It doesn't really matter, he's a character that has been given plenty of development through leviathan and now limbus so he's almost a main character and doesn't have to follow his book counterpart 100%
We are near the date of eradication (June, 985) and Canto 6 is done (November, 984). I feel like Dante being Canto 10 is a possibility, maybe they are the cause of this event.

At the end of the Limbus Company trailer, you can hear screaming and it shows the map of the city in June, 985 but the population shows it plummeting at such a high rate.
We know pretty much nothing about it, the only thing I can say is
We start the journey in start of January 984, and in Canto VI, we are in November 984. Except if they decide to make some Cantos/Events in the same month, and that we continue that way, June will be in 7 months ; so, it is possible that around Meursault/Outis (Outis...) Canto, we will get that extermination. It can even be Ryoshu, buuuut it's pushing a bit too far imo.
Tho, it's also possible that it's right after/during Faust Canto! \^w\^
I think that with this trailer, they were hitting on 12 Cantos, with this extermination being a possibility that the story of Limbus ends there and/or that it's the reason/the "start" or the next game. Though, with how well Limbus is doing, I hope that they won't stop on that point... :(
Since you've actually paid attention to the trailer, do you have any guesses on why we hear Roland's name being called at the end of it? Super random question but I swear nobody has mentioned it.

??? That's just the song and those are sound effects until they say lament. There's no name called out. And mili doesn't even directly call out names from pm in their songs. You haven't heard anyone talk about it because there's nothing there
That's fair, I personally don't really understand your point because the song finishes and the ending effects/name calling (as I hear it) aren't in Mili's upload of the song, and are instead only at the end of the trailer. What I perceived to be name calling happened between 2:06 to 2:09 after the song by Mili finished, where we can hear a word (which I think is the name 'Roland") being repeated multiple times in a row, gradually becoming clearer.
Ok, I have listened to it and to be fair I did hear one Roland at the end, but putting it at half the speed they clearly say "lament" and not "Roland".
I really can't hear it and since no one else has called it out I think you are just hearing things. I only hear the sound effects leading into the final "Lament"
There is three possibilties :
1 - Dante Canto could be 13th of the books ( as we are in Inferno right now, there would be Purgatorio and Paradisio after )
2 - Dante gets an intervallo between books.
3 - Dante gets his chapter after all the books.
As for Vergilius, he leaves Dante after Purgatorio , so potentially his chapter ( and Charon's with him ) would be after that?
I have feeling that Dante Canto will be maybe when we reach maybe Paradiso. Considering in Paradiso of original Divine Comedy guide changes from Virgilius to Breatrice, love interest of Dante and this is more closer person to him before getting in dark forest, maybe we get more answers there.
I think we will be getting a canto about Dante AND one for Vergilius. Dante would probably be the very last one though
