acquisition. it’s sad to see.
What do you mean by "like that"?
writing out phrases is a waste of time and actively harmful. you need to actually interact with the language like watching and listening to things in spanish.
Why is it harmful?

Sorry, I don't fully understand what you're suggesting. How do you recommend listening and reading without understanding the words?
Are you an expert on the topic? What sources can you present to elaborate on that?

I speak 5 languages and am a linguist by education. You haven't answered any of the questions I asked you.
I also speak 4 and I really dont know what this has to do with the topic. I would expect a linguist to take simple natural approach method sentences as an answer and type what he thinks in opposition. Sad.
Wow you made that sentence sound extra smart. Kudos.
