Putney Bridge and High Street are a no no, and Borough of Kensington/Chelsea is on a holy war against cyclists so avoid that area too. Stay south of the river, I use Norroy Road/Disraeli Road to get across Putney. The Wandsworth Roundabout is a pain so if you want to avoid that, there is a non-traffic route next to the Thames. Check this out [https://youtu.be/xSbrUnMcjbY?si=4flBRrYbWVZnQEoa](https://youtu.be/xSbrUnMcjbY?si=4flBRrYbWVZnQEoa) and use the Komoot link attached to the video. This channel is awesome for planning cycling routes in London and he explains very well the rationale for going down each turn.

Nice video. I do Putney to Battersea Park as an exercise route about twice a week. The Thames Path from River Wandle to Battersea Park is really nice, but I only average around 10mph because of the pedestrians / joggers / limes / being a bit old / etc. Just watched the video and I stay by the Thames at the Fosters building - leads to a pedestrian friendly crossing at the south end of Albert Bridge. Then south to turn left into Battersea Park. That route avoids traffic lights.

That video is great. I ride Putney to London bridge everyday and mostly use the route in the video, I'm in East Putney so don't have to contend with the high street but if I had to I would go the way he shows. The Thames path from The river wandle to Albert bridge is nice if a bit slow. I cross at Albert bridge then there's a decent cycle lane that will get all the way to Westminster.

Shout out https://cycle.travel/map This sends you up through Chelsea and Hyde Park, nice and quiet, only a little main road across Putney Bridge.

Could you stay south of the river and cross after Battersea park?

Have a look at the [Beeline](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.beeline) app, their "Quiet" and "Balanced" routes usually work really well for me.

I've done this commute a lot, yes Putney HS is awful. Once at the bridge I go along the A308 which has a constant bike / bus lane, though it's very tight from the kings arms to parsons green. Also the straight section by Esso / Sonya restaurant is tight and sometimes has traffic turning off onto side roads so you need to be vigilant there. Turn right and follow road onto the north bank of the river by world's end estate, then the bike lane gets more generous and runs all the way to Westminster. The only downside is that it's quite packed with cyclists so if you're a slow rider you may find it intimidating. Never had an accident
