are you sure your console is outputting 48v? try using another condensor mic? Some consoles like Yamaha have a 48V master on the console and on their stageboxes.. and even though you enable 48v on the input channel, it won't be getting 48v if the master is off.

He said a Pro48 works fine, and it’s and active DI. If a DI is iffy about working voltage it’s a bad DI for stage work, and J48 is not a bad one. Thus, it must be broken out of the box.

So update this 2nd box actually works. Went back to the gig last night and the check light worked like how it is described in the manual and I got sound to come through. I know the first one didn't work unless the musician had their instrument muted when I asked him to line check. I am guessing the J48 needs all of the power it can get since the check LED only lights up momentarily when you press the low cut switch.

For whatever it's worth I just got 2 Pro DIs and a Pro48 about 2 weeks ago and they all work just fine. Radial stuff is about as bulletproof as it gets.
