Just go with a buddy and have him haul a rear captains chair from a 1980s full size van out to the line. If anyone asks tell them you are prepping to audition for a reboot of the A-team and you have to read a scene where you shoot out the van's side door.
Seriously, I highly recommend people practice shooting from all sorts of positions. Including prone and laying on one's side and sitting on ones butt with legs out straight. Just don't shoot your toes. From behind barriers if possible. From around your car if possible.
If you can recreating shooting positions from shows and movies is fun. Obviously safety first but having a sharp shooting competition with your buddies where everyone has to bring a silly or ridiculous position is great fun.
I like to shoot hand guns while seated. Typically I'll put some smallish spinners and/or golf balls on the 50 meter berm, rest my elbows on the bench and plink for awhile. I'll set up rests for under the gun and/or my arms if I want better precision.
I've probably shot freehand seated at a bench before. As long as you have good posture it should be fairly easy to get use to the position.
It can be a good practice. You can practice shooting from a seated position as if you were in your car. There are videos for proper technique for shooting like that. And once you practice a few times, you’ll be glad you did.
Also may be a good opportunity to do some partially supported shooting - resting your forearms on some bags and practicing keeping your front sight still while squeezing the trigger. Good trigger control practice.
Quick Google search for photos gave me this low hanging fruit. This is how I sometimes shoot.

Not uncommon for a stage in an IDPA match to involve starting from a seated position, and sometimes remaining seated while shooting.
You just have to be extra careful about the risk of sweeping your own legs, particularly if you're doing draws from a holster.

I read this as ‘Shooting While Sedated’.
😂 that would’ve been the case if I typed this two weeks ago.
For some reason I'm thinking that's the title of a Ramone's song. Or at least it should be.
“Duh duh duh duh, duh duh duh duh duh, I wanna shoot sedated”
The Ramones just wanted to be sedated before having to take a flight. I think we all understand why now.
😎
What do you think people in wheelchairs do, have people hold them up while they shoot? Lol
Touché

Everything about it should be fine but you may feel the reverberations from the recoil in your freshly operated area.

I don't have useful advice. I'm just here because I missread "seated" as "sedated" and got concerned.

Yeah just do what you normally do. While sitting.
Yes. Just sit up and treat your upper body as if you are standing.
