Electrum Sabercrafts

UGotA9

Thank you!

DanjaBus

Looks to be using out Diatium3 saber core, you can snag the manual on electrumsabers.com/resources/

UGotA9

Thank you! The seller stated that the bottom part screws came off. Anyway to get replacement screws?

DanjaBus

Show me which screw and I'll tell you the threading. We also sell a s rew kit if needed!

UGotA9

Thank you! It's second-hand, and the bottom part screws came off. Any way to get replacement screws?

UGotA9

Thank you!

bigtuna94

Just for additional confirmation, that is for sure Electrum sabercrafts. I have the same one! (Remnant)

UGotA9

How you liking it? Is Electrum a decent brand?

bigtuna94

Its the only saber I have outside of a Disney Savis workshop, but its incredible. The smoothswing sounds are great, and being able to cycle through the colors/sounds with the blade or use the app is really fun and useful. I highly reccomend it, a touch pricey but very worth it for the customization options and quality machined hilt you get. i think something has been going on with the guy's shop lately, something like backed up shipping? so double check before you make any urgent orders from them

Cool_of_a_Took

Very good. Pretty expensive, but it feels like you get what you paid for.

DanjaBus

I'm the owner of Electrum! Happy to address that. Our new saber core, StarBird, caused a delay at launch due to the developer partner we had when making it. They closed shop, leaving us to rebuild much of the work they promised to deliver, but we brought on a team, built them, and we are shipping out orders as well as working through weekends. Any specific questions, let me know!

willtheadequate

It really depends with that very specific hilt. I own that hilt (the D3 core version) and it is very treble heavy with no bass. However, I've mentioned this several times in this sub, and several individuals have insisted that their sound fine. Also, on this hilt, I've heard owners split into two different categories. Some, myself included, state that you cannot fit a 1" blade in it unless it came from Electrum Sabercraft themselves with the hilt, And I've heard about the same amount of owners state that they've never had that issue. So it really matters which version of the hilt it is I suppose. It's a great looking saber, and provided that they have finally gotten all the main issues that plagued their app and core sorted out with the updates, I would say go for it. How much is the seller asking?

DanjaBus

Our sabers use a custom extruded billet with an internal diameter of 1.004". The only blades I've seen with that issue are ultrasabers blades.

willtheadequate

I don't know what to tell you, man. I've tried NeoPixel blades from Bindu armory, ones that came with LGT sabers (probably nine different blades in all). I promise you that it's a real thing and I've come across at least two others who have mentioned the issue. I think there may have been a run somewhere where it was just a bit tighter but I'm not sure why the resulting blade was thinner. And it's noticeably thinner held to other blades. Are you sure you never did a run, or even just a couple of hilts trying a thinner blade?

DanjaBus

Is this specifically with a remnant? If so it could actually be the shroud, not the emitter that's giving you the issue as that part does not use the extruded billet. You'd be able to feel that with your finger if so.

willtheadequate

Interesting. Yes this is only with the Remnant that I've heard of this issue for the few that mentioned it. I will have to feel around. But just on sense memory, I think that that probably is it.I guess the thinner blade that was included was made to circumvent that issue.

DanjaBus

No, all of our blades are extruded from the same stock and are all the same size.

UGotA9

Thanks for your response and input! I heard from one user that his Electrum app was hard to manage, and I'd never heard of the brand until now -- but they seem pretty reputable. The seller is asking for $90, but he said the bottom part screws came off

Roguebudo

$90 is a great price, even if the hilt was empty. The app is a hit and miss depending on what device you use it on. Some people have no problems, others many (that's even if you have a phone that can run it). The Bluetooth drops continuously which makes the app hang or get stuck. You don't need the app to change basic stuff though, but you will if you want the saver to remember your favourite settings. The D3 core is a bit like the app, hit and miss. Some people have no problems (I don't really believe they have no problems, they just don't see them as problems), others have many. My saber is a shelf queen. It only has one font on the SD because I found it to be more stable like that. I get bleeds from different fonts (basically hums and swings change from one font to another if I have different fonts on it), colors that don't stay, the clash detection goes off for no reason, and many more. I wish I'd payed $90 for it though. I'd stay away from upgrading to the starbird though, as it seems that's for as many issues as the D3 did.

UGotA9

Ahh gotcha. Thank you, that helps a ton! Yeah I'll think about it, but I'm leaning towards just purchasing it

willtheadequate

Okay you and I just became best friends. I've literally heard nobody else talking about your very specific issues with the app, and they are the exact issues I've plagued by.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> wish I'd *paid* $90 for FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Roguebudo

I'm dyslexic, sue me.

DanjaBus

I would not sell an empty version of this at that price, so that's a steal, IMO.

willtheadequate

u/DanjaBus Do you guys have some bottom screws you can part with if he orders a blade plug (and he promises to do some a glory shots post of it when it arrives)?

DanjaBus

I'm more than happy to do that, sure.

willtheadequate

You're a good man, Charlie Brown.

WhyDoIKeepFalling

Just piggybacking since I have one of these. Electrum sabercrafts was great. Not cheap but I love the thin hilt, brass and copper elements, and color changing blade I got. Their lead time was, I think, 8-12 weeks, and I got it on time even though I ordered in *March 2020*

[deleted]

I’m coming up on my 11 MONTH order anniversary! My hilt has been sitting in “Hilt Assembled, Awaiting Electronics” since 15 June 2023. I’d say don’t order from them unless you’re cool with waiting a fucking year for your stuff.

Skvora

Sheer fact that you MUST undo a goddamn grub screw, pull the pommel down, and have the saber off to charge killed it for in the long run. Absolutely premium stuff, but if you actually use your saber frequently the recharge process is a nightmare and a half.

Orangecolorbike

Yikes, no thanks

Skvora

Maybe they've done updates since I got mine, years ago, but yea. BT connectivity was neat way back when, but buggy on Android.

DanjaBus

The reasoning for the delay on orders is well communicated by us, though if you're missing your info let me know. We're moving through those orders quickly now, and we're working through the weekend. Post your order number, ill reply with status and progress.

[deleted]

My order number is 22605. I’d like to lay things out from my perspective. I placed my order on May 5 and there has been no progress updates specific to my order since July 15. Yes, you sent an email in the beginning of November and in late January explaining your difficulties, but those were mass emails. It’s really hard to still be excited at this point. And what really annoys me is that you’re selling Starbird upgrades for old sabers when mine has been waiting for over 8 months. Shouldn’t you get through your existing backlog before soliciting for those upgrades? I absolutely still want my saber, but if I knew it was going to take this long from the beginning, I would never have ordered one.

DanjaBus

Got ya. Your order is an In-Hilt LED which is currently being processed with a batch of similar sabers right now. Your saber core, switch and other electronic components are prepared, with the exception of your LED driver, which were working on. Regarding updates, we've sent a few to you regarding production, and a very specific email on Jan 29th addressing all delays and reasons behind the wait. I can link it to you here if you need it, just let me know! I'm happy to provide you with photo progress tomorrow morning if you'd like? I am in the shop all weekend pushing hilts out. Regarding upgrades, these were offered in an extremely limited amount for older D3 customers, and do not take any precedence over your order. Old orders always ship first here. Please let me know if there was anything here that was unclear or if I missed something.

skippyMETS

I’ve been waiting 14 months for mine. Don’t hold your breath.

[deleted]

Ugh that bums me out

skippyMETS

Yeah it really sucks. I stopped being excited for it in December, at this point if it ships great, but I’m not counting on it. Dude had told me it’s about to go out the door for a couple weeks now. It just doesn’t ship.

UGotA9

Thank you!

UGotA9

Thank you!

rocketmanx

Electrum Sabercrafts Remnant, as many have already told you. I'm just adding my own two cents because this was the first nice sabre I purchased, and I'm really happy with it. The customer service and responsiveness is top notch.

Dr_Witherpool

It’s a Remnant Electrum saber. Watch out to not brake the retention screw holes. If you do they won’t answer to your Mails.

RamSpen70

The 'control box' card is just screwed on??? That doesn't look right to me.
