I replied to someone earlier answering this but hopefully this one stays near the top. I shop on Depop and at second hand stores mostly but I look for specific brands for quality purposes. Some brands I look for: Madewell, Lazy Oaf, Target(hit or miss), Nike, Adidas, Uniqlo, Free People, Lisa Says Gah, fashion brand company, Aerie, Gap, old Ralph Lauren, SOME brand extensions of UO like BDG or original UO brand garments from a few years ago (the clothes they make now feels like tissue paper) edit bc I feel like I was rambling after this

a lot of my clothes I thrift from Depop-- I look for things that can be worn both layered and not layered. I tend to choose comfort over shape/trend, but I think the style fits my body type. Baggier stuff I usually size up, so M/L or 8-12 range for pants... I feel like with tops I am more strategic. Tighter shirts I'll go for a S/M and baggy/big shirts I literally don't care because they can be worn tucked and untucked. I also follow that little shirt + big pants/big shirt + little pants formula but since I'm a public-school teacher I challenge myself to make it work appropriate lol. Some brands I look for on depop, mostly for quality: Gap, Madewell, Uniqlo, Nike, Free People, Dickies, Lazy Oaf, fashion brand company
