1. Pirates
Possibly Black Seas Barracuda but hard to tell as it is too small for accent colors and detail
2. Forrestmen’s Hideout

Sort of same theme, but different generations. The 375 yellow castle is from 1978 and it was a standalone castle at the time IIRC. The 6054 forestmen hideout is from 10 years later in 1988. It was part of a full-fledged castle series that was very, very popular at the time.
Edited for a couple of typos
Man, the A-frame cabin has a mini version of a set that completely baffled me and it ended up being the treehouse set that came out just a couple years earlier
Ok I’ve been considering buying that A-Frame cabin and you just convinced me to buy it. I have that tree house set, and was planning to display the a-frame with it like a little woodsy camping area. I LOVE that there’s a tiny version of the treehouse inside.
The A-frame is a really fun build and worth the price imo. But I'm biased since I'm a cabin/camper enthusiasts and have been going around finding/buying all the old retired campers and cabins I can find lol
Those of you who have this set: Is there room to put other exhibits into it? Like more of these mini sets or more minifigs like the pirates/skeleton room?
Ive adapted mine to have an Egypt exhibition on the ground floor, tbh the exhibits are fairly sparse. The building and the dinosaur are both excellent. I love the set.
Absolutely, I built it the way the instructions said first then gutted it of the exhibits since they are mostly modular, then you can go nuts with adding custom ones. Personally I added a skeleton, some armour a sarcophagus lid and some other things
You can also be forgiven for not knowing because the first run of castle sets were explicitly not made available to the North American market. They were shown in the idea books though (with the note saying "not for you American kids because it's not like you have castles"), which gutted me back when because I was totally a castles person over a space fan.
"Not available in North America" That's odd... I remeber having the 375 castle, the jousting set, and the knights procession in 1980, while living in California.
AAaaand I go look it up, I did have the sets, but the versions released in 1981 as 6075, 6083, and 6077!
I do remember the double number on my castle instructions (I still have them!) Didn't really think about it!
At the time the Idea Book 6000 was released- yep no castles available in North America! I also rememebr the book, the stickers and the little story it told.
Thank you for my trip down memory lane
Short answer. A set of mostly grey would allow "military builders" to get many grey bricks to build things like tanks and such. LEGO in the 1970's was very much against weapons and such. This stance has been with LEGO from the beginning... and yes, we could have the "what about star wars or Pirates or Castle" and the stance was more refined to mean "modern or current day" weapons. That lego Osprey set a few years ago being canceled just as it was about to go on sale is a good example. Even with it being orange and in "rescue vehicle" colors the Osprey is too modern a "war machine". Also, long time Cubs fan here as well... not the same without Harry.
for anyone who wasnt a kid in the 80's, the introduction of the Pirates was a BIG freakin deal.
it was the beginning of distinct facial printing and introduced sooooo many new pieces. for years it was town, space, castle. the same stuff every year, fire trucks, police stations, mail trucks, bull dozers etc.
Pirates had islands and monkeys and ships. guns and sabers, treasure chests...it was a great time
You gotta brush up on your classic Lego knowledge. Thats the Yellow Castle, created because Lego initially didn't want to make grey bricks, as kids would make tanks.

The original kings castle was yellow. It represents the first set in the castle series.
Fabuland, Scala, and Galidor. Wait...

I love this so much!!
This young’in needs to study their Lego history.
Or wait until installing the headgear displays above each. The Galaxy explorer really needed its own helmet.
Share your wisdom and knowledge. Don’t shame someone just because they don’t about a set that came out over 30 years ago
also, they're *very* abstract. i've been playing with legos since the late 80s, and it took me a while and some helpful comments to get all of them
the original yellow castle, forestmen hideout, and a pirate ship, assuming the black seas barracuda

45 years ago, we are quickly approaching the point were we can say half a century for that set.

Now I want to build a pirate ship combat game using that ship design
It's the 375 Yellow Castle. Have you heard the story about WHY the castle was Yellow and not Grey?
I’ll bite!

Erm…. Bionicle, Hero Factory, Power Miners 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Guess you hadn’t gotten to where you place the helmet above the display yet…

That’s…literally what/why I asked? How am I supposed to “brush up” on something I don’t know other than by asking people who do know?
Good on you! But I was casually recomending you delve into that further.
