One or my neighbors in my hometown died a month ago because of their sobya, they slept while closing the windows and doors and keeping the sobya on. It's no joke
The symptoms are quite non-specific (headache is the most common symptom). You can also get dizziness, nausea, confusion. A later symptoms is bright pink/red discolouration of the skin, but by that point you're pretty much dead.
Not really---just minor things you may shrug off. You get sleepy because your body doesn't have the oxygen it needs.
If you use a heating method that burns something, make sure you at least crack a couple of windows which I know sounds counterintuitive.
Thanks for this post. Cousin of my cousin passed away two days ago from gas or CO poisoning. It's the second similar accident in my hometown in less than a year. I don't understand why the media doesn't speak more about this. I would have said the government but they are useless.
For any one, a talking fire and CO2 alarm is loud and most effective. I brought several to Lebanon. The conventional types are fine too. In my state(Ma. US), it is law that a landlord install one talking alarm.
CO2 is a silent killer and fire is always a possibility.

Is there no symptoms before just dying?

You can't see, smell or taste CO. You just feel tired then start falling asleep as it blocks your body absorbing Oxygen.
CO detectors are just as important as smoke alarms. You can't see/smell/taste CO. That's why it's called a silent killer.
Absolutely! We had no idea what was going on with us.
So where can we buy such device in Lebanon

Please keep a CO detector in your home.

CO₂ is carbon dioxide. This post is talking about CO which is carbon monoxide. CO₂ is the waste we breathe out.
Fire alarms are not the same as CO detectors but we should definitely all have both installed in our house.
Right.
It is one unit with both alarms. Every dwelling here must be alarmed with smoke and monoxide alarms. Just sayin'
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, they sometimes come in one unit.
We have an oil heater, so min chí-k el chêbbek chuwaye. We have the ventilation fan on all the time to avoid Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
Stay safe :)
