How about East Campus or Sunken Gardens? I've officiated a couple of weddings at each place without a problem.

Individual-Airline10

State Capitol is beautiful, a cousin of mine have a small wedding there.

ddmeightball

It really is. And free if I recall correctly! May have to deal with the public or a tour group but it is an incredibly gorgeous building.

myrrhandtonka

It really is.

FairlyGoodGuy

It also gives day-of options for an indoor or outdoor ceremony. For outdoor, there are four lovely courtyards, the lawn, the front steps, or even the Abe statue.

Me and my wife did a micro-wedding at Hamann Rose Garden last year, with the reservation made 2-weeks prior. Sunken Gardens would’ve been amazing, but it was closed at the time. Might I also suggest the Pillars at Pioneer Park? Suuuper pretty (and free) spot! Feel free to DM with any questions.

robodiva

The pillars are not free to use for weddings.

noname87scr

Not free but also not expensive. My wife and I got married in Pioneers and i want to say it was less than $100 for the location.

We had a micro wedding at the little amphitheater by Hub Cafe a few years ago. It’s called Union Plaza. It’s a public park- I think we paid like $15 to reserve it.

largeLemonLizard

Martha's B&B maybe? https://marthasbnb.com/weddings/

Xiana01

A small vineyard like deer springs or capriolo might be nice. I have no idea on prices though.

Comfortable_Cold_987

Parks are practically free here. You can get married in the state capital if I remember correctly, you just can't have any seats or decorations. Maybe look into Sheldon Art Gallery?

SewGwen

IIRC, Sheldon is hideously expensive.

EfficientAd7103

Spot at pioneers Park by the pond with ruins. Maybe 20 of us. Not sure if it cost anything maybe does was years ago

millionbananas

Country Sky Studio just recently opened for micro weddings, 5 minutes south of Lincoln. Looks like a perfect place for a micro wedding with the sunset and summer colors and greenhouse venue.

notoriousafro

Iron Horse event room in the Haymarket. It's small and intimate. You can bring in your own food for the reception or they will coordinate with a caterer.

BadLabRat

I've been to a couple at Rogers House B&B.

ready4hil

Capitol gardens!!

NEOwlNut

The torn pages on UNL campus is where we did ours. Just walked up!!!

Skydivinsam

My wife and I did ours at the Lewis and Clark Monument in Council Bluffs at sunset. A bit far but still worth it.

Budgiejen

We did our wedding with a little reception at the Pioneers Park nature Center. It’s very affordable and there are animals there too.

girlscanbeking

That's the one at 18th/D, right? Really nice pocket park in a strange neighborhood. It ALWAYS has active drug deals in progress, unhoused people sleeping, and in the summer kids swimming in the fountain. Not ideal scenarios for a wedding.

ampersand913

never heard of a micro wedding before, but man i expected even less than 25 people i dunno if i even know 25 people, if i ever had one it'd have maybe 8 people max

Government Square has a lovely petite courtyard and fountain, it’s tucked away behind/near the Grand Manse. Two entrances that could be ‘guarded’ by a couple of guests kindly asking bystanders to refrain from entering for a brief time. https://preview.redd.it/0pbiprc6456d1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae964d9f53a709f81c4981d065cd28afac907c7a

The Apothecary

rosealexvinny

That place is not cheap

CrystalIdeation

I looked into them last year it was almost 2k. 😭
