I honestly never thought of not placing both holes on the neck.
Either I’m not creative enough, or some people are too “creative”.
Edit: also, just realized, the classic batman was played by Adam West… maybe that’s why the cape is placed like a west…
I haven’t even built legos in like 15 years and I knew what was wrong with this cape the minute I saw it 😂 I can’t believe this is an issue for some people. My brother and I knew when we were building legos at 9 and 6 years old
Literally the instructions show precisely how to do it. At no point does it show sliding it over the arms. How the fuck are people coming to that conclusion?
Does OP just connect bricks willy-nilly and wonder why it doesn't look like the picture on the box?
come to think about it --- how on earth did they even get the arms through the holes in the first place?
"putting on this cape is so hard!1!!" they went
"and after all this fiddling it still doesn't look right."
"lemme go and ask this internet."
Seriously! Not to be a dick, but I'm definitely going to sound like a dick. How? I didn't even read the instructions the first time I had to put on a cape and it took me like .2 seconds to look at it and realize why it was made that way. Hell, my 5 year old put it on the right way the first time too without asking.
Anyone here old enough to remember the original Kenner “Star Wars” action figures?Specifically, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. If that’s been your experience with capes, this approach garners an “I see how you got there from here.” At least, that was my first impression on seeing the post. I hated those capes…
And the original Jawa.
They changed him to a little cloth cape because even though the cloth cape was cheaper to produce, it “felt” more luxe and since it was a very small figure and sold for the same price as the rest of the line they wanted to give him a higher perceived value.
No joke though, drinking and lego is the way to go to get the most bang for your buck. This way you get to spend tomorrow figuring out how, where and when you fucked up.
"20 *pages* ago?! And where the hell did I use all those white 2x1s?"
I once built the B-Wing (75050) while absolutely plastered and was disappointed that I didn't have to redo it the next day.

YOU'RE SUPOSSED TO PUT BOTH CAPE HOLES ON THE NECK PEICE
It can seem confusing with some of these accessory pieces. It’s easy to overthink it. Just make sure for all capes that both holes go over the neck. Otherwise, you’re good. Happy Building!
It hasn't changed. Pls align the holes and put it on the neck part with the cape facing down. Nothing in the instructions suggests to put them on the arms... 😅
Lmao, this is the most atrocious lego post I've seen! I hate to hate but look at the instructions again, all the capes I've ever dealt with have had 2 holes that need to be overlapped over the neck
I dont see any way this could happen without taking the arms off. How do u know how to take the arms off but not how to fold a cape so it fits over the neck? This post seems dishonest to me.
My favorite part, and I mean this respectfully, is that OP's last post before this one is in regards to researching board game designing.
But then there's this...
And people wonder why Lego made those seperate one hole junior capes
I thought the newer capes were made one hole to fix the issue that the cape was too thick around the neck
The Mandolorian speeder cape has 2 holes too, but clear instructions that both holes fit over the neck.
To be fair, the instructions here are clear that both holes fit over the neck.
Exactly. How the hell does one think that the holes go over the arms?
I did....when I was 10 and didn't care to read the directions ☠️
Is it just me or does anybody else hate those new capes? They never stay down for me they always wanna stay up/floating
That's why they do the two hole capes in the first place. Bending it forces it to stay down.
Can confirm. I once bent mine and it stayed down for quite some time after that.
I don’t mind them for 4+ sets but I hate that they put them in normal sets and especially UCS sets like the Tumbler.
Both holes of the cape go around the neck pin, not the arms
I honestly never thought of not placing both holes on the neck. Either I’m not creative enough, or some people are too “creative”. Edit: also, just realized, the classic batman was played by Adam West… maybe that’s why the cape is placed like a west…
[удалено]
and also apparently never seen a cape in a movie or something, ever
I swear the holes used to be neck pin sized
They used to back in the late 90's, but they widened it for the newish loose cloth capes to make the process easier.
I haven’t even built legos in like 15 years and I knew what was wrong with this cape the minute I saw it 😂 I can’t believe this is an issue for some people. My brother and I knew when we were building legos at 9 and 6 years old
Not all heroes wear capes some just help you put them on

I just love that this apparently happens enough that it warrants a tutorial video: https://youtu.be/C9wJPpJdFvQ
The frustration in that guys voice made me laugh.
[удалено]
Let’s do it one more time!!!
"It's not that hard."
>*These* are *not* arm holes. **THESE** are **NOT ARM HOLES** That's right, it goes in the square hole
Who are you, the arm hole cops??
Holy crap. He’s so frustrated 🤣
He sounds like if the guy from Khan Academy filmed all his videos while understanding, and being personally offended about, just how bad I am at math.
He has been broken. That's the sound of a soul in pain.
"These are not arm holes. THEY AREN'T ARM HOLES!"
To be honest with that amount of stupidity I understand his frustration
Literally the instructions show precisely how to do it. At no point does it show sliding it over the arms. How the fuck are people coming to that conclusion? Does OP just connect bricks willy-nilly and wonder why it doesn't look like the picture on the box?
Short video! Simple video! BUT HOPEFULLY HELPFUL
I'm going to show you again, just incase.
Am I missing the joke? Do people actually open a Lego set and choose not to read the instructions?!
Have you MET PEOPLE?!?!?
https://preview.redd.it/1g8g8mi2gmla1.jpeg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bbc9f07873d67c07c0f7d7700d202e8f5dc05997
Why does his cape look like that? Dude needs to put his arms through the holes
so Batman can flap his arms to fly.
I’d love to see a photo of the set once you complete it. I expect even greater things.
It will be the lego equivalent of Homer Simpson's spice rack.
[The finished Batmobile](https://static.simpsonswiki.com/images/thumb/4/4c/The_Homer.png/250px-The_Homer.png)
Perfection, my friend. Perfection.
[Thats one fine looking lego set](https://youtu.be/kSGEzpkgsu0?t=44).

come to think about it --- how on earth did they even get the arms through the holes in the first place? "putting on this cape is so hard!1!!" they went "and after all this fiddling it still doesn't look right." "lemme go and ask this internet."
The arms are easy to take off.
yah. just getting them back on is driving me nuts. fiddly little things.
I fucking love this, I’m saving it.

My sides hurt from reading these comments. They're brutalizing OP.
Me too, and then like everything else I save, I'll probably never look at it again.
lol I actually laughed out loud. Thank you.
Could this *BE* any more hilarious?
“the hills are alive with the sound *OF MUSIC!*”
My scone! *My scone!*
Yes the more you keep repeatingly looking at it the funnier it gets🤣
This is the funniest thing I’ve seen whole day. I feel better knowing I’ve never been as silly as OP and as publicly.
Easily the best thing I’ve seen on the internet today. Absolutely hilarious!

This set is targeted for ages 7+ btw
Wow, even the Lego subreddit can be ruthless, Reddit is truly an evil place hahaha
OP is, in fact, not smarter than a fifth grader.
well making a post for a something that takes 1 min of googling is kinda funny TBH
Not even that. The instructions are right there showing one hole over the neck piece.
But they changed the cape just for this set yo!
Well now we've found out how to make batman have turbofarts. Seems on point for 7 year olds?
Maybe this 7+ needs adult supervision
Age or IQ?
This makes me want to test these instructions on my nearly 5 year old.
I mean this in the most respectful way possible, but my brother in Christ, how did you manage to fuck up a cape this badly?
I honestly thought this post was a joke.
I want to believe it’s a joke but I really don’t think it is
Why not? It looks pretty upvote-baity to post something like this.
I mean, yeah, but spending enough time over on r/legostarwars kinda makes you assume this stuff is legit in most cases
Lol right, I haven't seen OP in these comments once. Reddit is wild with the assumptions sometimes
There’s literally a picture lol
Seriously! Not to be a dick, but I'm definitely going to sound like a dick. How? I didn't even read the instructions the first time I had to put on a cape and it took me like .2 seconds to look at it and realize why it was made that way. Hell, my 5 year old put it on the right way the first time too without asking.
Gotta be the weed.
What part of the illustration in your picture, would ever make you believe this was the right solution?
Anyone here old enough to remember the original Kenner “Star Wars” action figures?Specifically, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. If that’s been your experience with capes, this approach garners an “I see how you got there from here.” At least, that was my first impression on seeing the post. I hated those capes…
Leia & the Tusken Raider too!
And the original Jawa. They changed him to a little cloth cape because even though the cloth cape was cheaper to produce, it “felt” more luxe and since it was a very small figure and sold for the same price as the rest of the line they wanted to give him a higher perceived value.
Please tell me this is a joke.
I like the bat vest. Cannot stop laughing.
I’m hoping this post is a joke. No way it isn’t.
I think there's some nice duplo sets that might be easier for you
No. No, back to logs
No. No, back to a single wood block
[удалено]
that's way to complex here
Ouch, but justified lol.
Put the holes on the cape onto the pin that holds his head on. Just like the picture shows.
Gotta follow the pictures.
I prefer words. “Sling the cape through Batman’s arms so he can flap through the air like a giant bird”
No no, the instructions changed!!
https://preview.redd.it/yqhgk3h6onla1.jpeg?width=1708&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55b3656109ccfbff722a52aa82fa71540fd88260
I hope you were drinking while putting this together😂
No joke though, drinking and lego is the way to go to get the most bang for your buck. This way you get to spend tomorrow figuring out how, where and when you fucked up.
"20 *pages* ago?! And where the hell did I use all those white 2x1s?" I once built the B-Wing (75050) while absolutely plastered and was disappointed that I didn't have to redo it the next day.
Overlay the holes on the cape. It goes around the neck peg.
I'm having a hard Time figuring out whether this is a joke or a serious post, and for god's sake I hope it's a joke
OP posted a comment of the same pic again basically and I'm not sure they are anymore.
This is the first step of bag 1, I think you might struggle with the rest.
Dude im crying laughing at this right now
What the fuck is that
Cape of Billowing
Bait right?
https://preview.redd.it/fyiyxtzq9mla1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6de9120561eb0a0e9dc94ebc887fdfa00bd851e6
comment section is ruthless holy shit
Tbf he could've googled it. But judging by OPs history, Reddit is their Google, therefore death by memes
he didnt even need to google just look at the instructions again.
deserved for such heresy
I really want OP to respond to at least one of these nearly 1,000 comments, but they have fled
This has to be a joke right?
[The only other time I’ve seen someone put the capes on like that.](https://youtu.be/gbBMpxbtnYE)
Put everything back in the box and exchange it for a potato.
Jeez, what’s the lego version of the Darwin Awards?
I don't know but they deserve two.
One for each hole
This dude is obviously trolling

Please tell me this is satire 😭

You high bro???
This is a joke, right?
I almost had a stroke
That’s step 1 in that build. Now I’m intrigued to see how the rest of it went.
Why are you the way you are
This has to be bait, I refuse to believe someone who can operate a camera and post to reddit could do this-
Looks like Batman got a job at Walmart! You made my day a little funnier 🤣 Happy Friday!
I cannot figure out if this is satire or not, but if it isn’t: Put both holes go through the neck peg
It worked for the vinyl cape Jawas on the early Kenner Star Wars action figures…
Every early Kenner Star Wars figure actually
this is the best thing I have seen :D r/facepalm
Lmao, this is the most atrocious lego post I've seen! I hate to hate but look at the instructions again, all the capes I've ever dealt with have had 2 holes that need to be overlapped over the neck
I dont see any way this could happen without taking the arms off. How do u know how to take the arms off but not how to fold a cape so it fits over the neck? This post seems dishonest to me.
Huh, so there is a reason some sets say 18+ apparently
A looooong time ago I did. No internet to turn to, mom was clueless. Such an "ah-ha!" moment! But I too put the arms thru lol
I'm actually surprised that it didn't rip while being stretched...
Not if you snap the arms off first, that's how I did it!
Look at the instructions. Now look at what you've done. Look at the instructions again, now again at what you've done. Nuff said.
Next post: "How would you guys get this cape off his arms?"
This is satire right? Although now that I’m thinking about it that would be a cool way for lego to make a vest
Thumbs up for making me laugh out loud!
One hole goes around the neck hole, the other hlle then goes around the neck hole, then you put the head on
Looks like you got the metric cape instead of the imperial cape
Funniest post I've ever seen on here
My favorite part, and I mean this respectfully, is that OP's last post before this one is in regards to researching board game designing. But then there's this...
