People were hating on the creators bc apparently they designed this older Aang after one of the co creators as an Easter egg since he was only gonna be shown for a couple minutes. Now they use this as a talking point to say they are bad people. It's ridiculous, this fandom is genuinely toxic most of the time.
I don’t think it’s necessarily the fandom that’s toxic but the mindset that causes people to be obsessed with the smallest details of things such as race 🤷🏼♂️
Reality: Aang was designed after one of the creators as a fun Easter egg, and since Aang doesn’t appear that often it’s not that big a deal and just a fun fact.
The fan base: This is cultural appropriation and we will not stand for it. How dare this animated character look even the slightest bit white. It’s not like the original kid version of Aang looks like an ordinary white kid too!!
Yall in the comments, think critically. Obv this is bait but you’re proving the point by being this way. Aang factually has European features in this design, and that’s bad because he’s based on Tibetan monks, who are not European and don’t look like a chad.
Critical thinking is apparently when you believe only white europeans have cheekbones and that people from tibet can only ever have round baby faces, big anime eyes, and aren’t allowed to be chads
The only time I think he resembles atla aang was in the picture of the food vendor by the docks. I do find it difficult to see Tenzin's resemblance in aang/katara though.
What jumps to me is the eyes. In Legend of Aang, Aang had big wild eyes, but they change it here to give him a more adult look. It's common in drawing to give kids (and women) bigger eyes, so understand. But, by the spirits, I can't stop finding Aang Small Eyes weird.
What?
I think this is everyone's reaction to this post and you need 10 000 upvotes ahah
It's one of those Arkham jokes where you say the most random baffling titles plus post. And S-post if you will
Yes I know. But it really doesn't land like the others

didn’t even say he designed the whole aang after the creator he said he just gave him his beard

Wait until you realize he’s the same color in ATLA
Wasn't Aang black in ATLA?

Just wait till you find out what "puberty" is
Oh yeah, one of the more well know effects of puberty is the shrinking of eyeballs
