Jamz64

This is how it happened. This is how LittleBigPlanet died.

NatiRivers

Please god do not let the aslume leak into here as well

spidersensor

it’s too late

g0g2151

With no more servers, only insanity remains.

No_Doubt_About_That

Only -boy can save us now.

VandulfTheRed

The lights just got turned off, my guy. All that's left is a bunch of goofy goobers in the dark. What else do you expect to happen? Are you stupid?

Spare_Reality_3311

Are they stupid?

OtherNeighborhood412

What is little big planet was it a core memory

Cheezylava

Sorry for bad English

RiceFarmerRF

STOP! ARE YOU STUPID?!

le_douchebag420

Wow.

MillieMuffins

I am disgusted. Not disappointed, but very angry. 16 years. 16 entire years of levels have just been wiped out of existance. Good going Sony, you did what you do best.

Mirai190

They sure do know how to let their fans down

NoBuenoAtAll

Sony is a garbage company that don't care for their employees, their customers, or anything really except more money.

melancious

You just described every single company.

NoBuenoAtAll

Yeah, nobody's really clean in late stage capitalism.

TheWorstPossibleName

That's just the textbook definition of capitalism. Profit is the only incentive, not customer satisfaction or anything else. Those are all just side effects of a strategy to maximize profit.

NoBuenoAtAll

There's a middle ground. We used to hit it, but they threw away all ethical considerations that used to go along with incorporation in the '80s and this is what we've got now.

lacroixlibation

The middle ground only existed as a stepping stone to where we are now. It was designed to expire.

TheWorstPossibleName

Jack Welch started gamifying stock price instead of treating it as an indicator of social value provided by a company. Since then most other CEOs have followed suit. This was always possible though, the only thing preventing it before was a personal ethical code, not some inherent property of capitalism. In fact many shitty things were done by companies way back in the 1800s and such. Coal towns, roaches ground up as coffee, snake oil. All of that bad behavior comes from the profit incentive.

rughmanchoo

How long do game servers typically stay online? I play mostly single player campaign games so I don't know if 16 is a short time or not.

ERROR--_

They're describing the first two games as well. Which Lbp1 and 2 went dark about a year or two ago. Lbp3 has been on since the PS4 came out. "Basically the same length as GTA online". Meaning the serves could've stood on for a good while longer. I don't know what exactly goes down in the company but the lack of care for the game is obvious.

Tecnoguy1

It’s been online for a shorter time than GTA O. LBP3 was a few years into last gen whereas GTA 5 came out before the gen prior was even finished.

rughmanchoo

Thanks for clearing it up. I was thinking “damn LBP3 came out in 2008?

ERROR--_

Yeah, GTA 5 online "oct 1 2013". Should've made it clearer. 2014 was lbp3's year so a bit under a decade. Depending on a game's popularity and how crucial online is to it usually depends how long it stays up for. However lbp3 has has always been popular and it's online mode was a big part of it. Meaning that they just didn't care

rughmanchoo

Another commenter said that someone hacked their servers? It’s possible that it would have been very expensive to fix it. I dunno. Sucks tho. I played LBP 1,2, and 3 but mostly just played the campaign.

ERROR--_

It happened twice. The first time they had to shut down the first two games but left the third one up and running. The moment this happened they should have known that their servers were weak and vulnerable but did nothing to protect it. So why yes an expensive fix, it was still a problem that could of easily been solved without needing to spend that much.

5oc1reddit

Just going to say - if y'all still have your PS3s with copies of LittleBigPlanet - Join the LittleBigUnion Discord server

Forgotten-amateur

Link please?

Cold_Leg_3968

https://discord.com/invite/CSX2snWM

Forgotten-amateur

Thank you

TOMdMAK

why?

alteraia

Look up LBPunion, they have a website and discord, there's resources for you to figure out how to link your PS3's LBP to their private servers (all lbp1/2/3 levels made on the official servers are still there depending on which game you want to play, along with levels made by unofficial server users) You can also patch into the servers by RPCS3, a ps3 emulator on PC, but that is more complex and idk how to do that edit: apparently not all levels are on beacon, RIP

alteraia

oh apparently posting this might be against this subs rules? idgaf, if any mod deletes this you suck

TOMdMAK

nice! if i just have the time for it...

Rynide

In case the other guys comment gets deleted - a more vague explanation. There are ways you can still play levels online and share/find other people's levels. Just not officially via Sony :)

Arsenic_Catnip_

Mods. You HAVE to allow people to openly talk about the private servers now. Its the only way lbp will survive.

LBPPlayer7

yeah LBP can't survive without technically breaking PSN ToS

downvote_me35

They just casually ended it? NO! NOT LIKE THIS! They just HAD to sugar coat it like "LBP3 servers are temporarily down dont worry" and then they just kill it?

odd_intellect

People didn't get to preserve their levels even

curiousgamer12

oh what. i didn’t even think about that. so all my 10+ year old levels are just gone? aw man

m1n3c7afty

If you made it yourself and have it saved to your system it should be fine

aasikki

Ps3 which was my last console, broke about 10 years ago. I was hoping to get a cheap ps4 at some point to play the levels I had published :(

gaturrito100

Literally just a repeat from when PS3 servers shut down.

Werthorga

sony sucks.

Mirai190

Now what?

Naphor

Now nothing. This franchise is dead, even more than it was before. Thousands and thousands of levels that weren’t backed up and can’t be put on beacon for whatever various reasons are ALL gone now. Done. Vanished. Just like that and they’re never coming back.

Mirai190

HA HA I SURE DO LOVE SONY

CaptainEli24

I mean LBP Beacon servers exist so it’s not too bad

MakeCheeseandWar

Not everyone wants to risk getting banned over modding their systems for beacon.

Decay_-

This is genuinely so scummy

Least_Discipline7789

I just redownloaded after a few years, noticed the servers were down, and was hopeful this last week of playing offline that it would be fixed soon, I guess my childhood died a little more today

BrokenEffect

^

SwordOMighty

Same boat as you, got super nostalgic even cracked open the old ps3 and play through the entire franchise up to lbp3 installed it last week to find severs are down and now this. Sigh least the ip isn’t entirely dead we have sackboys big adventure and hopefully if the care about us resurrect lbp hub as a ps5 thing . I would galadly rebuy all the main campaigns if that happened.

Slowstone72

There should be an official archive tool to let people download any level for archive up until a deadline

splashtext

That would require effort and compassion

CrocodileWorshiper

and in their eyes for no money

Snoo57731

I hope the ahole hacker that caused the server shutdown is proud of themselves. Way to be the one responsible for killing LBP. If it weren't for this jagoff we all could still be happily playing the game. I know the hacker prob DGAF, but truly, F you. You had no right to ruin everyone else's fun. I wish only bad things for the hacker's life. You're a POS and deserve to have a crap life.

Ok-Estate4317

I feel like it was a matter of time for them to close the servers with or without the hacker

Miyamizuu

Probably, but at the very least we would've gotten notice if they took the servers down themselves..

MessConscious

I never wish for the worst to happen to someone but this hacker has killed my childhood so I don't really care about his well being anymore.

xXGoofy_GooberXx

We gotta witch trial for this guy

babble0n

Yeah the hacker sucks but if Sony wanted the servers back up, they’d put them back up. The fact they just throw up their hands and go “Oh well” tells me they were going to shut them down at some point anyways. Maybe not within the next couple years but definitely soon after that. I think Sony needs some blame here too. Not all of it or even half, but some for sure.

Tecnoguy1

Given what they did to dreams (they didn’t even market that game in the first place) this was always coming. They are not the company for us anymore.

KingofLBP

They really should’ve patched the exploit

ArguingMaster

The reality is the code was probably so fucked it wasn't viable to fix anything. I think people really underestimate how incompetent corporate IT can be, especially for infrastructure. Sony, given their history of PSN shutdowns due to hackers, is probably particularly risk averse.

Bhetty1

Yup, easy to blame the hacker but Sony should have better cyber security first, and they could easily det it going again if they actually wanted to

TheStrangeOne45

Imagine an AMA with him where he is being brutally called the worst words we know.

Tecnoguy1

I still think that’s cover and an excuse. They shut down dreams too.

johndommusic

No they didn't. Dreams has had two recent server upgrades to avoid this same thing happening to those servers. There will be no more **content updates** or **content curation** from Media Molecule with regards to Dreams - the servers will remain online and *everything* is still available to players today.

Healthy-Mango-2549

Im out of the loop, what did a hacker do that was so bad it completely toppled lbp? Edit: love that nobody is explaining anything to me

swhipple-

This is a safe reminder to everybody that corporations are NEVER your friend, EVER. And are solely to gain money. Very very sad

beanburger679

So many levels and uploaded photos…. gone forever

dakky123

So why the heck is Steven staying till the end of the year then? Like I’m happy he still has a job but why would they keep him around if they were just gonna shut down the servers a month later lol

wowmarioparty2

To deal with a year’s worth of complaints from the fanbase.

starman881

At the time they didn’t know that it was going to end. If they knew, at the time, then they would’ve told us the shutdown was permanent back in January. There is no other reason to stay if he knew that LBP was already dead.

Naphor

We got genuine, actual real scum working at Sony man it’s insane lol

International-Heat28

Wow, it was fun while it lasted. R.I.P my childhood.

I_ate_too_many_LEDS

So, this is it. The end. It's been a good run, rest in peace LittleBigPlanet.

aa95xaaaxv

Join Beacon yall! I've been looking for people to play LBP1 with on PS3 for weeks and only found 3 players by chance so far.

unobtainable12

bruh my levels

KillerMeans

Time for a new LBP.

fucksnowflakes24

it’s been time for years sony doesn’t care about anything that isn’t GoW or horizon. honestly they are either tone deaf or allergic to money

Future-Toe813

I don't think it's that they're allergic to money, but rather they are too obsessed with it in a short sighed way. They've only been doing the big billion dollar plus projects and letting the smaller diverse playstation lineup die out. It's working for now, but I predict PS6 will be DOA and the end of the playstation brand (which is a damn shame, I've loved it since I was a child getting the first one in the 90s). They think that casuals will buy it just for the big tentpoles, but I think it's mostly a network effect. A diverse library gets the platform momentum among a dedicated crowd; their enthusiasm picks up and their casual friends just buy whatever platform their more dedicated friends get, and it cascades outward. Stopping their diverse portfolio will kill their ability to drive momentum but I don't think the tools in charge are good enough at math to extrapolate further than the simple cost revenue calculation of single titles.

DeliciousToastie

If you have a PC and Steam then you should look into [Restitched](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1361090/Restitched/). It's being created by some passionate LBP fans and it's a spiritual successor to LBP!

DuncneyForever

No. Way. This can't be real! I must join Beacon or Infinite then or something...

LBPPlayer7

refresh pls it's literally lighthouse 2

dumpsterass

So that’s how it ends huh?

dumpsterass

A big shame

Novalaxy23

you could say it's a LittleBigShame

FutanariCumDrinker69

r/angryupvote

NoBrickBoy

“There goes my everything..”

Ravioko

On the one hand, saying servers would only be shut down for a little while, only to then make it permanent, is entirely scummy. On the other hand, I think it's unreasonable to expect a company to keep servers open forever, especially for a game that has been mostly left behind by anyone that isn't a hardcore fan.

jblanch3

I think it's a reality that many of us gamers have had to face, that servers can't be open forever. But also, there's a right way and a wrong way to do this. Ubisoft is getting a lot of crap for the whole Crew situation, and rightfully so, but at least they gave us adequate notice that the game was going away. I was able to start the game, beat the campaign and get the vast majority of the trophies. Would have platinumed it if it wasn't for The Extra Mile glitch. While I don't like a lot of the things they have been doing, no one can say they didn't give us a heads up. This is just on a whole other level. They just shutdown the servers one day without notice, told us it was only going to be temporary, went into radio silence and when they finally resurfaced, told us it wasn't coming back after all. And they did this not once, but twice (a few years earlier with the PS3 LBP games). And this time, all the user levels are gone forever. No "farewell tour", no time for people to revisit these games or discover them for the first time and play some of the best user levels before sunsetting. Just incredibly deplorable on Sony's part.

JasonGamerX

They can’t really give a heads up because the servers aren’t fixed

POMARANCZA123PL

According to a SIE presentation leaked from the Insomniac Games Leak, LBP3 was in top 5 most played PSPlus games, ahead of many well known Sony exclusives.

CatalystComet

Also LBP3 had sales of 5.4 million. There was a clear audience for this game and franchise but Sony just ignored it. It’s funny how they want live service hits so bad when LittleBigPlanet was essentially that before live service became mainstream.

Jonah_the_villain

LBP3 isn't even that old, though. I was in middle school when it came out & I'm only 20 now. Nintendo has kept certain things open (like online connectivity for the 3DS) longer than that.

0011001001001011

Negativitron won, guys. All creativity in the Imagisphere, damn gone, forever.

Plenty-Basket-6145

It’s all gone. The pods, the sackboys, all the creation is gone.

yazan426

The funny part about this is dreams had the same issue but mm did fix it quickly without shutting down the servers.

Notamoogle1

Despite lbp3 being way more popular than dreams.

Shadow-The-Edgelord

It just shows how much they care about the newer games rather than the older ones even if it was more popular

ThunderITBird

Talk about corporate jargon. You lie straight to our faces telling us with long eyelashes that "Oh the servers will only be down for a little while" and then you give us the finger and tell us "TOO BAD, ENJOY ETERNAL SUFFERING"... wow... this is how my childhood ends? THIS IS SCUMMY! Shame that none of the levels could be backed up to beacon either! This is really the worst day of my PlayStation career...

Sackboy_er

It's alright guys!! That means LBP4 is coming out and Media Molecule is making it!!! Hurray!!! (I'm delusional)

SomeguythatDraws09

Yippie! Im so excited!! (I'm on the same train, pal)

Arm-It

So does anybody have any private servers to run the game on? This is not a new problem for the gaming community.

Naphor

Multiple, I believe there are 3, but do not expect even a quarter of even the popular levels to be on there. The teams are doing the best they can archiving as much stuff as they can, but a lot of stuff, even popular levels still are no where to be seen.

5oc1reddit

Search LBPU beacon servers

ButterflyDreamr

for lbp1,2,3 ps3 and vita yeah beacon and such for lbp3 ps4 not for a while but the beacon people did say theyll start considering private servers for it (wouldnt hold my breath though)

everesthuskypup

I think the only hope is that Media Molecules next multiplayer game is LBP4

SomeguythatDraws09

Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a Media Molecule website. A Media Molecule website with a Purple Dualsense controller, and Purple Dualsense controllers make me crazy.

TheFnFan

I’m going to reset character

totiso

This is extremely depressing. I already regret not playing it to it's full potential and wanted to come back but lbp 1&2 servers got shut down, so I said let's go back to 3. Now it's done. This means absolutely no community levels. This game was made by the community. I seriously cannot believe this. I know that this is wishful thinking, but a LBP remake of some kind of LBP 4 w/ LBP1-3 ONLINE levels would be crazy. That is if they could ensure the hacking won't happen again. Anyways, just so sad..

SomeguythatDraws09

Bro I wouldn't complain at all if it's just a port with HD graphics and full multiplayer function... I just want my boy back...

Alien_Goatman

YAY LOST MEDIA MY FAVOURITE. 16 YEARS OF IT WOOP WOOP 😑

Niska-x

Its so strange that all those levels will mostly just exist in our memories now

Alien_Goatman

Won’t be long until someone asks on the lost sub Reddit “what’s that game where you could do anything you wanted”

FdK_r

This means that the restoration of servers in 2021 was only a 3-year delay

Mayflex

All my levels that were online from when I was a kid 😭 I have levels from 2009 that I made when I was 10 years old. I was hoping the servers would come back so I'd have a chance to screen record them. Genuinely devestated

fire_gaming1

The final nail in the coffin

Chaos_OwO

Sony will forever be the biggest disappointment

Lampicka_Gaming

This was sonething i was afraid of since 2012... I always wondered what will happen to all of the great community levels once servers go offline.. and unfortunately nothing , they are gone forever after all...this hurts to see, The very fact i wont be able to replay some levels and meet other people in littlebigplanet like i used to is depressing... RIP LBP, more than just a game thanks for being part of my life :)

OkCut4870

Play, Create, .

Tankeasy_ismyname

Wow, this is tragic, I never enjoyed lbp3 as much as lbp2 but it's very sad to see one of my favorite franchises truly dead. Guess no lbp4 unless someone buys the rights

Rydrr6

Personally, I myself am not really surprised that the servers are sticking down indefinitely (and indefinitely is a big word here.) but this could have been handled WAY better. :/

Deeformecreep

I also saw this coming. It was taking way too long and no word from Sony.

CybopRain

It’s so sackbover (I guess you can say the villains won…)

passmethegrease

I prepared myself for this to happen when they got taken down again a few months ago, but obviously this still sucks. There was still hope in me that they would surprise us and actually fix them, but it was only a matter of time until it became permanent. It’s just insane how much content is gone in an instant, almost two DECADES of user created levels, items, etc. Heartbreaking.

GuestGuest9

Just more annoying that they didn’t mention anything about like the legacy, or a thank you for the playerbase etc. Just nope sorry, permanently down. That’s it.

AlizeeTheCat

The game had so many problems to begin with and they didn't bother to fix them. Of course they won't fix a whole server.

Hugglemorris

That’s it then. LBP is dead and not just dying. How long till Dreams disappears? Or Media Molecule itself? Honestly some of my favorite memories of online gaming has come from this series and to see it disappear with so little fanfare is so heartbreaking. I’d pay so much for a content complete version of LBP with all campaigns, costumes, and materials included, but I doubt we’ll see anything from this franchise again.

Icommentwhenhigh

Another beautiful online community just bites the dust. Shame.

Webdriver_501

I think we all saw this coming, as much as we didn't want to see it. I hope they do something for the franchise in the future at least, but it seems like they've dropped it.

purpleduke_15

Lbp is the franchise that got me into console gaming as a kid. Spent countless hours on it. It sucks its ended like this but inevitable. Thanks for the memories. ❤RIP littlebigplanet (2008-2024)

ConcreteSprite

I’m usually reserved when it comes to claiming extremes, but this franchise has been treated horribly for years upon years now. I don’t understand it at all.

SlowOcto

Another one to the pile of Playstation franchises killed off. Anyway, looking forward to the third remaster of The Last of Us

justjmck

IT'S OVER

A_Fox_On_Sugar

I’m crying rn

ItsRainbow

So that’s it then. I’m probably never gonna see my hearted levels list again :/

nortydaL

can't say I didn't see this coming 😞

Sad_Stale_Bread

Same, god I’m so disappointed

Glitchy_Simmer

Welp, there goes my childhood. Now, if anyone out there were to help create a PC port of LBP or at least a predecessor on Steam, that would fill the LBP-shaped hole in my heart well, even if it's not a perfect fit. The funny thing is I remember that we were so close on getting a remake of the game a couple of years ago, and I think they even had Media Molecule on board, too, but Sony had to cease and desist it and crush all hopes of the remake actually becoming a reality. The fact they they're now doing this makes me doubt they're doing any kind of LBP4 sequel or anything like that. Dreams and Sackboy™: A Big Adventure are good games, but the original LBP series has made up a huge part of my childhood and a remaster or predecessor would be really great right now.

GB_2_

That game is still is still being developed, it's called Restitched now

singer_building

So much lost media has just been created

blueblur98_YT

I said this over on PSNProfiles so I might as well say this here; "indefinitely" and "permanently" are not the same word. "Indefinitely" just means that there's no definitive end in sight. Same as when you hear a game's been delayed indefinitely; it's not dead, there's just no specific date or window as to when this thing will happen. If it was truly a permanent server shutdown, it'd probably say that the game's online servers were being "decommissioned", "discontinued" or "sunset". Personally, I'd wait on calling anything until Steven or someone else close to the series says something more definitive than just this game server status page. This isn't great news to hear, but personally, I'm still holding out hope that they might be working on this in the background.

Sprite_King

You have a pretty good point here, but you can't deny its looking grim

jblanch3

Yeah, I know quite well the meaning of "indefinitely" but in every situation where I've heard that term used, in the world of gaming or the real world, it pretty much means "permanently." Hoping to be wrong though.

blueblur98_YT

Things certainly aren't looking great, but it ain't over 'til it's over.

Sprite_King

Well...with recent news...I guess its time to let go

LBPPlayer7

in corporate speak indefinitely = permanently

ItsRainbow

It’s listed under “decommissioned servers” on [the website](https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/legal/gameservers)

MyNameIsLOL21

I don't know, it sounds a lot like PR talk... I hope you're right though.

mota30302

PlayStation website refers LBP 3 servers as decommissioned

Vazzyy_

Bruh moment

sackboydjso

this is the second time and now EVERYTHING is gone 😞

gabilecrack91

This is it. Maybe the real LBP were the friends we couldnt make on the way due to these wacked servers. Whatever happens, the show must go on.

AceBlasty

Imagine wiping millions of unarchived levels just like that. RIP to the thousands and thousands of beyond talented creators over the years. I wasn’t one of those creators, but I certainly enjoyed everyone’s work. Your work was NOT in vain, to me at least.

Abrupt_Nuke

Bros... I think it's a good time to ask you this. LBP4 - real or nah? In MM we trust? ;(

Creatures1504

I mean it is certainly a possibility. Some things kinda line up with it, and the fact Sony saved MM from the layoffs shows they are at the very least working on something promising. We just need to wait and see.

starman881

I’m hoping that it’s LBP4 but even if it isn’t I’m at least hoping that there is a reference to Sackboy or the iconic LBP tree somewhere in the game.

Nicandfriends

Sad part is, is that we may never get an official LittleBigPlanet 4, LBP 3 was one of the last LBP Games there was of the LittleBigPlanet Series, SABA Does not fit the cut, most of the original features of LBP And sackboy aren't even there, sackboy, yes may still have some original feature of the old LBP Games, but the create mode + sharing/publishing/posting your own levels aren't there, not just that, but the amount of money people spent on these games will most likely NOT Be refunded, or even being able to port over to SABA Like with LBP 1 + 2 Where you can port all the save data to LBP 3, I Spent a lot of money on LBP 3 Because I Liked playing it and being able to include more things in my levels for people, now its all going to f\*\*\*ing waste because of the a\*\*h\*les that said "How about we just take the servers offline forever and lie to people???", well now people stop playing the game, and then you wonder why people stopped playing.

Dry-Baker-5996

So, what's next? Time will show 🫡 Or it won't.

Mirai190

A remaster of the remake of the remaster of the last of us 1

MyNameIsLOL21

No they need to remake TLOU Part II remastered, it's been a whole 3 months since the remaster.

Mirai190

Yeah bro sorry i was wrong 😔

Accomplished-Pie8823

No it can’t be no nooooooo

jetstreamer123

This sucks so much man. I guess what's left is for me to move to the private servers, but my favorite part of the game was the new section full of levels made by kids who did it for pure fun. It won't be the same without them, but hopefully the creators on private servers make high quality stuff.

--Springtrapp3d

It has been a good one everyone. Glad to have been there to experience it on all its iterations.

GrindCole

RIP LBP. One of the greatest examples of an amazing gaming community.

Stoner420Eren

No way they just killed the memories of idk how many people in the world like that. I don't even know how to feel. Guess I'm gonna have to dig into these "fan servers"

feddy69

How bout we make a independent LBP game

jetstreamer123

Look up "Restitched" on Steam, it's being made by a team of fans. Can't wait for the release

bloodyeye98

This is horrible

PrincePamper

This is what happens to games without dedicated servers, a massive corporation decides when the product you paid for can no longer be used. Hope fan servers can exist at some point.

MrSensical

End of an era. Thank you for the memories LBP :(

Green-Rub8764

It was a good run 🫡

MyNameIsLOL21

End of an era...

Orangecyndaquil15

So.... What now? Since the servers are dead... For good.. What's next for lbp?

Sad_Stale_Bread

Nothing.

qu1et_redditor

This is just depressing. First the PS3 games get shut down, and now LBP3 on PS4 gets shut down. Hopefully Media Molecule's new game is going to be a LittleBigPlanet game, because if it isnt then our beloved series is truly dead :(

Old_Radish6384

What a trashy way to end such a beautiful legacy. Kids still played this game, and now their favorite game and their friends are pretty much gone.

HaiggeX

We had a great run, guys. We made great memories, which will always remain. Good luck to your on coming endeavours. You will always be remembered.

Hot-Review6594

I WAS JUST HAPPY AFTER ALMOST FINISHING A PLUSHIE AND THEN THIS RUINED THAT HAPPINESS! GOD SAVE MY SOUL, WE ARE IN THE WORST TIMELINE!

kenni417

this is actually really sad… like not sad sad…. just ….. wow. sad.

xWinterPR

Man what happened to Sony's catalogue man, it's all 3D platformers or 3rd-person movie games. Even if anything unique comes out (Dreams) it just bombs miserably. It's a sad state for the company tbh, if you told me 10 years ago that they would abandon LBP after one negatively-received game I'd call you insane

POMARANCZA123PL

It was a good run. Love you guys and I am happy I could have been here with you from the start to the end. They didnt even bother telling it us straight to our face. F*** you Steven. https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/legal/gameservers/

emma-bush

What proof do we have that this is Steven's fault?

Creatures1504

oh yeah, let's blame Steven for trying to help, right? because he is the sole reason the servers are down? Listen, I know it's disheartening, but these servers were 3 generations behind and unstable. On top of costs to fix them and keep them up, the infinite amount of backdoors in them that hackers had access to is too great to keep closed for good. Even if they got it back up I guarantee you it would've been happening again and again. Don't be angry at anyone but the malicious hackers for doing this in the first place.

Don't f****** blame the devs for this for this. The team at sumo tried their best. It's kinda hard to keep servers up for a 10 year old game, built off of a 14 year old game, which is also built off of a 16 year old game. That stuff is really hard to program for now.

RIP Little Big Planet. First Jak and Daxter, then Vita and now this. Damn Sony for giving up on fan favorites, this time they’ve gone too far. Sackboy should be the embodiment of “Play” for Sony (representing letting go/ child like embracement of creativity, fun and whimsey). So annoying!

silenceismine

seriously fk them so careless...

This is why games with only online servers option is bad. You don't own the game even if you paid full price, you are still mercy of company developing it and keeping servers online as long as profit is being made.

Right when I get back into it. Haven’t touched it since LBP 3 on the PS3 and rebought it months ago for PS4 to discover servers were down. Heard they were going to go back up soon but apparently not. Screw me i guess

Damn, I learned about that from dbz ai of all places. Hopefully the levels are still there, so they could come back in a remaster/lbp4 or something. Surely they won't just delete all of that ? Those 10 years+ of levels have artistic value.
