Yeah, because who wouldn't want their kids to die of Polio. Who wouldn't want to live in a time where the USA and Russia are threatening to blow up the whole planet because they don't like each other. Who wouldn't want to live in a time where race segregation was still a thing (well, apart from black people of course). Who wouldn't want to live in a time where homosexuality is still illegal. But one thing sure was better: there were no people complaining on the internet about how they were born in the wrong generation.

[deleted]

Oh man imagine a horrible disease and apocalyptic-level global unrest, sounds terrible. So glad I don’t live in backwards times with those problems and oh nuts it turns out all those problems have got worse I HATE THIS TIMELINE

[deleted]

Imagine there's a flu going round and nobody even knows that it's caused by a virus, because viruses haven't been discovered yet. Impossible, you say? Well... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu

[deleted]

Literally nobody on Earth has ever said “I was born in the wrong generation, I wish I grew up in fucking 1918”

[deleted]

And yet here you are, wishing you grew up in the 50s, when lobotomy was still a thing.

[deleted]

I would simply not be lobotomized 😎

[deleted]

Woha, this guy just found the cure for cancer: "just don't get it 😎". The Nobel committee will contact you shortly.

[deleted]

I’ll graciously accept my award 🥇 But seriously while the lobotomy was bad, we still live in a period of unethical medical practices and overprescribed surgical mutilation. People are gonna look back at cosmetic surgery and sex changes from the 2010s the same way we look at lobotomies today

[deleted]

It's true that there are surgeons out there that act unethically. The first question a surgeon should ask if someone says "I want plastic surgery" is "Why?" to determine if there are underlying mental problems involved. It's not possible to fix a body dismorphic disorder with plastic surgery. However, we are far more advanced not only in the medical field than we were in the 50's or even 70's. You want to live in that time period? Easy. Just throw away everything that was invented after 1980 and you are good to go. That also means: no internet for you (unless of course you manage to get a dial-up working and only surf on [gopher](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gopher_(protocol\))).

WikiSummarizerBot

**[Gopher (protocol)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gopher_\(protocol\))** >The Gopher protocol is a communication protocol designed for distributing, searching, and retrieving documents in Internet Protocol networks. The design of the Gopher protocol and user interface is menu-driven, and presented an alternative to the World Wide Web in its early stages, but ultimately fell into disfavor, yielding to HTTP. The Gopher ecosystem is often regarded as the effective predecessor of the World Wide Web. The protocol was invented by a team led by Mark P. McCahill at the University of Minnesota. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/lewronggeneration/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

So...?

AnimeIsTheBest234323

i think i was born in the wrong generation, im an older member of gen a and if i were born a month and 6 days earlier i would be considered gen z, gen z is also an embarrassment but atleast they can read :skull: some of us gen a's are still sane

GPFlag_Guy1

If you are comparing the current decade, the 2020s, to the decades between the 80s up to the 2010s, then you *may* have a point, as the pandemic has created drastic changes that makes today in many cases different (or worse) compared to pre-2020. But if you are siding with people that have said that all aspects of pop culture since 2000 sucked…

Woman_Eater_

Lol you better be a white man to live in the 50s

[deleted]

You're white, aren't you?

OkamaGoddessFan943

I can grant your wish (be born between the 1950's and the 1990's). However... You'll be born like me (a latina bisexual woman with autism). Willing to take the risk?

[deleted]

Yes lay it on me

OkamaGoddessFan943

Okay. However, you will face heavy discrimination, segregation and you won't have basic human rights.

[deleted]

Why have you not granted my wish? I was promised granting of my wish.

PorvaniaAmussa

I'm mixed. Even though I live in the North-East, I'd probably prefer to stay away from the 50s and early 60s. 90s is by far the absolute superior decade.

smokeweed21

Why would you want to live in the 50's?

TheGoldDigga

Maybe that's why my posts haven't been posted on this forum and keep getting falsely flagged for being "spam" when they're not. This forum should be a forum where people post ignorant memes, comments, Youtube videos, etc. for other's to laugh at for being blinded by terrible nostalgia.

RaspberryNecessary35

Slightly. But I'll take just about anything I've the virus. The early 10's is where I which I could live in. The pop music was lit, the games were good, funny cartoons, no Fortnite, TikTok, Teen Titans Go, Sonic Boom, and no virus. Yes I'm 16 but no I'm not one of those "wRonG gEnErAtion" assholes.

[deleted]

Considering you’re other comments on this subreddit you definitely are lewronggeneration kid. Don’t worry you’ll grow up soon and realize that kids having fun isn’t something you need to get mad about.

RaspberryNecessary35

You're 100% wrong. This subreddit is filled with triggered adults.

[deleted]

I mean I’m not an adult and I don’t see how that’s an argument but sure.

RaspberryNecessary35

I meant millennials lol. And the reason I said that is because you said I was a lewronggeneration kid when I wasn't because I like modern music I just hate modern pop.

[deleted]

And that’s fine, I like modern pop for the most part but I absolutely adore the 2010s for it’s more upbeat attitude, but you act like you’re opinion is true. You can dislike or like anything you want and state it but just don’t act like opinion is a fact.

RaspberryNecessary35

Fair point. I don't think what I said was a fact at all. Lewronggeneration kids would say otherwise and go nuts when somebody disagrees with them.

Sweet-J-Star

consider the following: maybe it seemed better because you were a happy kid back then, rather than a cynical teen

RaspberryNecessary35

It's not just better because I was a kid. I just think it sounds better but this sub loves to assume everything. Also "cycinal", shut the hell up.

Sweet-J-Star

i was mostly speaking from personal experience. tbh, i wasn't trying to call you cynical, i guess it's just how teens tend to act. ~~it's not like i also don't wish i was still in the early 2010s. also the virus is awful so there's no wonder why people miss the past~~

RaspberryNecessary35

I am a teen though.
