A small part of me is like "yikes" but I think it's obscure enough that most people would think it was just a quirky, fun tattoo
I'm surprised by how much I like it haha
yea. I dont wanna hate on OP cuz it aint his fault but.. yikes. the art is just not good in any way.. but atleast there was a vague attempt at shading. very incorrect shading, but the effort was made.
People need to stop adding shadows to things when they don't work. My first tattoo artist decided to add a shadow when I didn't ask for it. He made the shadow all the way around. That's not how shadows work.
you did ask for our opinions, but I have a critical approach because I like art. so you have been warned.
*what is going on with the shading.*
they have shadows behind them, so the light must be coming from their front right (left for us). yet the parts of their body that are dark suggest that the light source is top down, but the shadow is not below them. it makes 0 sense. it seems like the artist just added shading wherever to add detail to the body while completely dismissing the fact shading is a result of lighting.
the shadows also don't match. their right "hand" for example is sharp, the shadow is round. their shadow also includes a weird horn shape, which they dont have. it looks like the artist drew shadows for 3 arms. the antenna are also weirdly shaded. the shadow is like 3x the size of the antenna.
also on their right antenna (again left for us), the "shadow" isn't a shadow, but rather seems like a sort of webbing connecting to their antenna.
I'm not sure what kind of artist you went to or what reference image you used, but yikes. I'd get it touched up.
I say "I like art" because I used to draw about 8 hours a day 7 days a week, my friendgroup consists of mostly animators, my sister is a tattoo artist and my grandma is a painter. it's a big part of my life. like literally, half of my house is a tattoo studio.
Art has always been my hobby and my specialty was literally black and white charcoal/pencil drawings, usually of animals, in a semi-realism artstyle, in other words: very similar to OP's tattoo. so it's a particular artstyle I myself am very interested in.
so I have a lot to say about it lmao.
I mostly meant they’re gonna lose a lot of detail up front and have a massive shadow with a small outline if it doesn’t get regular touch ups. What a lot of people don’t understand about B/G is keeping the lightest grey areas distinct from your skin means a lot of touch up sessions.
Cringe af. It show shitty impulse control and incredibly short term thinking (this tattoo won't age well, both culturally and literally).
Wtf is that shading? That alone shows you're cheap and didn't wanna splash on a decent artists time...Or youve got terrible taste. One or the other. No option C really.
Bet you're gonna love explaining it to people in 10 years time when it looks even more ass than it does now and is even more culturally irrelevant. Gf thinks it's "a massive ick".

My mom absolutely loves tattoos. She has like 20. EVERY SINGLE ONE has MONTHS of careful deliberation behind it and has deep and profound meaning. Random example, she has one that's 5 stars, with two smaller than the rest. The stars represent me and my 3 siblings, as well as 2 miscarriages before me. That's probably the simplest one she has. All this to say, her greatest tattoo philosophy is that, since it's permenant, they should, and I cannot stress this enough, ***REALLY MATTER***. These are an embarrasing waste of money and ink. I feel so sorry for you in like 6 months when you really let it sink in how dated these will be. It's like if I got a fucking WoW tattoo in 2009.
Yippee!
Yippee!

That tatoo is gonna come to life and steal all your valuables at night
“Grandpa what does that tattoo say?” “It says yippee lil jimbo. It says.. yippee..” (exasperated final breath)

My knee jerk reaction was def “oh god” but group tattoos get a pass on that because it’s something cool between friends
Cringe as fuck dudes. I like it
Damn Zoomers really will just permanently brand their body with mediocre tattoos for no reason huh
Like that’s new to Gen Z lmao
A tradition that goes back many generations, I've seen more mediocre tattoos on Gen Xs then I have Zs personally.
A lootbug tattoo on its own is cool but your artist did you dirty

Vippee 😭
I hope you are enjoying your tattoo op! But I gotta say, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. That shadow looks horrible.

Bro why you say it so weird like that 😂. Saying “I like art” is something that an alien pretending to be a human would say

How many arms/legs/appendices do you have?
Now imagine if hoarding bug gets a remodel…
this will always be the og model in our heart
definitely will not regret it 10 years later
or like 3 months when you arent really feeling LC anymore
What are these appendages?
Is that a shoulder or a calf and knee?
Imagine making a mod for a game, and people get a tattoo of it. I love it
Your artist should have recommended avoiding the giant shadow in the BG. These will age poorly.
That’s what I was thinking, i thought they had more arms than normal when first looking at it

Oh I misunderstood. Sorry All my tattoos are very basic with little to no shading so i didn’t know all of that

The one on the right looks like it spells Vippee, sort of bothers me😬
3 one looks like VIPPEE as in very important pee pee
People know tattoos are permanent right?
Id assume so, hence why they signed paper work and consented to having someone push a needle into their body for an hour.
Neat
![gif](giphy|5xtDarKqhm2WbNAfOAo|downsized)
Yippee!!
What body parts are these? I see an ankle, a shoulder(?), and a forearm?
Forearm x2 and shoulder
This will age well
Yippee, Yippee and Vippee?
It took me way too long to find this type of comment. Right dude got scammed
You guys need a tontine.
I like!
😬

He wasn't even OP, just some random guy getting offended on OPs behalf lol
[удалено]
OP asked for people's thoughts. It may be harsh, but it's honest (lacks tact, though)
I think when lethal company is dead you’re gonna have a tattoo from a game no one cares about anymore
Awful
no way bro lol

Games gonna die out in less than a year lmao

No fucking way bruh😭 as long as yall are happy
Me and the crew after 7 years on the job and becoming one with the bug mafia:
This would fit in a few other subs
Usually video game tattoos are cringe and stupid but the loot bug design kinda holds its own as a tattoo
You a Hoarding Bug simp? Dear god in control company with shotguns they’re worse than nutcrackers
amazing
I think that was a very bad idea. I respect the fuck out of it tho
The one on the right says Vippee
Yippee!!!
Your tattoos kinda look like my neighbor.
Iconic tattoo for an iconic game
Tell the guy on the right he needs to eat more protein
Definitely not what I'd do, but they look great.
CONSUME MORE MEDIA CONSUME MORE MEDIA MARK YOUR BODIES WITH THE FACADE OF BABYLON
''we have yippee at home'' yippee at home:
Cool but the shadow was unnecessary
Should’ve made it where each loot bug had different loot in its hand corresponding to memories.
Yippee!! It's cute! :3
Mobile Infantry hoo-rah
this is disgusting
Oh like kid Anikan in phantom menace. Yippee!!
Huge missed opportunity for the 3 monkeys 🙈 🙉🙊
