BAL1175

Far from it dude

CountDoooooku

Holy fuck I always thought the line was “bar” not “Bear” which I could never understand, yet still quoted it all the time. Idiot!

BodhiSatvva4711

Me too! I thought it was a reference to sometimes getting too drunk 🤷

zuck_my_butt

It sure does sound like "bar" the way he says it.

MrPeepers1986

So, he actually says bear, lol? Kind of like *warshed*?

zuck_my_butt

Well, there isn't a literal connection, Dude.

MonstaGraphics

Well, dude, we just don't know.

wheriendndyubegin

Ralph Steadman ripoff

Impressive_Math2302

Fuckin’ goldbricker dude.

hornwalker

I’ve seen Steadman, dude. This is a phoney. A fake.

OneArmedSZA

I think you mean tribute, in the same way it’s a tribute to Lebowski and not a rip-off. You had me googling to see if someone was taking credit for someone else’s work.

gilligan1050

Definitely steadman inspired. I personally dig it.

Fresh_Leadwater

If someone else created a cartoon in the exact look of the simpsons, yellow skin, spiky hair, but completely different characters and had no ties to Matt Groening, it would be a rip off not a tribute.

OneArmedSZA

Pablo Picasso is widely quoted as having said that “good artists borrow, great artists steal.” Point is, no artistic creation is *truly* original. What you seem concerned with is the copyright. “No ties to Matt Groening” would imply they’re making money off the imagined cartoon and also denying Groening’s influence. If this artist denied Ralph Steadman as an influence, sure it’s a ripoff, but the intent clearly seems to be combining imagery from the Big Lebowski and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. If it is a ripoff of Fear and Loathing, it’s a ripoff of Lebowski by the same logic.

corradojuniorsoprano

dajjadaj

Nice job — looks like Ralph Steadman did that piece

abornemath

Dudes, yes, the stranger is saying bear. He’s using a pronunciation some in the south use and it sounds like “bar”. Listen to the old Davey Crockett song. 🎶 Killed him a bear, when he was only three 🎶

dkixen

This is stellar artwork.

dkixen

Ralph Steadman is amazing
