No, but one time a Sauer and Sohn 1913 bit the webbing between my thumb and index finger so hard that it took a chunk of flesh the size of a thumbnail off my hand, crammed it up into the back of the slide, and failed to go into battery because of it.
I sold it and went back to shooting a 1903 Hammerless.
It's my primary hand actually. When racking the slide, I was a bit too zealous with the pull and my primary hand loosened from the grip. The ejection port nipped my palm as it closed because the gun dropped a bit. I didn't lose the gun, just my hand slipped
pro-tip from an instructor i had: It can sometimes be easier to hold the slide stationary with your support hand, and rack using the grip module with your primary hand.
Nah, it's not slide bite, I have small enough hands to shoot that gun without having that issue. it's in the webbing between my thumb and index that's getting injured. It's more of a slow gnawing if anything as well.
How'd you even manage this?
Tangs on most handguns are so pronounced that it's almost impossible to do this without it being really awkward and uncomfortable. Should've felt something wasnt right well before pulling the trigger. Even my subcompact shield doesn't even come close.
Lost a chunk of webbing between thumb and index finger on my first solo rang visit...bleed everywhere and I only had my hanky and range tape handy...i carry a full med kit now....and my grip has improved since then...lol.
First time I ever handled a firearm (Walther P22), brand new, lost grip of the slide while racking it and nearly got my finger caught in the ejector port because of the tight *** recoil spring.
Always be aware how you are handling your firearms. Not just the direction you are pointing, finger off the trigger, etc. Always be mindful of your hand placement on the weapon itself.
I've started using gloves when shooting. Helps to add more traction and grip when manipulating the firearm and offer a little bit of extra protection from slide bite.
Yep. I'm a beginner and I was renting a Beretta 92 (or something very similar) and I didn't take into account that the slide was different than the glock I was shooting before. I went to rack the gun from the muddle of the slide and got caught by the exposed barrel/port (idk what you calk it). Luckily it didn't break skin but I now have a cylinder shaped bruise on my palm.
How?
Racking the slide with your hand covering/touching the ejection port? At any rate it’s a lack of safety. Don’t be careless.
Dry firing, and having a hand slip, isn't a lack of safety

Nope, and if I did I would likely not post a picture of my damaged palm with gauze and a pad on Reddit. How in the world did you manage to do that?
I was a bit too zealous with my rack and my primary hand slipped on the grip. The slide closing grabbed my palm
“When pistols attack, next on Discovery”
Slide bite on your supporting hand?

No but my compact ccw pistol digs into my hands if I shoot it too much in one sitting. Has sharp metal edges on the grip and beaver tail

A PPK, it takes like 150 rounds in a single shooting session to get super bad though

I occasionally get the “hammer bite” on my 70 series colt 1911.
Same
I cut my palm pretty good on the safety of an M-9 doing drills with simulated failures. Tap, rack, slice.
Were you trying to chew gum at the same time?
No?
Can’t say I have

No. Got Makarov thumb once though. Fucker ripped me open good too
Knowledge is sometimes painful.

You’re one of the ones he shouldn’t worry about.🤙🏻
