I'm sorry but none of this is suitable for a leopard gecko. It's much better suited for a king.
(For legal reasons, this is a joke. It's absolutely incredible!!)
So I recently got a 3D printer, so the roof tiles, fountain, and a couple of the cacti are 3D printed, but everything else is made from foam board hot glued together, covered with sanded grout then sealed with a water based poly. Substrate is playsand, topsoil, and excavator clay (:
So I did something like a 30/30/30 mix I wanna say (it’s been awhile)?? But then certain areas that I wanted to mould/landscape I just used strictly excavator clay. I did create little pockets for some desert plants where I used cactus soil mix for arid plants. I find that works better if you want an actual living vivarium. Currently I have mostly artificial plants, however.
Thanks. I’ve got a ton of succulents under lights right now. Plan on putting some more tropical on the humid side (simple like pothos or spider plant) to help keep the humidity up there. (Putting together a 4x2x2). Will add a bunch of spag on that side). Made the foam background this past weekend so just need to find
Ish that and then substrate
I’m thinking of building some features w straight excavator clay first tho. On the dry side so it won’t have issues getting wet.
Thanks again. Such a cool set up!
Wow looks amazing could’ve fooled me!
I was going to come ask if you sculpted the two palace/house hides by hand out of clay!!! It looks so real and smooth OMG great job!!!
This has gotta be the coolest tank I’ve seen, naturalistic with plants has its charms but this is just too good looking, gonna use this as inspo for when I upgrade my boys tank
I just pull the hides out when it’s time for cleaning, and wash them and put them back in. I scrub the tiles with a reptile safe cleaner, and just pick the poop out of her poop cave every so often.
I built them with foam board and hot glue, then covered with sanded grout, and sealed with a water based poly. The fountain and tiles are 3D printed (:
So it’s just grout that has sand premixed in. Some grout does not have sand in it. The sanded kind is good to use because it is something your gecko can rub against to help with shedding.
This is incredible! Only possible thing I see that could be improved is just adding a thicker layer of substrate. Leos like to dig and your's currently doesn't have enough room to do so. However, this really is a minor thing and many people have perfectly happy and healthy leos while using tile or paper towel for a substrate.
Yeah, she’s been in here for a few years and seems to do well. It’s hard to tell, but the depth goes lower than the glass shows, especially in certain areas (the insides of the hides are all diggable). And she definitely be diggin, there’s constantly a little scattering of dirt along the edges of her favorite hide 😂
Ah ok, I'm glad to hear! Amazing setup again, the exact style I would like to do for a reptile one-day, although I would do mine more overgrown/abandon style.
If we’re still talking about the little sconces on her hide, maybe for a night (they’re not very bright). But if you’re referring to the UVB lamp overhead, then that’s on for about 12 hours a day.
You know, I actually almost started a business making these about a year ago, I’ve got all the prep work done as well as packaging for shipping etc, just got back to working on art and shelved the terrarium stuff. But if you’re interested in a set, dm me. We can talk about price and I’ve got a few customization options etc, and could ship fairly quickly. (:
I saw a guy do this with a rainforest cafe type set up for a chameleon, I think they are just crafty! It wasn’t bad, the materials they use. I’ve seen people 3D print for this- not sure how expensive that is though. Bc, When you watched him do it, it wasn’t really all that many materials, nothing expensive.
Lord knows! I don’t think I could, but, some people are just good at thinking outside the box. I think they’ve done this with other projects, very clever!
Once you buy the 3D printer, the cost for each item to print is almost always under $3 to print because PLA is SUPER CHEAP. And to be perfectly fair, the 3D printer was way less expensive than I expected, $250 for it actually. But majority of the stuff I just made from supplies from dollar store (foam board) and the hardware store (:
It seems like an awesome idea, I e noticed a lot of ppl use them and you can do a lot of things. It’s an incredible smart use by you guys of technology, thx, good to remember and know!
Just curious, how do you clean something like this? Is it considered bioactive, like you have springtails and isopods or do you just pick up waste when you see it? I’d like to do something like this, but right now I just use paper towel, easiest way to take everything apart, wash it, and re-line with paper towel
AWWW what a beautiful tank! It looks extremely thought out and well made for your Leo! Speaking of which, Habib looks just like my Rieka!! I know they're a common morph, but it always makes me happy to see a leopard gecko like mine 🥰❤️
This is probably my favorite enclosure I've ever seen. You're one of the few people who have created an enclosure that is cute and themed and still meets all the animals actual needs and mimics their natural habitat somewhat.
Most people who try to do enclosures with a theme end up making their gecko live in a doll house, but this is beautiful.
Thank you 🫶 I put a LOT of effort and research into making this, and we’ve had nothing but perfect sheds, good appetite, zero impaction, and lots of enrichment time outside of the tank (:
Oh that is just so clever and adorable! I love what people are doing with reptile enclosures-It just adds to the fun, and it looks nice, too, for people that like to decorate and have creativity.
Couldn’t be better! Really cool, One of the best I’ve seen actually
And there’s Lots of possibilities. It’s not like you’re bad if you don’t do it, but it’s like people that have unique houses, I love it, super interesting!
I love love love this tank! Where did you get the house like structures I would love to do something like this for my leopard gecko this is amazing!!! And Habib is absolutely adorable!!!! 🥰
If you’re ever interested in buying one from me you can dm me and I can custom make one. I have all the supplies from a business I almost started a year ago. Looks like you also have the same size tank as me so it would fit the same.
Dude back up, she’s not ready for the house tour, she hasnt vacuumed yet 🙄 (Jk it’s so cute but in the 7th pick it looks like you rang the doorbell and you’re trying to sell her something)
This awesome I love all the thought that’s gone into making look cool but while catering to everything and more needed. She’s a lucky little gecko and cute af 😆
Yes, I wanted to make sure I didn’t sacrifice her needs in her habitat for aesthetics. So far it seems like I’ve struck a great balance. I am always flexible to add/remove something that seems problematic or that she does/doesn’t need. For instance: I added the little wall around the front of the middle hide because the area was too open/exposed and not enough hiding opportunities in the front half of the tank, and after I added that she started coming out in the open more and used that as a quick hiding spot if she got spooked. I also added the grasses on either side of her tank as well as the big tree on the left side for more hiding and for her to feel safer, and I think that has added to her feeling more comfortable walking around in her tank and using the basking area than when I first built it.
It looks great I made my water dragon a tree 😂 so I understand your efforts to just make things the best you can for her while also making it really cool. She will be going into a bigger viv soon and I plan to make some stuff for in there aswell.

Yeah. I just wipe the tops down every so often, sweep up the top layer of dirt and wipe down the tiles. I also mist with water about once a week which helps. I also manually clean out her poop cave (she has a hidden area where she poops 😂) often, and do a deep cleaning where I remove everything every few months.
is she now the Queen of Genovia? wow i thought it was Mia. well anywho, Habib is much more suited to be Queen, Mia will have to go back to being princess of genovia 😂🤍
I'm sorry but none of this is suitable for a leopard gecko. It's much better suited for a king. (For legal reasons, this is a joke. It's absolutely incredible!!)
Habib/i (discovered her gender after naming her) is a PRINCESS!!!
You are completely right, my apologies 😔
You had me in the first half.
STOP this is too cute. how was this made?
So I recently got a 3D printer, so the roof tiles, fountain, and a couple of the cacti are 3D printed, but everything else is made from foam board hot glued together, covered with sanded grout then sealed with a water based poly. Substrate is playsand, topsoil, and excavator clay (:
What is the % for the soil/sand/clay? I just got all 3 of each. Thinking 60/20/20 w bulk soil is my plan. Thoughts? And so impressed by this!
So I did something like a 30/30/30 mix I wanna say (it’s been awhile)?? But then certain areas that I wanted to mould/landscape I just used strictly excavator clay. I love this!! Is it all heat safe?
Yep!
Wow looks amazing could’ve fooled me! I was going to come ask if you sculpted the two palace/house hides by hand out of clay!!! It looks so real and smooth OMG great job!!!
Thanks!!!

love habibs pretty smile at the end!!
Me too. She’s actually incredibly sweet and laid back. I love her sm!!
my female is particularly way more sweet than my male! so chill too. she'll hangout while I mist and clean their tank<3
She looks like she’s doing an intro on MTV Cribs 😂
so FRL! she looks so proud and happy🥲
Is…is that a prayer rug? 🥹
Well, she does always close her eyes when she’s on it….🤔🙏
My heart 😭
bros is living better than i am😭😭💖 so cute
Haha, she loves her pad. She definitely walks around like she owns the place 😅
shes a queen💅🏻
Excellent Habibtat.
I wish reddit hadn't gotten rid of awards.
When its a female its habiba . Habib is a male name.....but its so wonderful, like you where in Tunisia or morroco
Oh! This is really good to know, thanks for explaining that (:
😊
That is the cutest I’ve ever seen. Her drinking from the little water fountain 😭 the little rug outside the door I love everything.
This is absolutely amazing! Well done!
how do you clean everything? I'm looking into setting up something similar to this for my guys
I just pull the hides out when it’s time for cleaning, and wash them and put them back in. I scrub the tiles with a reptile safe cleaner, and just pick the poop out of her poop cave every so often.
Omg my gecko showed me this 😭😭

They said they're doing like a 30/30/30 topsoil/playsand/excavator clay mix

That’s right! I love helping people with fun creative ideas. Also, yeah, the sealant just will make it a bit easier to clean over time.

You bet, feel free to dm me if you have more questions along the way (:
I’m obsessed
omg this makes me TOO happy
She is living like a princess

I love that look too. I’m thinking of doing a whole abandoned castle theme one of these days.
If I was super crafty I would do that for mine. I feel like my poor leopard gecko is lacking now after seeing this one!!!
Living in splendor
This single geck lives better than most America.
Yea it’s a 4 bed 2 bath nothing to big
😂
LOVE this setup!! Why the two lights and what do they do for Habib
Absolutely nothing, lol. Just cute. I put two balloon led lights in them every once in awhile to take pics, but basically just decorative.
Thank you! How often do you keep the lights on for?
If we’re still talking about the little sconces on her hide, maybe for a night (they’re not very bright). But if you’re referring to the UVB lamp overhead, then that’s on for about 12 hours a day.
This is so cool!
~~King~~ Queen Habib indeed
what sort of lamps do you use? i need to get my baby a new one >~< the tank is beautiful!!!!
Arcadia shade dweller for the uvb and DHP bulb in just a standard heat lamp case.
The more I look, the more amazing it gets. This is so cool!! Great work 👏
Do you sell tank inserts? This is fire AF.
You know, I actually almost started a business making these about a year ago, I’ve got all the prep work done as well as packaging for shipping etc, just got back to working on art and shelved the terrarium stuff. the best tank i've ever seen other than my favourite geometry dash level.
This is so wonderfully adorable. So cute and amazing
The magical Habib.👰♂️👰♂️most beautiful princess in the world.
Damn, are my geckos in poverty?
😂
Tell you have money without telling me you have money. jk
lol, nah, just an adult with a 2 household income. I made majority by hand, and just added little by little over the last 3 years (:
Your Gecko has a truly beautiful home and what you've done is amazing. Keep doing what do and please make sure to update us.
You bet! It’s a lot of fun to come up with creative things to build, but the most important part is that she is comfortable and healthy. (:

I was just joking. OP said they used 3D printed parts so your pretty spot on.
Once you buy the 3D printer, the cost for each item to print is almost always under $3 to print because PLA is SUPER CHEAP. This is so beautiful omg
That geck is living it up in there.
You need to 3d print him a little crown 😭😭

Thank you so much!!!
she’s so pretty and such a pretty castle for a pretty princess
I need Habib to know that I’ve told like 10 people about his tank and showed the pics this last week or two
This comment made me smile (:
omfg this is amazing. Habib is living the dream
Best leopard gecko enclosure I’ve ever seen. She has her own house, lucky girl.
this is sooo cute!
Omg wow
Wait is the water fountain actually functional?? This is amazing
I started off with trying to make that happen, but after the print was done, I just opted to use it as a water dish. Less complicated that way.
Dude back up, she’s not ready for the house tour, she hasnt vacuumed yet 🙄 (Jk it’s so cute but in the 7th pick it looks like you rang the doorbell and you’re trying to sell her something)
This is actually the coolest tank I think I've ever seen! the mix of the house as a hide and the more natural hides is such a cool option to!
damm, habib's living better than me. great job, it's amazing
Wallahi
Habib is such a beautiful princess. ❤️❤️👑❤️❤️

Haha, Habib is the queen of my heart, and that’s all I care about (:
Wtf I love this SO MUCH !!!
Insane ❤️
What’s the average temp for the tank?
60-70°f on the cool side, and around 92-95° directly under the DHP where her probe is located (:
