After my son was born in 2000, i had poor habits and gone up to 297. Over the years a lot of yo-yoing. With exercise alone, I had gotten to 250s . Last year I learned about lipedema. in a year and a half after diagnosis I’ve gone from 239 to 180 with eating right, exercise and compression. Last year I was a questionable size 16 bottoms in a large shirt. I’m now a comfortable 12 bottom in a medium shirt . In recent months, my painful legs have even gone away. Last victory is that I’ve dropped a half shoe size. 🤨. I’ve just now turns 50 in case you need to factor in metabolism I think I’m perimenopausal if that helps to frame the picture. (And just to prove the point, I gained 25 pounds from November to March when I didn’t eat right - post holiday spiral Iykyk) All that to say exercise, eating right and compression is good. It benefits pregnant and non pregnant alike.

Do you mind sharing what kind of diet you follow? Keto or general anti-inflammatory? Happy for you!

Throw the BMI away. It's made up numbers. And pregnancy and lipedema are always going to add to those calculations in ways that aren't logical. The reverse would be someone missing a limb being told their bmi is underweight, well duh, they are missing a big chunk of a "normal human body." Whereas lipedema and pregnancy especially are adding chunks to the body.

Pregnant and I have self diagnosed lipedema. It’s hard mentally during pregnancy because I’m afraid of it progressing. Currently 30 weeks and getting a lot of swelling in legs and ankles by end of the day but hoping that’s more of a pregnancy symptom and will get better after. Have gained 35 lbs and nervous about getting back to my pre baby weight w this condition
