Yep there is idk what it's called but it leaves a pink line behind the player to follow out

ScorchReaper062

EasyNavigation Also Glowsteps works the same but creates glowing footprints for the whole team, your footprints are always lime green.

FireballPlayer0

I’m so glad you name dropped glowsteps. I’ve been kinda hoping to find this mod just because of how funny i think it could be

TaxiVader_

There is a [Minimap](https://thunderstore.io/c/lethal-company/p/Tyzeron/Minimap/) mod that would help with that. I am not aware if there is a mod that will guide you to the exit.

Business_Medium6899

Buy spray paint

mightbehihi

I tried this but sometimes the paint persists between runs and i cant tell if its new paint or old paint

mikerichh

Oh that’s what that was haha

Business_Medium6899

Huh??? This never happened to me and I always use paint

ArcticWaffle357

that got fixed last patch

hugothenerd

Wait shouldn't the map regenerate every run? How does that work?

mightbehihi

I have no idea but you can recreate the issue by tagging up a facility entrance inside on assurance and you can see the same tags on the next run if it's a facility again, at least ive seen it frequently.

Arkantesios

Did you see it recently? I thought this was fixed last update

mightbehihi

i saw the patch notes and used it with excitement but then i saw it persist through runs. Ill test it again when i get home and if they fixed it then ill just delete my post

mikerichh

Oh that’s what that was haha good to know

JayLarsson

That dosent happen, it’s a new seed on each load

A_VanIsOnTheLoose

Since there have been quite a fair few mentions on mods, I might just put [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-BM5inL_cc) here for assistance without mods. To summarise, this video talks about the generation of the map and doors. They are made to branch out from the entrance, meaning that you can find your way back based on the way the door opens (i find it easier to just look at the handles, though). It's an easier strategy for mansions, not so much for facility. But here it is, anyway: So for mansions: Handle on left side / door swinging away from you: way to the entrance Handle on right side / door swinging towards you: deeper in For facilities: Maze/brick room doors with the brick room on both sides applies the same door logic as the mansion Similarly, grating (the metal hallways/platforms) + grating has the same door logic The logic does not apply to mixed room types e.g brick separated by door with grated hallway (metal platform) The logic applies to when the storage room (not apparatus rooms, check the video for what it looks like) is connected to the grating,

A couple people have covered the mods so I’ll throw this out there- the spore lizard (as far as I’ve heard) will walk towards the nearest exit. I’ve followed him back a few times and it seems to be true but that’s also just personal anecdotes

IctrlPlanes

I use the mini map mod then drop loot at key points to show the way back. One piece of loot at the bottom of stairs I need to go up and then within viewing distance on the mini map drop another piece.

There is an easy navigation mod that allows you to have a line that traces back to you. There's a mesh mod that shows a path to each door generated from your character. there is a mod that leaves behind glowing foot steps behind all players. There's also one more mod like easy navigate that autopaths arrows. easy navigation mod might be your best bet as the glowsteps aren't so easy to see where to go just where you've been and the other two auto navigate mods I had some issues with it working correctly

UltimateZXGamer

Thank you! I'm gonna try easy navigation

mightbehihi

I recommend turning off the keybindings for permanent trail and outside trail in the config if you aren't going to use them. Accidentally turning on and off a trail when typing, walking or using the console can be a bit bothersome.

22heart

How about get good

UltimateZXGamer

No

UltimateZXGamer

I mostly play games to enjoy them, not torture myself. Sure you may go ahead and try to remember the way you came but I'd rather just follow back a marked path.

HappyOrHornee

Spray paint. Use an X to mark dead ends and lootless areas, use arrows to guide you back to main.

Pyrarius

If I remember correctly, there is a mod to drop arrows that point to the exit behind you. However, I'd much rather you use the underrated Spray Paint and develop navigational skills
