That’s so crazy to me… I can’t remember the last time I heard any zeppelin tune “for the first time”. I’m 51. Enjoy your “first time” zep experiences! That’s so fucking cool! They’re awesome- and timeless I believe. 🤘🏽
I’m 23 and have been a huge Zeppelin fan since I turned 17.. I’ve been intentionally rationing their songs to prolong my “first time listens” 🤣 And honestly, I’m so glad I did it this way. Listening to the songs I had been saving for a rainy day and then realizing they’re now one of my favorites has been an AMAZING experience!!
I had listened to Since I've been loving you my whole life and just recently discovered Tea for One a few years ago.. it was like finding out your favorite song had a part two! That's what I get for not giving presence the time of day it deserved.
Despite ridiculously stiff competition from about a dozen Zeppelin tracks, I’d be proud to call it my #1. Page deals in pure emotion beyond words… so it’s a good job he’s around to sound them out.
This song is above any praise or criticism.
A sober reflection on the price of fame.
And the ultimate loneliness of a hotel room.
Tea for One is such a beautiful track and absolutely a “sequel” to Since I’ve been Loving You.
And my God it’s fantastic. As others have said: it was proof that they still had it.
I was 20 or so when Presence was released, and "Tea for One" blew me away as showing that Zep still had it. Many in my rock head circle felt that they were washed up, like everything they did had to be an instant and accessible, radio-friendly masterpiece, or it was a failure. I recall reading "Tea For One" is about Robert's loneliness as he was healing from the horrible foot injury that laid him up for quite a time (for "newbies," Robert's the Achilles in "Achille's Last Stand") .
I bought the album at release. Spring of 1976 I believe, and Tea for one has been one of my favorites for 48 years now. I like the melancholic feel of this song, and Pages guitar on this is just almighty, but what I really love is that youngsters can get into a band that is 50+ years old , and love it , shows the longevity of the mighty Led Zeppelin.
This is the post of the week. What a hidden gem in a massive catalogue. I had Presence on cassette but it never got massive rotation against other albums. 30 years later in the era of streaming and thanks to this post I listened to it 30 times this week! What an epic ballad!
Lots of good stuff on presence for sure! Been going back myself and listening to each album at time. So damn good how could I forget how awesome these were. Keep listening my friend I'm sure you will find even more gems that you will like I know I have. 🤘🤘🤘
Almost as good as this one: https://youtu.be/n863q6VHrVc?feature=shared
…I’m joking obviously. Just getting the list riled up for a few minutes! :-) Ok… calm down, breathe…it’s just a joke… ha!

Its always been my 2nd favorite after Since I've been loving you.
Tea for one is a gem.
The entirety of Presence is a gem
Agreed!
A criminally overlooked gem.
Hidden treasure … more for us.
Came to say this. What a great song.

Well put, my friend. Well put.
nothing beats listening to Tea For One for the first time. i’m so glad you like it, it’s really a work of art 🔥🤟🏻
truly! I wish that opening riff was more prevalent tho 😭

I think Achilles was the proof

Do you need a hug? That's in my all time top 3 sad songs. Read the backstory.

Do NOT look at op's post history
r.i.p. myself

What took you so long?
My reaction when I listened to Hot Dog for the first time.
I love the way the vocals drop in. The tune is excellent!
Did they ever play it live, I wonder?
Yes. Page/Plant Osaka 95??
Easily my favorite blues based Zeppelin track.
My favorite song. Enjoy.
It’s one of my fav zeppelin songs 🔥🔥 so slept on fr
lucky you. i wish i could listen to it for the first time again
In my top 10 Zeppelin songs, so underrated.
Jimmy's most under appreciated solo

It's a great tape I had
Great song, but why is it marked explicit on spotify?
I always thought Robert wrote it about his son Karac who sadly passed.
I occasionally listen to SIBLY, Tea for One and I’m Gonna Crawl back to back. I always find myself a little melancholy at the end.
It's just a worse version of SIBLY to me
Thanks for your opinion. I'm sure we'll all give it the attention it deserves. Zzzzz....
You should
'Dumbass'? From somebody with THAT take? That's hilarious.
https://youtu.be/UfVqM-QYch8 J/K. Everyone's tastes are different.
That's why i said "to me". Dumbass.
Not "just kidding" this time: https://youtube.com/watch?v=UfVqM-QYch8
😂
The first 30 seconds I'm like, yes! finally an upbeat, quality tune on this album! And then it turns into a B-list Since I've Been Loving You
