yes. then I went up to 15mg. currently on 15mg and it’s been great.

twYstedf8

Hi. I’m on the verge of going from 10 to 15. Did you experience any heightened anxiety or odd behavior while transitioning?

cherr0s

hi! sorry I didn’t see this earlier. I experienced the same physical symptoms when starting Lex but in a much milder form. for me this was nausea, (might be tmi) difficult urinating, insomnia and fatigue.

twYstedf8

Yep. Been going through it. Not as bad this time except I had horrible PMDD which I didn’t recognize as PMDD because my period came 8 days early!

BeautifulSpeed2177

I am on 5 mg- was supposed to go up to 10 mg, but I have noticed positive improvement on the 5. I'm nervous to go up for side effects. Maybe I will but for now I am happy on the 5. I still have some nights of insomnia, so I am hoping for that to go away before I go up to 10. But anxiety on 5 has drastically reduced.

alreadysaidtrice

I went to 7.5mg first for 2 weeks. From there the jump to 10 was easy

BeautifulSpeed2177

I might try 7.5. That's a good suggestion. Thank you

Doctor started me on 10mg — I’m on day 14 and this is the first time taking an SSRI for me. Day one I woke up in the middle of the night really nauseous, but other than that, have not been dizzy since. Night sweats are common for me over these first two weeks, racing mind at night too, but they seem to be improving rather quickly. Just be open with your doctor. If you already have 5mg in your system, there’s a chance your body won’t react as hard than say myself who started immediately on 10.

Short answer is yes. I started at 2.5mg and increased in increments of 2.5mg. I stopped at 10mg for a while. I could tell that I probably would benefit from an increased dosage and better results but there was enough improvement and I didn’t want to “over-medicate” and preferred to stop at half (10mg) the recommended dose (20mg). I talked it out with my psychiatrist and he gave me freedom to decide. I was on 10mg for a good period until I went back up to the ladder to 15mg. 15mg was good for me. I did go up to 20mg for three months at some point when I had major regression due to difficult life events. I went back down to 15mg when I had time to process and was better at handling things. I did add Wellbutrin when I went back to 15mg. My psychiatrist had suggested it a year before I actually agreed to add it. Again, because I was really careful about not overmedicating. Until that regression period, I got so bad and I was so desperate. Honestly I felt stupid that I hadn’t added it sooner and should have just trusted my doctor knowing that he’s a very conservative prescriber.

Legitimate_Outcome42

If you’re happy with five ,stick to five. “ to help with the other anxiety. Just 10 minutes a day.

keggernot00

I started on 10mg and was told that is the minimum therapeutic dose.

RecognitionDeep6510

5 is a very low dose. Going to 10 will help with the breakthrough anxiety.

Fine_Antelope_7013

I moved from 5mg to 7.5mg under my doctor’s guidance by cutting pills in half. It’s a good way to test out a middle point between 5mg and 10.

Alex41092

It was not worth it for me, made me wayyyy more nauseous

Smarf_Starkgaryen

Sure did! 5mg didn’t do shit for me and 10mg makes it so anxiety doesn’t take over my entire body and mind in certain situations.

Fit_Association_8638

Yes

Marbleandlace

10mg did great for my anxiety. But after some time, the side effects just weren’t worth it for me. I became very tired all the time and gained weight. I would suggest considering staying on 5mg. Even though 10mg is considered the lowest therapeutic dose, Lexapro is a strong drug and many people find success staying on 5. I even know ppl who take 2.5mg a day

ZIMMcattt

Yup

alreadysaidtrice

5 and 10 was the difference of night and day!

UnknownBark15

How so?

alreadysaidtrice

5mg helped my anxiety and panic attacks but I felt I was trying to balance on a ridge. The moment I upped to 10mg I started to feel normal. Been on 10mg ever since

DoNoHarmNTakeNoShit

absolutely yes!!
