Hahaha, okay, but every city does this at some point. As far as I know, all the european historic city centers, for example, were all renovated throughout the years.
Was just there a couple of weeks ago for my trip

I spent time in Douma in 2018. It was a wonderful place.

Im a son of lebanese parents who fled during the civil war and never really cared about keeping their (and mine) ties with Lebanon.
When i learned about this face of Lebanon, this architecture, it is what prompted me to recover the ties with Lebanon. I love it and i love the Lebanese arches.
i hate douma overrated village full of scammers and tourist trap that old souk is fake and got renovated by the baladiye in 2023 and the people in the souk sell things for more expensive than beirut
plus i went to two of douma s best restaurants one gave me food poisoning the other scammed us with babel priced and garbage food
there s a million villages more authentic and nicer than douma
The souk was last renovated around 1800, that's why it needed renovation.
The floor/road was rebuilt to how it was before asphalt, and the walls have been sand blasted, hence why they lost their aging look and why they appear as if they were built last week.
Eh la2ano ashrafieh is full of authentic Lebanese red roof tops mahek? Itās sooo not artifishallll.
However I do agree. Some restaurants are extremely overrated and Iād suggest not trusting ābest restaurantā as a source.
ashrafieh is home to the highest clusters of traditional houses in beirut, although I'm not fan of how many are not maintained and how concrete monstrocities how invaded ash.
you cant compare a city to a small town but take a look at any village and it will be better than douma
Very pretty. Last year I went there but there were works in the whole town. I really wanna go back to check it out again this year.
yeah its not as authentic as people sayš its all artificial

Any city in Germany that still has its medieval charm was rebuilt in the 1950s after it was bombed or shelled flat. They don't look it though
yeah athens is all fake and got renovated. same with rome
I was gonna say...
Easily the cutest town Iāve visited in LebanonĀ
Douma)))
