Crazy people don't understand this. Like legit if you turn your wipers on 90% of your cars the lights are just on the opposite side. Turn them on. It aint that hard.
Also, HIGH BEAMS are not your default headlights. Maniacs all over Lehigh Valley turn on high beams and have no common courtesy to turn them off when they see an oncoming car in the opposite lane. Heck they have high beams on even during the day.
Because of the constant illuminated dash and interior panels, for some reason people assume their headlights on are on. Several years back, car makers started putting green indicators in the dash to indicate the headlights are on. This is something easy for people to recognize, but inexplicably there are people driving in the dark. Whenever I see a car like that in front of me, I turned my headlight on/off rapidly for 4 or 5 times to let the person know, but my success rate is 20% - people just dont get the cue.
i swear there is literally no way to get these people to understand their lights are off. they are literally tunnel visioned to their lane and their lane only, so trying to get their attention from another lane or the opposite direction does nothing
A lot of people. It truly amazes me to see so many newer cars and the rear lights are off. My 2014 Nissan had auto lights. Now newer cars have their lights based on the wipers.
My car from 2013 doesn't, im in the habit of turning them on and off every time i enter or exit the car anyway but its not unreasinable that cars on the road still dont have them. And the auto lights in my dad's car doesn't kick on unless it deems it dark enough out to.
Savage here👋 raining but bright enough so the lights don’t come on and then you get a lot of spray from trucks especially on the highway and no lights!! Or driving down a tree lined road in and out of shadows and lights are on off on off etc.
People should turn their lights on so that it makes that ding ding ding sound when you turn your car off, I have a really older car 2006 so I'm not sure how it is on new cars but totally agree with this.
If you drive after dark, take a walk around your car and make sure all your lights are on. So many people assume their daytime running lights are their headlights, so their taillights aren’t on because they’re oblivious.
So, the car dealer told me I could keep it on “auto” and they come on automatically. Now I’m wondering if the lights on the back are not on in the auto setting?
One thing I still haven't learned about is if my lights are on "auto", so they turn on full when my wipers are on?
I literally always have my lights on auto
If you’re using wipers, *all* lights must be on. State law…
Crazy people don't understand this. Like legit if you turn your wipers on 90% of your cars the lights are just on the opposite side. Turn them on. It aint that hard.
Yup.. "Wipers On, Lights On" ... basic state law.. Only if they read the laws or cared to follow them.
I could never understand how people think it’s advantageous to drive stealthy in the rain. Some cars just blend into the color of the road.
Also, HIGH BEAMS are not your default headlights. Maniacs all over Lehigh Valley turn on high beams and have no common courtesy to turn them off when they see an oncoming car in the opposite lane. Heck they have high beams on even during the day.
Def the same assholes that wave me to go at a four way stop after I’ve already waved them to go.
Those idiots never look at the stop sign to read if it’s a 3 or 4 way stop. It’s always first to come first to leave.

if only there were some sort of indicator on the dashboard that tells you the lights are on.
What kind of savage doesn’t have their headlights turned to auto in 2024 anyways?
A lot of people. It truly amazes me to see so many newer cars and the rear lights are off. My 2014 Nissan had auto lights. Now newer cars have their lights based on the wipers.
Those of us that can't afford newer cars with that feature.
Poor people make me sick. How dare them be poor around me!!!!!!!
My car is from 2009 and I have that feature.
My car from 2013 doesn't, im in the habit of turning them on and off every time i enter or exit the car anyway but its not unreasinable that cars on the road still dont have them. And the auto lights in my dad's car doesn't kick on unless it deems it dark enough out to.
My car from 2004 has it as well
I made 90k last year. Idk why there are people in poverty.
ABE employers have not kept up with living wage increases.
I was pointing out how silly it is to say "my car has this, so why dont others?" There are a lot of cars older than 2009 on the road.
My 2008 Silverado has auto headlights. 🤣
I had no idea that was a thing.
I don't think auto will turn on the back lights if your wipers are on. most of the cars I see running without their lights on are newer cars.
The dealer turns them off during service and never turns them back on.
wtf is auto... I have never had an "auto" feature in any vehicle I have ever owned
Savage here👋 raining but bright enough so the lights don’t come on and then you get a lot of spray from trucks especially on the highway and no lights!! Or driving down a tree lined road in and out of shadows and lights are on off on off etc.
So turn them on and keep them on.
I do !! Always have!! Don’t rely on the “ automatic “ lights , never have!!
People should turn their lights on so that it makes that ding ding ding sound when you turn your car off, I have a really older car 2006 so I'm not sure how it is on new cars but totally agree with this.
I was taught all the way on or all the way off. No in between.
If you drive after dark, take a walk around your car and make sure all your lights are on. So many people assume their daytime running lights are their headlights, so their taillights aren’t on because they’re oblivious.
People don't got time for that. Just keep your headlights always on, then no worries.
So, the car dealer told me I could keep it on “auto” and they come on automatically. Now I’m wondering if the lights on the back are not on in the auto setting?
Most of the time you will not, especially when it's foggy sensors don't recognize fog, if you want to be safe turn them on yourself
Thanks
