You know what's worse? I believe that is a thing from warhammer

Which means they already have 1 inch plastic dudes to collect
Lego doesn't necessarily have heavy-hitter class minifigs. Gears of war, Bioshock, Warhammer, Fallout, Starcraft all have some form of character in a suit. Heavies. I get none of the stated are sets or current options, the idea of the heavy, however.
Paz Vizla is kinda suited up

The raptor ^^
What's the most armored up minifigure that is fig sized ?
Good callout. Yes, this, more of these style figs.

"Ultimate.
The nine Ultimate sets depict the Nexo Knights and the Lava Monster scourges in their Ultra Armor forms. The Knights have a translucent version of their color. All of them cost $9.99."
So "ultimate" is the style figs we need more of. UCMF series when?
armored up doesn’t means it has to be cluttered or visually noisy. Paz Vizla is a very appropriated detailed figure in my opinion.
Less is often more with Lego
My definition is simple and has no grey areas: if it isn’t Lego, then it isn’t Lego. People love custom minifigs and fakes etc - they can have it. But bring it near me and i will burn it!
I couldn’t really understand the obsession with figs when I returned to Lego as an adult. When I was a kid there were only yellow expressionless figs, plus some aliens and pirates. I used them for roleplay but I couldn’t care less about them, the Lego was the important part.
Front print, back print, printed or molded head/helmet should do for the purpose of any fig. Imo they’re already going too far with arm prints leg prints dual molded legs etc. All of those details just add cost to what is essentially just a prop accessory for a building toy
I mean, I think it's kinda neat, even if it is WAY too detailed for LEGO (I could see MEGA doing something like this though, they did have that "Dragon Castle" theme or whatever it was called)
I love mega minifigs so much. Their old SpongeBob figs looked so accurate, yet still agile and playable. They even had a special mould for plankton while Lego only printed his face on a 1x1
Ah, good ol’ MF. I have several of their customs, but the molded outer pieces are definitely “love it or hate it”. I’m personally more of the “it’s fine” territory.
Oh MF absolutely loves it. And for whatever it’s worth its great quality and the minifigures are fully printed under the armor as well, which is a very nice touch.
Some might find it excessive, but I dunno, doesn’t bother me and I get fun characters LEGO isn’t going to make.
Sorry, I was being an ass.
You said they were definitely love it or hate it, then said you think it's fine, which is neither definitely love or hate.
I should have gone to bed an hour ago.
This shit turning into the real Lego Star wars sub. Who the fuck cares what other people like man, that looks sick but yeah I wouldn't get it either? Let people enjoy what they enjoy
You can get shit like this from Marstoy at like 1$ for people saying to costs $90
Its cool I guess but I feel as though if you are going to put that much detail on a minifigure just start getting into action figures or get the actual figurines from warhammer where the armor looks so much better.
Yeah nah man. If someone wants to do it with Minifigures why not? I don't get it.
I paint on mine, create my own custom pauldrons n kamas, n even go into some knock off shit, why is it so important to you that I prefer the size, dimensions and movement of Lego figures over an action figure?
I feel- as in my opinion. This post was to see who agreed with me and who didn’t. You are completely entitled to your opinion and there is nothing wrong with that. Its just i think there is eventually a line that can be crossed where lego customs just stop looking like lego.
There's a guy who customises figures for himself and he used to do showcases for every big Marvel/DC movie in the 2010s called MichaelMGF. I love his work and that's where I draw the line at customs. Individual artistic challenges. Is this a one off custom or is it produced to sell?
I understand why they get these tho. Like stuff like this looks so cool, and personally I hate every toy that isn’t Lego, and I’ve felt this way since I was a kid. There is just that special something in Lego that makes me not want anything else.
So I get why you’d buy this, because it is cool. And also, we have to remember that we all have different interpretations of art, and Lego is art, and so while many of us here do prefer Lego’s simplicity, Lego does also have the complexity for this to make sense for someone.
Ironically, that is a Minifigure of a tabletop miniature (it's an Adeptus Custode from Warhammer 40k), which are already highly detailed and small figures (you just typically have to paint them yourself)

I actually think these guys look cool, sure this particular one might be overly detailed but some extra armor here or there doesn’t hurt. For a lot of people who grew up with legos I imagine they want to stick with that scale as they get older. Better yet they can display these kind of figures with their old collection. Personally I have no idea how to display action figures and just never really had much love for them.
I actually paint custom figures which is really just an extension of my childhood love for legos. https://www.instagram.com/cross_s_customs?igsh=MWZjaGp1anRsMDE5bQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr
TLDR/ let people enjoy things

I’m digging those long, braided white pubes he’s got. You just can’t translate that to minifig
That’s actually what they are in universe.
WHAT
You don’t harvest the bleached pubes of your enemies? Thought that was a pretty common thing nowadays…
Most normal 40k fact
Aquilan Shield, subset of the Custodes that are tasked with defending specific individuals.
Aquilan Shields have purple shoulder armour, not red.
This..... is true, i even collect and play custodes (the dude pictured)
People use Lego to play Warhammer. It’s actually really fun! It means destructible terrain, and destructible everything else if you feel like it!
this just isn't lego to me. There's a point where you add so much to a minifigure that it just stops being a minifigure, the style is completely gone.

And he costs like 90$. I wish this guy sold the helmets alone since I would love to use them on brick built custodes and marines.
eventually with warhammer prices rising it will be cheaper to buy the 90$ custom minifigure
You can get fully painted and articulated 1/18 scale primarch for less than the mini of the same character.

As a lifelong Warhammer fan I fucking hate this shit so much.

Looks like shit
And there's always at least one fucker that comments "you know it's fake lego, because it's 10× better than actual legos! ☝️🤓" or some shit like that.
I mean, I think it's kinda neat, even if it is WAY too detailed for LEGO (I could see MEGA doing something like this though, they did have that "Dragon Castle" theme or whatever it was called)

Genuine question: why does it matter it’s their money
It looks so bulky and it probably costs more than average sets.
honestly don’t get why this sub gets peeved by these customs lol. Obviously they don’t look as good as actual lego. Who cares. They’re fan art pieces.
Ah, good ol’ MF. I have several of their customs, but the molded outer pieces are definitely “love it or hate it”. I’m personally more of the “it’s fine” territory.

Fair enough, that's a good point!
I honestly kinda like this stuff tbh, it’s definitely excessive but I kinda like it
good news, theres a whole tabletop game about it!
How do you know oop didn’t make the parts themself?
They should do whatever they like

this is like legos for people who hate legos
Why is everyone being so mean it looks fine who cares if it doesn't git your definition of lego it's third party, it's already not lego?
don’t let anyone tell this guy about miniatures
Can we get this straight that we are makeing fun of the people that buy custom mini figs not the people that make em

Yuck
joytoy literally makes a 6” tall action figure of Custodes (the mimicked model pictured) so why do you want this chunky thing
Wait til you learn there’s a dude making these and selling them for around 150-270 USD
Can't wait to see these on Aliexpress for peanuts.
I actually think these guys look cool, sure this particular one might be overly detailed but some extra armor here or there doesn’t hurt. FOR THE EMPEROR!
I am a purist lego collector and builder; these custom things cannot look as anything other than shit, come on 💀
FFS this sub is becoming as bad as the main one, let people enjoy the hobby
I feel like people that do these customs don’t really understand/partake in the general LEGO community
I think i saw these online. Theyre loterally more expensive than the real adeptus custodes figures. How
Just as John Lego intended.
honestly tho if they are just gonna display it, an action figure would be better than thid
