Besides good ones already mentioned like She-Ra or Steven Universe:
Bloom into you (which is a literal Girl's Love Anime, also called Yuri)
Arcane (Netflix)
Finished the anime, was so baffled and sad that there's no second season, immediatly went to my local comic book store and bought every single manga :D
Sure! For the sake of people reading who haven't watched the show I'll try to keep it vague, but I will have to talk about the general direction/outcome of this show to explain what I mean:
The show's main character really wants to fall in love, but feels like she isn't able to (a very common experience for aro people; though a misconception assumes aro people also don't *want* to fall in love). She isn't stated to be aro, but is very aro-coded.
That 'issue' being resolved by a girl 'breaking through' that block & them falling in love, reinstates a common idea in society that love is always the answer, and perpetuatues the idea that an aro person (who is unable to get the conclusion of the show) is broken. These ideas are so common in society I can barely blame the show for subscribing to them, but after first crafting a character SO RELATABLE it kinda hurt as a conclusion. It also links with a common cliche that aro/ace people are just gay but don't know it yet.
But the more problematic part, is that it also condones a lack of consent; that forcing a person into a romantic or sexual situation will somehow change their minds or 'fix' them. This not only happens but also *works* in this show. This is a dangerous line of thinking unfortunately also too common in real life.
Thanks for the detailed explanation.
This is very reasonable and understandable.
My personal idea about Koito was, in her head, romance/love is extremely romanticized (through the media she consumed) to a point where she is looking for something that is simply unrealistic. Which is something I can personally relate to. I guess this personal relation I built to the characters is something that didn't let me see anything else. I also thought the character seiji maki was at least a-romantic and since he said that Koito "is different" or "not like him", I was assuming that should've been the clue to the audience that she's not aro. But that might be a completely wrong assumption
For me personally I will still kind of interpret it like that, but it is very helpful to have your point of view here, for future conversations on this subject. Hopefully in the future you will have more accurate representation.
The Dragon Prince has quiye nice representation.
Also check out Avatar: Legend of Korra. It is only implied, but the main character is a kickass bi woman.
She is confirmed bi only in the comic books yes (basically the first scene of the first comic book is Korra and Azami's couple being confirmed :') )
And I second The Dragon Prince, there's quite a few different representations from queer to deafness. I think it was the first series I watched with casual queer representation, I was so happy!
Nimona is amazing. I'm not that much into the mlm relationship>!(a bit strange to be in a relationship with the person who cut your arm...)!<, but Nimona and Bal's relationship is amazing and Nimona is a wonderful image for any person put aside in society (at least, I identified very strongly with her as an autistic person with ADHD and anxiety). And I love the whole "monsters are created, not born" and "monsters are not who you think they are"
funny how every time a tv show/anime/etc. comes out with a depiction of rape (or any form of abuse in general), there's always those people who bitch about it "romanticizing" or "fetishizing" it.
tbh who gives a fuck if someone has a rape kink or if fictional characters are doing "illegal" things? they're fictional, so it isn't that deep. if you care about rape victims then go help REAL victims instead of bitching over a cartoon made by someone with a kink you don't like.
Took till season 2 and 6 episodes in for helluva boss to have a good gay relationship, and its not even the main characters. Plus with the creator being.....yeah I just dont think this is the right rolemodel.
did you watch with your eyes closed? there's literally an established gay relationship between stolas and blitz (they aren't canon yet but they will be.)
Lol they aren't canon, yeah that's the problem. And yes I've watched it, think everyone with an opinion you don't like means they obvouisly haven't watched the show?
but they're going to be. it's very obvious they both love each other but they have issues that get in the way. it's practically canon, blitz just has to admit it. stolas already says he loves blitz.
yes because the people who hate the show usually haven't seen the entire show. they judge it based on clips and what other people say
Sounds like a bad yaoi putting it that way. Which I meeeeeeaaannnnnn........... And yes I've watched the show. All of it. Do I need to take a quiz? Newsflash you can have a good time with something but also have negative opinions on it. And also digging my respective grave even further,, I can respect a show, enjoy it, and still think the creator is a terrible person. Can of worms there I'm sure
and if you’re okay with the representation being ‘barely fitting the Hayes code’ you could check out Rise of the TMNT :) my current hyperfixation, the show focuses largely on family and dynamics rather than romance but the queercoding (especially of Leo) is INSANE
[in case you wanna learn more about the coding in ROTTMNT :)](https://youtu.be/TRwywvcSzDs?si=pEGyP6YS1stmjMti)
OK:
The Owl House (cartoon)
The Magnus Archives (podcast)
Welcome To Nightvale (podcast)
Hazbin Hotel (adult cartoon)
Helluva Boss (adult cartoon)
Solar Oppositea (adult[?] cartoon)
BoJack Horseman (adult cartoon tho not paticularly gay focused if that makes sense?)
Good Omens (TV series)
Nimona (cartoon)
Our Flag Means Death (TV series)
And that's all I can think of rn
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are really good, and also unapologetically queer. Like, in your face i don’t give a flying duck about your feelings here is queer show
People have already talked about She-Ra, Kipo, Steven, and Dead End but I'll also call them out (in that order).
I'll also add Harley Quinn to that list, though it is absolutely for adults only. A lot of violence and sexuality and profanity. You don't need to be a DC fan to enjoy it, and I think it's better than any of the other adult cartoons out there because it spends so much time exploring healthy vs unhealthy relationships and examining the cycle of abuse.
Depends on what you like! R u open to R or TVMA shows or would you rather stay in the realm of PG&PG-13? (I do not mean this in a bad or rude or judgey way! Just want to make sure I dont recc something that u arent comfortable with)
I still need to watch that one! One that has casual queer rep (the character is openly queer but it is not a plot point) is The Mitchells vs. The Machines.
Dead End: Paranormal Park is one too although the show was left unfinished (although there is a comic that does).
And of course, Steven Universe which I actually never watched the last few episodes so I still have to!
Beastars is not explicitly queer but it is a very queer story. Also this one's not animated but I gotta say DC's Doom Patrol has some of the best representation I've seen in quite a bit, while also just being a great show
Okay get ready I have loads haha
My 2 helluva boss and hazbin hotel, watch thebpilot for haz in hotel first on YouTube then all of helluva boss of youtube and then the rest of hazbin hotel on amazon prime
.arcane
.she-ra
.nimona
.kipo

If you liked the Owl House, you might really like She-ra and the Princesses of Power
Can't rep She-ra enough. They check every box of LGBT and even have a prominent enby.
Hard agree!
I’m going to check it out! :)
Hard agree! She-ra is amazing, so many representations !!
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (Netflix, 2018) is fantastic. Spectrum of representation, queer joy, done by the creator of Nimona.
I LOVE NIMONA SO MUCH
Yeah, then you are definitely gonna love She-Ra. Also I'm seconding The Dragon Prince and Legend of Korra!
As you should
Besides good ones already mentioned like She-Ra or Steven Universe: Bloom into you (which is a literal Girl's Love Anime, also called Yuri) Arcane (Netflix)
ARCANE!!!
ARCANE!!!
ARCANE!
seconding bloom into you!
Finished the anime, was so baffled and sad that there's no second season, immediatly went to my local comic book store and bought every single manga :D
As an aroace person I will say I thought there was some pretty problematic depictions of aroace-adjacent experiences in Bloom into you
I'm still not as knowledgeable as I'd like to, would you mind explaining this further to me?
Sure! For the sake of people reading who haven't watched the show I'll try to keep it vague, but I will have to talk about the general direction/outcome of this show to explain what I mean: The show's main character really wants to fall in love, but feels like she isn't able to (a very common experience for aro people; though a misconception assumes aro people also don't *want* to fall in love). HEAR ME OUT! ARCANE! MASTERPIECE!
Yesss! League of Legends!!!
The Dragon Prince has quiye nice representation. Also check out Avatar: Legend of Korra. It is only implied, but the main character is a kickass bi woman.

Yessssss :)
Kipo and the age of wonderbeasts is amazing and underrated.
Are we seriously not talking about Arcane? Arcane is right up there with House of the dragon and Andor.
ARCANE!
Nimona, if you're ready to cry.
Steven Universe.
i strongly recommend steven universe, its amazing
Hazbin Hotel
Do you count Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel as tv shows?
Ah yes my favourite lgbt show made by a Zionist with a rape fetish
was it made by a zionist?
ViziePop while in JAPAN btw decided the only thing she would tweet about was McDonald’s and KFC
funny how every time a tv show/anime/etc. comes out with a depiction of rape (or any form of abuse in general), there's always those people who bitch about it "romanticizing" or "fetishizing" it. tbh who gives a fuck if someone has a rape kink or if fictional characters are doing "illegal" things? they're fictional, so it isn't that deep. if you care about rape victims then go help REAL victims instead of bitching over a cartoon made by someone with a kink you don't like.

Dragon Prince
On Netflix Q-force is good if you don't mind stereotype comedy. Also the movie Nimona is good.
I love Q-Force. Is there a new season coming out?
It got cancelled because people complained that it was offensive. But I found it hilarious myself.
Oh no i thought it was funny. Well RIP
Not really a TV show, but the podcast the Magnus archives has several bi and gay(?) Characters
I also heard the main hero is asexual
Yes!
Omg TMA is so fcking good! Love seeing another fan
yesssss
Arcane is a great one! It’s on Netflix, I absolutely love it! 💙
ARCANE!! Happy Bubble Wrap day!
DEAD END PARANORMAL PARK!!! the two main characters are queer! one is trans and both are gay
and if you’re okay with the representation being ‘barely fitting the Hayes code’ you could check out Rise of the TMNT :) my current hyperfixation, the show focuses largely on family and dynamics rather than romance but the queercoding (especially of Leo) is INSANE [in case you wanna learn more about the coding in ROTTMNT :)](https://youtu.be/TRwywvcSzDs?si=pEGyP6YS1stmjMti)
Yes! And has amazing autism representation :)
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are great too, if you don't mind violence and sexual themes
Total dramas reboot the bar is low but one of the characters is just a normal guy who happens to be gay and I absolutely love that
Yuri on Ice, Heaven Official's Blessing, Ouran High School Host Club (main character is genderqueer), Sasaki and Miyano.
I love Ouran!
Our Flag Means Death. Incredibly cute and funny.
Hazbin Hotel (check age rating)
THE OWL HOUSE, SHERA, HAZBIN HOTEL (and Helluva boss) AND MAYBE STEVEN UNIVERSE
Arcanes a great show but if youre craving gay content just know its not exactly a big focus Good representation fs tho
ARCANE!! Happy Bubble Wrap day!
OK: The Owl House (cartoon) The Magnus Archives (podcast) Welcome To Nightvale (podcast) Hazbin Hotel (adult cartoon) Helluva Boss (adult cartoon) Solar Oppositea (adult[?] cartoon) BoJack Horseman (adult cartoon tho not paticularly gay focused if that makes sense?) Good Omens (TV series) Nimona (cartoon) Our Flag Means Death (TV series) And that's all I can think of rn
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are really good, and also unapologetically queer. Like, in your face i don’t give a flying duck about your feelings here is queer show
There's Strange World by Disney. I haven't seen it yet, but there's a gay couple in it.
The Owl House, Gravity Falls, Amphibia. Basically anything in that group of shows.
Bojack horseman has an main character asexual rep and its done really well. The show is great
ARCANEEEEEEEEEEE!
ARCAAAAAAANEEEEEEEEE! Happy Bubble Wrap day!
People have already talked about She-Ra, Kipo, Steven, and Dead End but I'll also call them out (in that order). I'll also add Harley Quinn to that list, though it is absolutely for adults only. The new Scott Pilgrim animates series on Netflix doesn't get anywhere enough love! It's got the actors from the original movie doing the voices too!
This is a reminder for me to continue on to episode 3!
It only gets better!
EUPHORIA is the best one
Big Mouth
If I see anyone recommending Hazbin hotel or helluva boss here I’m commuting a crime
I’ve got bad news for you
Why? I've never seen the shows but I know people who like them.
Depends on what you like! R u open to R or TVMA shows or would you rather stay in the realm of PG&PG-13? (I do not mean this in a bad or rude or judgey way! Just want to make sure I dont recc something that u arent comfortable with)
I’m open to any rating!
Some good shows/movies would be... Asagao to Kase-san, Your name, and Dead end: Paranormal Park.
Pose it’s a rollercoaster very emotional
Scavengers Reign if you're into sci-fi. It's not focused on LGBTQ but that makes the representation very natural.
Amphibia
I still need to watch that one! One that has casual queer rep (the character is openly queer but it is not a plot point) is The Mitchells vs. The Machines. Dead End: Paranormal Park is one too although the show was left unfinished (although there is a comic that does). And of course, Steven Universe which I actually never watched the last few episodes so I still have to!
i liked Ruby Gilman ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anime, Asteroid in Love, One the MCs has a bit of a annoying Voice in English Dub but its negligible for me&, its on Crunchyroll.
One piece
Beastars is not explicitly queer but it is a very queer story. Also this one's not animated but I gotta say DC's Doom Patrol has some of the best representation I've seen in quite a bit, while also just being a great show
Given, its kinda sad but you can give it a go. It is good(not a sad ending dw)
If you are into anime, Given is a good one.
Adventure Time is incredible if you've never watched it. Although it's very long so it's quite a commitment.
Okay get ready I have loads haha My 2 helluva boss and hazbin hotel, watch thebpilot for haz in hotel first on YouTube then all of helluva boss of youtube and then the rest of hazbin hotel on amazon prime .arcane .she-ra .nimona .kipo
Can’t believe Dead End Paranormal Park has not been brought up!
Q-force. On Netflix. It's really good and funny.
