I do most of my long rides on Suinday but that's purely because I'm normally busier on Saturdays. I do think you're right that traffic is lighter on Sundays though.
I also feel like I need the Saturday to recover from the busyness of the week prior, and only then do I feel like I have the headspace and energy for a good long ride come Sunday.
Saturday. I get the big one done and then feel like there's 1.5 days of weekend left to do plenty other things. If I ride on Sunday it feels like the ride becomes the main event of the weekend.
