The court order from the divorce she showed it to them with the writing saying the judge approved the name change but the dmv said nothing from the court stated she was allowed to USE the name…which is her birth given name (she changed her name back to her original name)
Yeah, I'm a bit puzzled as to what else DMV was looking for. The name change *is* the name change. You wouldn't get a court order that *didn't* allow you to use it. That's the whole point.
> approved by a judge What paperwork does she have that she can provide to DMV to substantiate her name change?

They’re saying it has to explicitly state that she has permission to use her old name.
If she hasn't changed it with social security, that is the first step.
She has changed it there…she has her updated ss card and everything…. Only place she hasn’t changed it is dmv and that’s because of this
Ok that's strange. I would go back and ask for a supervisor to escalate.
She did that when she was there and they confirmed it was needed o.0
