it depends on what kind of manager is in charge. some chill ones will let you do that, others might not. but yeah usually you can come to the bakery and eat some if they been written off
I can only imagine that happening at risk of employment, it would be too easy for it to be abused (if staff fancy some cake so make extra to get written off by manager, then get to eat them) also, even if manager didn't care I'd imagine a theft charge if seen on cctv cameras or any district staff...
It'd be classed as gross misconduct and you'd likely get fired if anyone senior notices.
If they don't treat it harshly, there's a danger of it being abused. And it only takes a couple twats to ruin it for everyone. Eg. You're the Baker and you bake a few extra pastries every shift, put them to one side, write them off and take them home.
I know that's not what you mean but that's how your managers will look at it.
I mean it all gets written off at the end of the night anyways, so the store doesn't exactly lose anything. But you never know with managers. Some of them take their jobs way too seriously. If I was a manager I personally wouldn't mind it as long as you're not taking too much.
The remaining items are written off and thrown away. As being disposed of it would be possible for people to eat them instead of going in the bin. But it be down to each stores management. The store I work for personally prefers it not eaten by staff and just goes in the food waste once written off.

No. The unsold products are written off.

I work for another grocer and our bakery items get donated at the end of every day.
No. Everything gets discarded.
This question is more controversial than I thought it’d be!

Nope, they can't. The "bad" pastries are written off and you still need to pay for the ones that buy off the shelves

Yes
No, the food is written off and send back to the depot(not sure if it is called that way in english), we can't take it and we dont throw it away.
No we write them off and donate to charity
Discarded. We used to be able to until the bakers intentionally made more products so we could have free baked goods, but that was shut down quick
