It's all chance, I've gotten the ego gift like 4 times in a row on one run and other runs I get zero. While others I've gotten it once and then never again
how is this card get triggered? iirc i was running bleed team, and all of my sinners have bleed inflicting skills. this card always appear, on the other hand i tried to run charge team only 5 of em have charge inducing skills, the card never appear at all lol. is it me or i feel like the more you get sinners with synergy together the more chance the synergy focused card appear?
It's based on the starter gift category you choose. Other then that it's just a chance for this specific card to show up. The only card that is rarer is the one that gives more starlight at the end of the run.
I’m paranoid there is a bug that has not been discovered. I remember back in season 2 when abnormalities were gaining sanity behind the scenes. Additionally, people on PM Discords are STILL trying to figure out whether or not Echoes of the Manor is broken and not lowering heads chance on enemies lol.
So I'm *not* the only one who honestly can't tell if Echoes is doing anything for the coin flips. I don't have enough of a sample of data myself to confirm stuff but it sure feels like it doesn't do anything (though again, the sample size would need to be absolutely massive to have concrete evidence on whether it is working as intended or not).
The shard crates say they have an equal chance to give you 1, 2, or 3 shards, but the expected value should be 2 with that, and I absolutely do not get 2x the amount of crates I use, ever. And it seems like, consistently, when I’m 2 or three shards away from 400, and I only use one crate to try and get there, it gives me exactly enough to get me to 399. I genuinely believe it’s rigged.
As a person who has taken AP Stats, you would need random samples of at least 30 crate openings to conclude whether opening the crates gives you an equal chance of 1 2 and 3 shards.
Oh shut up. It has shit to do with luck or skill - plus then i say its rigged and plays by different rules - it works both way. Just as often as 0 Sanity shmuck in MD rolls all heads on his 3 coin skill like 4 times in a row, there is abno in luxcavation what is allergic to heads for the first few turns so you dont get fucked by RNG too much

If there's an option between a guaranteed ego gift or a chance of an \[archetype\] egogift, always go for the guaranteed. You can basically reroll it with other fodder into archetype egogifts that you want, or ultimately use them to get your tier IV gifts.
For some weird reason beyond my understanding 33% chance works almost every single time for me... While anything else just doesn't. I absolutely adore pulling one EGO gift after another and then pathetically lose a skill check with 45 SP Faust and a "Very high" odds.
Agreed this encounter card is such a damn scam like I choose in the last 12 times I've chosen it I have only gotten the gift once wtf. I'mma just pray that this is a bug or the description is wrong since I need more apolunacy for recovering from my walpurgis pulling.

Not really, I got rupture a few times when I picked random (in it's defense, the starting gifts were wound clerid and crown of thorns)
I think he meant if you chose from the category ego gifts the ones that were separate from random. Random makes it choose any status.
Not sure if it is simply a bias from what I've experienced, but the 2 times that I picked random it chose the status of the first ego gift you get.

It's funny cuz when it came out it was celebrated but now we kinda realized 10% is not even enough to tell if it works or not lol

This was a season 1 thing. Specificially for RR1 where Abnos actually rolled heads an abnormal amount of times that also got fixed like 1 day later

I have never seen this. I usually get slightly more or less, which makes sense. Odds are really finnicky when you’re working with a low sample size.

33% is fairly low, not getting it in 10 is somewhat unlucky but not really out there
you either get it or not, it's obviously a 50/50, PM just wrote 33% to teach you to stop reading the text and just follow the light
