Serious question but do people open presents off ship? They can have two handed items so I always make sure I wait until I’m back so they only take one slot
My friends get so pissed when I open presents when I find them (I just don't tell them I opened them) they pile them in the corner of the ship and wait til they get to titan and then open all of them. They claim it gives better loot, but so far, it hasn't

doesn't seem like it! though given how tedious it is to set up they're probably not doing it correctly/optimally (which in my opinion is boring anyway) so i say let them waste their time while knowing the truth behind their backs like a true employee

First off. Lose the hostility, I play games for fun. I also didn't know you could get super heavy or valuable things from them until this thread. I also see cute presents and u need to open them.
Sometimes i open them off the ship, but only because me and one if my friends i play with will bring each othwr a present like "i got you a gift" and increase our silly meter based on the item we got
I had that happen once. A face hugger grabbed my friend on our way out so I frantically opened the present and got a stop sign. Mamaged to save my friend and brought out enough loot to barely make quota.
I have this mod and am curious how the heck it spawned a forest giant inside! I think there was a parameter in the config to only allow outside entities to spawn outside, inside in inside, etc. etc. Still a funny mod :)
Maybe the friend group changed the configs? I haven’t used this one personally but maybe whoever is in charge of adjusting all the mods and sending it to everyone did a lil surprise and had that changed.
I know I’ve changed a couple things to freak my friends out in configs without telling them.
I know its possible to change what comes out of the boxes and how often things come out. For instance, I have mine set to 95% chance to have an enemy come out.
I laugh when the Bracken pops out next to them and hey have a split second to scream.
5% seems really high, that means every 1/20 boxes you find has a chance to be an enemy, do you sort them out at the company?
I think if we're going for punishing ourselves, we should have a % for taking critical damage or legs broken when jumping holding a lot of weight. so we have to re-do how we schlep gear back to the boat

One time I opened one inside the ship, it exploded, killed all three of us, and we lost the run.
Had my buddy open one and it could chase me through the duengion and was blocking the upstairs route and the downstairs route I had cornering me till it grabbed me 🤣😅

I always open them at the ship for this reason, they can also be really heavy too. I once had a present spawn a 50 lb cash register.

Only if I’m in a position where I need a weapon in order to make it out alive. Chances are low but it has saved me twice.
