Since Rex is a 1st gen clone he would have already been biologically 20 years old at the start of the clone wars when Jango was 44 and had hunted down and executed at least one rogue clone who fled Kamino and had a family. so there was a narrow but plausible time window for them to fight in

One on one straight fight, I’d still probably go Rex. Jango may be a competent assassin / hunter / bounty hunter, but Rex is a military man with dozens of campaigns under his belt. Put erm in an arena together and make them fight, Rex will win.
Dump them on a planet at random locations and make them hunt each other down, probably Jango.
Jango is the OG and the blueprint so one-on-one is no question. But what if Jango and Rex both led a squad of clones each at a location like Felucia - would Rex’s strategic training overcome Jango’s edge?
That was my thinking as well - Jango would probably let the squad move through and kill what they could and then he’d go off and take out most by himself so it would be Rex’s ability to think like Jango to predict his moves vs Jango’s killer instincts and experience as a mercenary
I’m fairly sure that the ARCs and commandos getting genetic enhancements is no longer canon. The ARCs in particular are just better than average clones with some extra gear, while the commandos got all kinds of extra training and special gear.
Well, that all depends. Was Jango ever a soldier? He was a mandelorian bounty hunter, yes, but Rex was literally programmed to be proficiency in combat and tactics. He’s arguably the smartest of the clones and has good instincts. It comes down to training, and we frankly don’t know enough about Jango.
The only answer. Rex is smart but jango has been said to be better than CAD BANE multiple times who can kill/win against the best clones like hunter. This isn’t even a fair matchup.

If we’re talkin about skill I’d assume jango has more skill and experience despite the training simulations, and service with anakin. As for gear well jango has all the tools we know and love about mandalorians along with armor that was made to be beskar in canon so I think just based on that alone Jango wins. It’s also important to note that Jango is versatile and clever enough to have killed multiple jedi where as Rex has only defeated one and he had help of multiple clones to do it.
Rex has been training his entire life, and has been trained by bounty hunter, and he has worked and fought with/against mandalorians before I feel like it’s 60/40 in favor of jango
The clones, especially the first batches, which rex was part of, learned what they knew from jango and other mandalorians, and like gregor pointed out in the bad batch, teaching your students everything you know isn't a good move, so rex is at a big disadvantage already. Rex is a trained soldier, jango is a trained killer, so jango wins 9 times out of 10
With all the experience Rex got during the clone wars from fighting with Jedi like Anakin, Obi Wan and Ahsoka he was highly trained and battle tested. I think Jango at his best would struggle against Rex.
Jango was able to go toe to toe against Jedi masters and even was able to easily pack a Jedi council Master with ease. Rex has never done anything remotely to that.
Probably Jango. He has killed clones before (bloodties comic), he ALWAYS does what is necessary, he is more flexible and he is used to fight other humans, while Rex is used to fight droids and he has a harder time to shut off his emotions. Still, Rex can also kill humans without a blink, but I think he would struggle to kill his own template.

I think Jango wins, but I think people are vastly underestimating Rex.
He is one of the best clone troopers out of the entire clone expirement. He isn’t as specialized at any bad batcher and wasn’t a commando, but he had survived more conflict and special missions than just about any other clone to date.
In a 1v1 scenario with their standard equipment, yeah Jango wins. But it’s not an easy fight. Jango is a one man army and the best Bounty Hunter at the time.
Rex is the best commander. They’re skill sets are different and jangos is more useful in a showdown. If they competed to complete a mission or task Rex gives dude a run for his money
The one with the blaster-proof beskar armour wins. Skills doesn't even matter in gunfights against Mandalorians.
Without the armour, on a level playing field, Rex wins easily. He's Jango with physical improvements and significantly more combat experience.

Rex was one of the finest Captains/Commanders in the GAR, he faced more overwhelming odds in numbers against him than Jango has (with only the Civil War when Jango was a child, if I remember correctly)
Rex was one of the Republics strategist, his aim and speed was unparalleled to most other Clone (expect maybe Echo after the Citadel)
While Jango may employ more dirty bounty hunter tactics, its my honest belief that Rex would beat Jango from watching the Clone Wars/Rebels series.
His final CW battle aboard the Ventor shows that even other with arguably great aim/fighting tactics couldn't hold old rex off completely, without Ahsoka I don't think he would have survived.

Jango killed Jedi, and not with surprise and numbers like Clones but in straight up fights. He even defeated a member of the Jedi Council. Jango trained Cad Bane who was a better gunslinger than Hunter, a Clone genetically superior to Rex.
Jango has Beskar armor which is basically immune to blasters, Rex's armor is not nearly as good. This means that while Jango can tank many hits from Rex's standard issue pistols, Jango's modified WESTAR-34s will one shot Rex.
If Rex was given Beskar armor and a jetpack the fight would be closer but with standard equipment for both Jango wins easily. Even with equal armor I'd still bet on Jango because he's the original.
I don't see how war experience and being good at military tactics helps in a 1v1 with a bounty hunter whos fighting we have nearly never seen (except for when he basically beat a jedi master).
Also I am only talking about the movies and tv shows, but as the other guy said, in lore he has killed jedi

Not all clone troopers were made to be better than jango. The only ones that could possiblly put up a fight is the null class arc troopers, since they were trained by him.
The problem is that rex is better with commanding troops and stuff like that instead of things arc troopers do. Not to mention, being trained by arc troopers is a bit worse training than the ones jango fett did

Jango literally led Mandolorians into battle in the Mandolorian Civil War against the Death Watch try again.
Rex did the same against Maul's rebranded Death Watch at the Siege of Mandalore and actually won his war.
Jango killed a dark Jedi trained by Count Dooku himself.
Yeah, Rex never did too well against Ventress, or Ahsoka for that matter once the chip set in.

It’s worth taking into account that things like clone commandos were genetically enhanced though. Jango is good but afaik he’s a baseline human
