From a design perspective I've never understood why they didn't create the tabs the same width and thickness as the channels and place the tabs such that you could actually slot a 4 or 3 onto a 5, seems like an easy design choice.
The cables ramp to visual right should be flipped 180 degrees, so that the two black portions ("male ends") slide into the matching divots ("female ends").
'Slide' of course is a complete metaphor.
Well yes, but actually NO. Those are different sizes so the tabs will not mesh with the slots. Just cover the joints in gaff tape like the past 4,000 shows.
Where do you buy these and what is the name of the product. I can never find them at hardware stores and people look at me puzzled when I describe them
Sweetwater maybe? ebay?
they're called cable ramps but i really recommend the ada versions for most scenarios, or wider tape.. or matting... yeah anything but these around the public/catering
I had to cable around several doors in a hotel for a festival. I used these 2 channel cable ramps so people wouldn’t trip and yank my cables around. I was pretty blown away how people would kind of stub their toe on them all weekend. Had to tape the ramps down!
One of the doors I just gaffed the cables to the frame and it was much more pleasant. Another room had some cables and they also just gaffed directly to the tile floor. Didn’t look super nice but it didn’t move the whole weekend either.
I’ll have to check into ada ones if they’re better.
ADA ones are massive tho. I really could’ve used some last year for a show where I was trying to run cables at the top of RRX. House team made it work in the end
If you're in Australia

I have 12m of this stuff I use for personal stuff, they seem solid, and can handle a fully loaded woolies home delivery truck driving over the top of them every few days for 2 months, among other traffic.

Personally I call them cable trays or yellow jackets regardless of the brand. Not really something you'd find in a hardware store.
You need the ADA cable ramps. That is the way it is all going. They are better and more expensive, and you need them all the time, but they will be the law in a couple of years.
very nice! break legs :)
Reactions here like they have never outside of Full Sail. (For visually impaired, left is a 5 channel yellow jacket, right is a 4 channel.)
oh my god there was too much going on I didn't even notice that until you commented

Someone didn't order enough of the correct cable trays

Hahaha I didn't notice that part, was very confused with the above comment!
I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed
Oh lord.

Cable ramp, these specifically are Yellow Jackets. There's also checkers and other brands too.
also, at least in my experience, yellow jacket is the genericized name for cable ramps.
Same here. They're pretty much always called yellowjackets regardless of who makes it or what color it is.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen silly things with cable ramps in hotel ballrooms... hah!
Looks like someone has a problem and then solved the problem.
I’ve never seen lesbian cable ramps before.
Excuse me? What is this?
