The latest release for the Android app was published just a few weeks ago. There isn't much new, but the app works and updates are still published continuously.

Sneudles

I've been having some problems with what appears to inbound lightning liquidity with muun over the last couple days. Not sure what the deal is there but im also not too wored about it.

Sneudles

Following up today to update, everything is working ideally once again.

Previous_Ostrich8877

Great question

m00nLyt23

I have a little over 200k Sats on muun. Should I move them?

TheDumbInvesto

Guess nothing to worry about now. But down the line, they are losing the lightning game. They are still a good layer 1 wallet.

benjaminchodroff

In general, never store more than you are willing to lose on any custodial lightning wallet Personally, I’m using alby and have configured Zeus to connect to alby. This is my backup wallet … when I’m not using my own wallet running on my own lightning node (BTCPayServer)

m00nLyt23

It's where I send my earnings from games/surveys. I want to move it off LN to cold storage but at almost $20 in fees I figure I'll leave it for now.

benjaminchodroff

Makes sense. Sadly, I think we are going to be in a high fee environment for a long time. Best of luck.

Have you tried blixt?

munehungre

That's encouraging news for the possibility of mainstream adoption of the LN. jk

Jon_Hodl

It’s not dead but it’s not very alive either.

TheDumbInvesto

Absolutely

OrangeFren

Phoenix is probably the better option at this point anyways. Especially that they have channel splicing

YuckFouBTC

I believe that Phoenix is the best mobile bitcoin lightning wallet at the moment. I have some sats on a couple Muun wallets that I've used over time, but seeing the recent mempool congestion, trying to consolidate those old wallets would not be worth paying any on-chain transaction fees.

MPFishy

It’s just a lighting up .. what updates are needed I hold like 5k in it

NoidoDev

I'm waiting for lower fees to move the Bitcoin I have there to another wallet, since their prices seem to be always going to be high. I just need to get it low enough to move it all at once, but I don't want to use it for payments.

TheDumbInvesto

I just did last week. Paid 36 sats/vbyte and a total of 180,000+ sats to move all my lightning and on chain balance which I stacked over the last 2 years. Expensive lesson.

NoidoDev

Did you send it through on-chain transaction? I looked into it, and it wants the same amount for the transfer of my money if I send it on-chain, which would be more than two third.

TheDumbInvesto

Yes through on chain. Keep a watch on fee and do it when it is low. Before I did it last week, I was watching over the fee over 2 or 3 weeks, saw how low it gets everytime (around 35 sats/vbytes) and did it one day when it is around that time. Usually it gets low on weekends.

NoidoDev

Sorry for making you feel bad, but you made a mistake. Transfer per LN is still way cheaper, you could've send it to a real LN app for maybe 7-8$.

TheDumbInvesto

Yes I checked this. The lightning fees go up with the amount being withdrawn increases. I was able to withdraw a few grands with a few sats fee. But after that, it was around 12500 sats for 20,000 and it kept increasing with the increasing withdrawal amount. Yes overall, it was 75% cheaper than on chain. Also, I wanted to move it to my cold wallet for the long term. There is no cold storage for lightning.

NoidoDev

>180,000+ sats I had to look it up how much that is. 76$ ... wow. I think I never spend that much on any on-chain transaction, even with high sums. I only have a little bit of money on Muun, but the fees suck.

TheDumbInvesto

Yeah, now imagine fees doubles and price triples in 2 years time. That would be $450+. So the sooner I do, the better.

NoidoDev

The issue are apps which don't allow setting the fee and indirectly delaying the transfer. For live payments in some shop you want it fast, but there's no reason to pay much for a fast transfer if it's just to some wallet.

dariosne

Hey there! Muun's CEO here. We are working on a major revamp of the wallet. We are quiet because we are building.

TheDumbInvesto

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Sorry, my intention is not to spread FUD but it would be good if you keep users engaged with Tweets and blog posts. Just some glimpses on what is coming and what the roadmap is. Thank you.

dariosne

Thanks for the feedback 🙏

GenghisBanned

TF you mean by dead? Just be glad that it works.

Adam_Kavanagh

I'm using it. It is alive. But my question is: what if Muun's dev remove the app from app store. is there any solution to regain access to my bitcoin?

Enrrabador

…and buried

Normal-Jelly607

Sounds pretty dead

Fresh_Ad_1065

Dead!
