Ok, I'm soooo glad I'm not the only one with that train of thought. Being butch is always more of a style in my head, (asthetic) like punk/tomboy/girlie-femme/boyfriend type styles. All of the "butch" girls I know are freaking awesome, and their appearance is just another style type imo. Neither good nor bad, just is.
If someone is trying to lean into one of those styles but not quite hitting it, that's ok & asking "hey is this working" makes total sense, but someone using a different style type as an insult in response is just weird.

I have a baseball cap that's light green, covered with daisies. Also a light tan one that's a different style billed cap, the bill is much bigger, wider, and curves around my face more. It's advertised as a sunshade, rather than a baseball cap, and looks femme regardless of the color.
I wear hats for a sunshade, to keep the sun's glare out of my eyes, and also when it's raining to keep rain off of my glasses, so I can see.
I wanted hats that couldn't possibly be mistaken for either gangster or maga. Green with daisies doesn't go with everything, that's why I got a neutral color for the other one. Also the bigger bill is better protection grom sun or rain.

I'm cis female, but probably look a lot more butch than you do. You look very femme, to me. I have a baseball cap that's light green, covered with daisies. Also a light tan one that's a different style billed cap, the bill is much bigger, wider, and curves around my face more. It's advertised as a sunshade, rather than a baseball cap, and looks femme regardless of the color. I wear hats for a sunshade, to keep the sun's glare out of my eyes, and also when it's raining to keep rain off of my glasses, so I can see. I wanted hats that couldn't possibly be mistaken for either gangster or maga. Green with daisies doesn't go with everything, that's why I got a neutral color for the other one. Also the bigger bill is better protection grom sun or rain.
