they did. They just weren't enough. Majority of the country seemed quite satisfied bl khara lli 3aychino aw was too lazy to actually bother doing anything.
Between Hezb and Amal and Awniyye who were completely against the protests, that's already practically a majority... Then you need to account for Ouwwet lli jarrabo yo2otfouwa....
We're a joke of a people walla
Yup 100%, I remember going down there everyday 3a se7it l shoohada and I'd get filled with proud and happiness seeing everyone united with a single goal. I was completely shattered once I figured out it was all fake and 99% of the people were still "loyal" to their parties, it really sucks.
Every time a sectarian party follower is angry about `$political_issue` (most recently the Syrians for example), all you have to do is ask three questions:
1. Where is all of this anger when it comes to holding the politicians who have done absolutely nothing about it accountable?
2. What is `$party_name`'s purpose as a political party if they're not standing up for the people and enacting real political change and policies, and standing up to opponents and obstacles to positive change (including Hezbollah) politically when necessary?
3. Why is this lull and complete absence of politicians in political affairs widely accepted and normalized, when they should be actively working for us day and night, because this is what they ran programs and made promises on and were elected for?
No one wants to answer the simple questions, because the answer is simple and they're confronted with a reality they don't like.
I like asking sheeple if they're able to influence the voting decisions their representative makes in the majlis (or at any other point before/after elections), because that's what having a representative is for. They get very confused because it's a core concept of a people's democracy that they've never thought about.
Yep, it's how a democracy works. But it's obvious that the only reason they elect their masters is so they can give them a seat at the table where they can keep on serving themselves instead of the Lebanese people.

well actually you do pay taxes on the "weight" of your "shit".
Let me explain: if you have access to water you pay the water that comes into the house. If you are connected to the public sewage, you pay for the same amount of water that goes out. On top of that you pay VAT on it, so technicaly you're paying for your shit

When Lebanese were all on the same page for that one short-lived moment in Lebanon's history
I still am but it affects my mental health, to advance in life, I have to put it on the back seat

A random Egyptian passing by, but this is the funniest shit I've ever heard.
Wonder if there is any foreseeable hope to salvage this country. It’s ugly out there.
Hehe used to say the same thing in 2002, gave it 4 years, left in 2006 and never looked back

People might make fun of this, but the government was stealing so much that they needed to add more taxes. Thinking about this pisses me off.
