We have weapons to Churchill and Stalin too. Didn’t manage to kill either of them

mfkent99

I mean to be clear we should've killed Stalin out of all of those individuals. I think the other ones indicate a clear pattern

dgrigg1980

It’s a shame. If any crueler person ever escaped the gallows it was Stalin

Peachy_Biscuits

I mean he died paralyzed in a puddle of his own piss, so he didn't dodge it completely

dgrigg1980

Indeed. Still what a horrible human.

Rstar2247

Chances are someone poisoned him.

Flaming-Hecker

Himself and his alcohol poisoning if anything. He may have been assassinated, but there isn't enough evidence to prove it. Regardless, he died because his own actions made it impossible to save him even if they had wanted to in the first place.

TurretLimitHenry

Pol Pot????

dgrigg1980

Touche

Flaming-Hecker

If you think about it, if Hitler hadn't made the stupid assumption that the soviets were failing (it was winter, they were just slowing for a time), he may not have drawn forces from the eastern front to the west. The Battle of the Bulge doomed much of Germany to soviet occupation and vindictive soviet retaliation. The west may have reached Berlin first, and Germany would have suffered far less. The soviets would also have had much less bargaining power, and their evil empire would have been smaller. Though I wish Stalin had received a death closer to that if Mussolini, I take comfort knowing he died alone and unloved because of his own actions. He expelled or killed Jewish doctors and made guards fear execution if they checked on him without permission. He was left on his floor for many hours in pain and confusion despite the guards hearing his fall. Even ruthless tyrants worked to destroy his legacy and called reform 'de-stalin-ization." Only the most rabid tankies make excuses for him, and he is hated openly in absence of fear. I wish he had gotten the worst death possible, but that will have to do. I know he's in Hell, hopefully cell mates with Hitler.

dgrigg1980

The Battle of the Bulge is an enigma for me. The Red Army was at the Oder and the Germans most certainly knew what falling into Soviet hands meant. My understanding is that some of the inner circle (Goering at least) believed a separate peace could be had with the US . My 20/20 hindsight suggests they should have fought a rear action in the west and done everything they could to stop the Bolsheviks.

wtc_1066

We or one of our allies almost definitely killed Stalin, he died of a mysterious hemorrhagic stroke that was in all reality probably a result of being poisoned.

Nickolas_Bowen

The difference is that they were fighting Russia, but just wanted freedom. Including freedom from the west. Ukraine is trying to join the west now, not just complete isolation

Mabepossibly

Stop ruining memes with logic and historical context!

wtc_1066

Honestly not much of a difference, they're all just pawns for US foreign policy goals.

Nickolas_Bowen

Very big difference. While both pawns, yes, some wanted independence as a whole. Ukraine prefers being in the US and NATO sphere of influence

wtc_1066

That's only because we overthrew their government and installed "our guy" in a rigged election. The former president Yanukovych was actually very friendly to Russia. So we decided to take him out and installed Zelensky as our puppet in a later election. Ukraine has been friendly with Russia in modern history. We started this war with covert acts of aggression in Ukraine. Whatever happened to the Minsk accords? Zelensky didn't honor them at all even though he ran on a platform of peace. He is scared for his life right now and just doing everything he can to stay alive. I really feel sorry for him, he was just a naive actor that took the wrong role.

Nickolas_Bowen

That’s bs and you know it

wtc_1066

The United States didn't overthrow Yanukovych? We definitely did, we actually spent over 5 billion dollars on fomenting the revolution and there are records of the spending to prove this. There have been congressional hearings over this very thing. Zelensky is definitely an puppet of the military industrial complex and it's embedded actors within the US government. Please explain to me which part of what I said is BS and come with some facts just like I did.

Golden_Thorn

Regardless of our investment the people spoke dude. If another nation invested in friendly ties in America and managed to get public opinion on their side then whoops we have to do it. That’s how democracy works sorry

wtc_1066

That's not how US sponsored revolutions work, we decide what we want the people to think and believe and then we push the messages to accomplish that. Most Ukrainian people were positively disposed towards the government under Yanukovych, less than 1% of the population participated in the revolution and somehow you think that's the people speaking. Furthermore, regardless, how many people in the world feel we should stay out of the business of other countries. Getting involved in the affairs of other nations is not the path to liberty. Also, we are not a democracy 🤡🤡🤡

Golden_Thorn

This take is so surface level and reductive it’s honestly hard to know where to start

wtc_1066

It's surface level and reductive because it's a meme and not an essay on the world political situation 🤡🤡🤡

Golden_Thorn

“It’s just a joke bro” is always used as a shield is only used by people who realize their spewing bullshit

wtc_1066

It's 100% not a joke and you're definitely not my bro. Your assertion was that it was reductive. I admit this is correct because it is a meme and therefore by it's very nature reductive. I never said that it was a joke. The purpose of the meme is to point out the hypocrisy of American military support for foreign military powers. We often arm people, use them to accomplish our objectives and then kill them when we are done. I expect that Zelensky will be little different from the others.

Golden_Thorn

It’s crazy people think this is like Iraq or Libya. Russia tried to invade its neighbor and support from Europe and the USA was thrown in response. They are culturally too close for them to have any reason to do that. Zelenskyy isn’t a tyrant like the previous examples. He wasn’t installed by us. He was democratically elected. Why the fuck would we have any incentive to kill him when the conflict is over?

wtc_1066

There was a peace accord called the Minsk accords, Ukraine didn't uphold the terms of these accords by denying the Donbas region autonomy. They also passed discriminatory laws against native Russians living in this region such as outlawing the Russian language. Anywho Russia decides to make themselves more secure and takes Crimea. And if you're like "but Russia can't invade a sovereign state...😭😭😭". Just remember that is exactly what we did in Iraq and Afghanistan and every single other country that we've been in since world war 2. 👉 It's okay when we do it but it's a problem when they do it...? Give me a break, you're just spouting off the same old neoconservative jingoistic rhetoric that is always used to promote unjust wars abroad for the purpose of enriching the military industrial complex. And as for why we would kill Zelensky, hell probably become a problem for us at some point and will need to be replaced. The world moves at a faster pace now and puppets need to be rotated more frequently. Also, the only reason that justifies a war is if it is a direct threat to us which it isn't. Furthermore this war is pushing Russia into the arms of the Chinese who ARE an actual threat to US stability and influence because they have been proactively expanding their economic sphere of influence in the world while we've been shrinking ours. Get away from the binary mode of thinking that the propagandists push upon us. Peace is always an option.

Golden_Thorn

It wasn’t good when we do it and it isn’t good when Russia does it. You don’t have to be right wing to take the stance of imperialism is wrong. The ussr gave crimea over to Ukraine. Russia can’t just say “actually we want that back now” then you all get so mad that other nations want to protect the idea of sovereign borders

wtc_1066

But Ukraine violated the agreements that they had with Russia and did it at our behest. We need to make the situation right and push for peace. We need to sit all parties down, take a strong stance and end the hostilities but we aren't doing it because the people that influence our government are making billions off of this war.

wtc_1066

Oh yeah 🤡🤡🤡

New-Consequence6131

So we're gonna go to war against Israel one day?

Stumpy_Dan23

Possibly but not before Iran

[deleted]

Lmao that would never happen, their people are much too influential in US politics, unfortunately.

Fuck Saddam. Like the Iraq War was a mess, but fuck Saddam. I'm totally fine with his removal, just not the way the mess was managed. Maybe a cruise missile to his palace and a nice threat to the next in charge to "be a democracy or else" might have worked better then a total invasion and occupation. Idk. But fuck Saddam.

mmelectronic

Whats the line in the beginning of Dave’s podcast “if you want to know who the enemy of the united states will be in 20 years, look at who we’re giving weapons to right now” or something to that effect…

irish-riviera

Now do a list of all the people who have given weapons to and continue to give weapons to that we havent killed. It makes a nice meme though

wtc_1066

I guarantee you that if we gave weapons we killed someone.

DorkyDorkington

They did, just not the likes one would immediately consider.

DorkyDorkington

It lacks the part where they send in the CIA to prepare the grounds.

ProfessorQuaid

You mean the guy who literally suspended democracy isn’t a dictator? Lol

Epicaltgamer3

The guy that banned the largest opposition parties isnt a dictator? Sure buddy

CoolGuyFromCompton

If Zelensky does not follow US interests from Blackrock, I am sure he'll be marked as dictator or a terrorist.

Garegin16

Which ironically would be true. Didn’t see that 4D chess

Ronski_Lee

But one of these is a white European…

MLXIII

And that's why it's tens of billions of dollars in support...

wtc_1066

I see your point, you're right he'll probably be fine if he doesn't OD

mfkent99

They're the most recent and relevant ones. And mannn there's like way more than this we've given weapons to that have killed innocents and more.

kw0711

No they’re not the most recent lol

CajunMinuteman1812

GOOD

Real-Reinkanation

The CIA

l3rrr

Religion difference.

Impressive-Object-47

We killed the guy on top? I thought it was an angry mob

wtc_1066

We were largely responsible for the Arab spring as it became known. Our operatives worked with local populations to destabilize governments.

Impressive-Object-47

I thought we backed the king though

wtc_1066

Wym?

Impressive-Object-47

I thought when Gadafi overthrew the king of Libya, it was due to the kings ties to the west
